Pillow Talk Modern Trailer HD 1080p - Doris Day & Rock Hudson

Pillow Talk came out in a beautifully re-mastered Blu-ray and I was really surprised that there wasn't a modern trailer showcasing this amazing film. This movie has fantastic comedic performances from the leads and the script is so sharp I just wanted to showcase how great it is in a modern trailer and to see if I could tell the story without resorting to using caption cards and a voiceover.

This was a big hit when it came out in 1959. A year or two later there was a sequel, "Lover Come Back" with Rock and Doris and Tony Randall again and many now think it even better.

They remastered it recently in HD for Blu-ray. It's well worth the upgrade if you have a Blu-ray player or PlayStation 3 or 4!

Terrific job!!! Masterful really. The overlaying of the music cues (especially @ 1:33) and the timing of the edits and dialogue is all spot on. The trailers back then are fun but hokey in comparison to your conception here - which promises a really cool classic film - as opposed to an "old movie".

Actress and singer Doris Day made nearly three dozen films and more than 600 recordings. At the height of her career, she topped both the billboard and the box office charts. Day died of pneumonia this morning, Monday May 13, 2019 at the age of 97. This movie would be the first of three to showcase the trio of Doris Day, Rock Hudson and Tony Randall all together. It was followed by Lover Come Back and Send Me No Flowers, with all three actors portraying different roles in each.

Oh yes, he comes to my mind to when I think about tall, dark and handsome. I have to mention Cary Grant and Gregory Peck who had these attributes. Sadly today's Hollywood doesn't have anyone to represent it. In fact Jon Hamm (Don Draper in Mad Men) could come close because he had that classical, timeless good looks but they were on point only in Mad Men. 😍😍😍😍
