True people from Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver don’t sound like this because they don’t have as big of a Caribbean influence as Toronto. Most of the black people in Toronto are either from the Caribbean or Africa and I’m not talking like generations ago. Some are either born there or their parents were born there. most of The blacks in Toronto are immigrants unlike the US where most of the black folks there been there for generations upon generations. The reason why we have these lil accents is because that’s how we talk in the Caribbean or that’s how our parents talk at home and we grew in it. I was born In Jamaica and moved to Toronto when I was 12. Most of the black folks I meet in high we’re born in Trinidad, Guyana, Grenada, st Vincent, st Lucia, Somalia, Kenya, Angola just all over the Caribbean and Africa. My brother was born in Toronto but he Still has a Jamaican accent because thats how we talk at home since we were kids.
