I enjoy your videos partly, because you make such a great team and also I appreciate your thought process in composing and setting up your shots. I am an amateur photographer and take lots of desert pictures, but I go out and just take pictures of subjects that look interesting to me with out much thought. I can see how much time and energy goes into your planning, thank you for sharing.

Really liked the photos from this one. Nice job guys. I think the thing that caught my attention the most was Chris’ idea to wait for the sun to provide separation on those two sets of background hills. Pretty clever. And that is a proper coffee maker.

Really loving all of your desert videos just now, guys! One of my dreams is to shoot some desert stuff in North America! Being from Scotland, it would be nice to shoot in sunnier, warmer conditions for a change!

Nice work both of you. When I first saw your stories last week, I thought you were in the JTree Cholla Garden. Now I know you were not. I really like the look of the Ocotillo's outstretched branches somewhat mimicking the clouds.
But yeah...Cholla plains can be tough without cloudy skies. The great news though...they are awesome for MW night images.
Yeah I want to get back to j tree cholla gardens. I think they are almost as good as this place. Or just as good. It’s definitely tough without clouds but this shoot worked out! Cheers buddy!

Beautiful work, Mike. Planning a road trip to the Sonoran desert early in the spring...the lockdowns are wearing on me and need a break from work. Do you recommend any particular area for chollas and saguaros?
Yeah I completely understand that! I highly recommend Saguaro National Park. It has lots of both types of cactus!

Loved the video -- especially the back-lit chollo cactus shots. Quick question - are you guys using a generator for power in the camper? Doesn't look like you are in a campground with hookups.
Thank you Lance! We have a small suitcase generator as a back up, but so far the batteries and solar panels keep up with what we need. Our last video we showed our rv power setup 😁
Great. Good luck with that setup next summer. In Texas, we could never camp in summer without the a/c going.

Thanks for another great video. Unless it is "Monsoon Season" or springtime "Thunderstorm Season" isn't it safe to assume that there will usually be few if any clouds in a desert? I lived for 5 years in west Texas, and the skies were usually cloudless. As a photographer, this can be frustrating, but it tends to be a fact of life.
Yeah I’d say there are more clear days than not, but this year seems to be even more so. Hotter for longer and later in the year, and more cloudless skies. But maybe it’s just me complaining haha

Being Arizona photographers, do you guys see tons of rattlesnakes out there on your adventures? Or are they more rare than one would think?
It’s pretty rare. Summer, early fall and spring are more likely to run across them, but it’s still pretty rare.
@@PereaPhotography Always had this perception in Arizona you would be constantly seeing them every trip. Does the same hold true for scorpions and tarantulas ?
Yeah same with those too. We see a bit more tarantulas this time of year because it’s their mating season. Scorpions usually only at night.

I overcame the blue skies near Mesa a few weeks ago by using AI. My wife is killing me but the images look great. Great but fake!!!!
