Couldn’t help but notice the bubble on the left joycon’s analog stick, u could get rid of it by cutting the broken rubber piece underneath it with an xacto blade or pull it off, but i’d prefer the xacto, u can get a cleaner break/cut.
Hi I tried this and it kinda worked my lcd was broke so i put a new one in then I put on my switch the screen was light black but when I tapped the screen I could hear sound so I opened it up again and when I took the lcd out it’s cable was broke do you think that is why there was no light
Seeing some light but no image is usually a sign of a broken LCD. Since the LCD is made up of multiple layers (backlight, diffusers, polarizing filters, and the LCD itself), there's a chance the LCD broke but the backlight is still fine. Since the backlight is basically just LEDs they are hard to break, and will work if power runs to them. Sadly it sounds like you may need another LCD panel!
My son dropped his switch and the screen is black but there is still sound and backlight. I installed a new LCD today the way you explained it but the switch is still doing the same thing. Is there anything else that could be an issue?
It's possible the ribbon isn't fully connected (they take a lot of effort to fit into those connectors), or is in some way damaged. Could also just be a defective LCD. I'd start there before looking into board issues.
The digitizer is that part that detects touch input. It is an incredibly thin, transparent layer that is usually glued to the clear plastic or glass of a device. The LCD (liquid crystal display) is a much thicker panel that produces the image.
Not normal, usually the clear digitizer holds it in place. If need be you can add some doubled sided tape under the LCD to keep it from moving around, that won't hurt anything.
Can anyone please tell me how you slide in the ribbon for the digitizer? Every video I've seen it slides in effortlessly but mine doesnt go all the way in. Is it meant to slide into something specific as well? Thanks
If it doesn't go in easily don't force it. Make sure it's lined up right on both edges and carefully kind of "walk" it in. Using tweezers with a soft tip can help you move it to position as well but is a bit risky for rips
I really want to do this but I’m scared I will break my switch in the process is there any way you can damage your switch during this and what digitalizer did you use
You can damage lots of things. You just have the be careful and follow the steps. I believe this one came from ebay but you can find parts wherever you prefer. The company Mobile Sentrix just added game console parts, that might be a good place to start

@@gummy8847 nah you'll be just fine with that. You only need the adhesive to keep it from falling off, so even 2mm would be okay. If you have extra space just add some more adhesive to fill in the gaps. It will help keep dust and *some* moisture out
