I think maybe this week was a bit of a... hmm what's the word... disaster? 😅😆 We hope you enjoy joining us for a few laughs and a couple of tears this week, we'll see you next Sunday morning for a more successful week of building 🫶 Thanks again to EcoFlow for sponsoring today's episode, check out the link & discount code in the video description to take advantage of their Prime Day sales (up to 44% off until July 31)
🤣🤣 OMG my jaw hurts! Hahahahah I spat my bourbon all over my PC.. The Gazebo debarcle needs to be remixed into a short if you haven't already, That has to be all your bad luck for the build now. Keep on truckin! 😂😅
Please don’t leave these types of videos out. This is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. Best content EVER!!! Don’t be disheartened by these setbacks as it happens to everyone. Keep up the fantastic work legends
In the future when you're camped up on a beach you'll look back and say remember that day things weren't to plan but look at us now. Well done so far. Cheers.
As a photographer......I dropped a lens which broke in 3 pieces..... you deserved the laugh with the marquee.... Dents in the shell equal character!!! LOVED THIS VLOG!!!
Laughed til I had tears watching that marquee go up and then come down again. Sorry you've had a bad week, but that just made mine. And of course, with the rain coming, there isnt a breath of wind today.
So glad you didn't scrap this vlog!! We all have days, weeks, months like that and you have reminded us to remember to laugh. Thank you. Putting up any type of gazebo, marque is a recipe for a "domestic discussion!" moment.
Love your work guys. Stay strong...we all have those disasterous days...the end product will be sooo worth it. Just a handy wee tip from an old chippie...when youre siliconing anything...use an old phone book or the likes to wipe the excess product on. Once a page is half full fold the other half over onto the silicone and it will stop the silicone from going everywhere...and you can rip out the full pages and bin them without the silicone going everywhere. I hope that makes sence.....and use rubber gloves to finish off the silicone...the oils on your bare fingers will make the silicone go black eventually. Keep up the good work. Cheers Bren
One of the funniest videos I’ve watched. Will mention you guys this week on the radio show! You guys are awesome, hopefully a few new subscribers will pay for your lens.
Gosh guys. We laughed and cried with you. As a content creator my heart broke when your lens smashed 😢. May you have a stellar week of good things ahead.
Idiots? Not at all. You are on a steep learning curve, cut youselves some slack! Entertaining? YES definitely! I think it is good to see a video like this, it reminds us we are all human and that the lives of youtubers is not all insta perfect.
Sorry to laugh at your expense, but you made our day. That gazebo getting away was just so hilarious! Keep up the good work. The van is looking fabulous. And thanks for sharing the laughs. 🤣😂🤣😂
Our heart broke for you guys when your lens got smashed 😢 glad to hear you can get it fixed even if it sucks big time! Good luck with the rest of the paint and hope the last month of winter gets better 🙌
You guys understand 🥺 turns out it's going to be $2k to get it fixed so we're probably just going to be buying a new cheaper one. Cheers guys! So stoked we were able to get a small window to get it painted 🙌🏼
The realities of life! It was so good to see you laughing your way through the week (except for the lense which was devastating). Some people would have thrown things in a bad tempered manner; you handled it well. The finer details, towards the end of a project, always take longer than expected but are worth the time. You are creating a palace on wheels which is shaping up to be lovely.
We all have disaster days but it’s how you recover that matters and you guys have done extremely well. Look at the bright side, your lens only cost $700 instead of $3k, you got to chat to the property owner, you now know that the ratings for Bunnings stuff is accurate and most importantly your relationship and health are still good. My wife and I have done some of the dumbest things that we look back on now and laugh or realise how lucky we were. How about driving through pouring rain towing our van only to realise we had left the roof hatch open, or driven off but we left the caravan door wide open. A lucky one was we had towed the van all day and it was only when we pulled up for the night that I realised I hadn’t locked the hitch onto the tow ball so the van had just been sitting on the tow ball and could have come off at anytime. I still shake my head at that one. These mistakes were over a period of years but we certainly remember them and that’s how you learn, so now we have check lists and while I pack up outside my wife packs up inside then, my wife double checks the outside. I think you guys would be amazed if you thought about how much you have learned together. Cheers, Stuart. Canberra.
Good to keep it real. To be honest this is what happens and how I feel every time I DIY anything so don't feel bad , you've achieved so much successfully. love how you keep on laughing and joking even when things aren't going to plan. Remember they're not problems, only further opportunities to do it differently, or better
Hey guys. While I feel your pain, particularly with the camera lens, this was a hilarious vlog. The marque - Meagan trying to hold it - and locking yourselves out of the house had me pmsl'ing. Keep sharing the bad with the good. Love yas both.
You guys are so funny. I’m glad you didn’t scrap this vid - if you can laugh at yourself you’ll always be happy, we all do ‘idiot’ things. Glad the lens repair was cheaper than originally thought too, can you insure the camera gear separately for the future?
This video is epic, couldn't stop laughing when you were putting the gazebo together. The caravan is looking good, love the laughter guys, good to see you are having fun cheers Phil
Love your video guys a little bit frustrating for you but very enjoyable it shows reality of doing the things you are doing pity about the camera lens keep the videos coming along all the best Ron
I felt guilty laughing but all the "disasters" will bring you many moments of joy retelling the story around camp-fires of the future. Very sorry about your lens though. And yes it's a splash back in Australia so good job. Thank you for sharing and as usual you should both be proud ❤
wow....what a week a vlog makes!!!!!.......you guys are a natural!. love the banter, the two and throw between you both and of course the progress. Thank you for the "special thanks" for the Stick on tiles!....the family all gathered to see that when i heard it...and played it back to everyone at least 20-30 times!!!!!!hahahahaha....we love you guys! looking forward to next video. Megan......keep sharp objects away from Jack! he is dangerous. cheers guys!!!!! monty
I enjoyed this video. I thought it was funny. It just shows you’re human like everyone else. We all have bad days and good days. And I feel very sorry for you damaging your lens because I know Megan likes her photography. ❤👍
My misses at home..." well you stuffed that up now didn't ya greg... me, " Yeah but I was just doing what Jack showed me"...😂😂😂 That was funny ep guys. Safe builds guys🤙
Thanks for the video. I think portable power packs are the way of the future for a dual battery setup. Most dual battery setups today are way over kill and cost many 1,000s when all you need is either a battery box or a power pack. If I ever do another rear setup it will be a power pack.
Great week of learning, NO experience is wasted, ( show me some-one who has never made a mistake, & I'll show you some-one who has never made anything. ) Hang in there. PS. word of caution - methylated spirits contains an oil which may cause lifting of any adhesive, surfaces for painting would be better prepared with a wash of sugar soap, self-adhesive tiles may be prepared with a wipe with isopropyl alcohol on the surface to be covered. Looking forward to the next chapter, great effort Jack & Megan.
Be aware those stick on splashback tiles adhesive is not good (don't like any summer heat) and they will start peeling in time as happened to our 1980's fully renovated Roma 17"6" caravan which really peeved me off. The only way they will stay stuck down is be using lamenex adhesive glue. Yeah a good idea to fully prep the exterior cladding of any imperfections/dents etc with body filler & sanding before you prime as once the fresh colour goes on it shows up imperfections even more. So moral of the story is "don't rush the prep work" otherwise you will regret it later
We did wonder how they'll go in the heat! Appreciate the tip with the glue. It ended up looking much better after working on smoothing out a few more dents! Pretty happy with how it's looking now
Thanks for another entertaining episode of your Caravan rebuild. The wind seems to be playing havoc over there, it is also blowing quite strong over here in QLD. Big High in the bite. I feel sorry for the damage to your lens. I hope things go a bit smoother for the rest of the build. Cheers Tony
This is one of the funniest videos we have watched in a long time. We are really sorry about your lens though not funny at all. Can’t wait for you to finish. 😂❤
16:30 sorry but you guys were a crack up trying to put that marquee together 😂. I was saying you were doing it such a hard way and you must have heard as the next shot you had dropped half a leg. Much easier height to work with. It works as a great cover for the the tank 😅. Thanks guys for the laughs, I know it wasn't much one for you but you made my Sunday. This week will be better ❤
Thankyou for such an entertaining video. We were thinking it should have had the Benny Hill theme music in the background with that Marquee mishap. We do hope the weather improves for you both. It’s great always seeing your ideas.
I was once told this, if something does not go well in life think about this. Will it matter in 6 or 12mths? If it's a real disaster the answer is yes, if it will not matter in a couple of months time then it was just an inconvenience, not a disaster. Life is full of 'inconveniences' disasters are not really that common when you think about it. You have each other and good health. Enjoy what you have and the accomplishments you have made. Keep up the great job.
Love the videos guys You guys are one of my fav youtubers? Look forward to watching your videos and the caravan build has given me so many ideas and insights on yhe same journey im going to do shortly
😳Sheesh bro.. gotta learn to ensure u got enough supplies for the job at hand before starting.. Aand, we as men often think we can work stuff out ourselves...and we can, but reading the destruction manual is def the more intelligent approach, as u get to learn all of what the tool can do and how, rather than simply bumbling through and maybe using it to its full potential.. 😂 The van is looking brillz 💯 we all have disaster wks.. keep up the positivity. U guys rock 🎉
Guys, thanks for the laughs and importantly authenticity. We want to see the real life not perfection cause life is messy. The caravan is looking great. Are you going to fabricate a decent looking toolbox for the front of the van?
You guys are doing an amazing job! And videos like today are so relatable ❤ plan A, B, and C go wrong all the time in life but I love how positive you both are being (happy dancing) when things don't go to plan 🥰 keep up the fantastic work, you have got this!! Love the updates every Sunday 😊
Believe me you two every one has days like it. You are definitely not an idiot just need to slow down and think what you’re doing as take your time. Looking good guys
Great video guys.. So glad you showed the ugly alon with the good. Too many channels edit out the bad and only show the good. You guysa re authentic and this is the way all builds go...somedays it is just better to admit dfeat and start afresh a few days later. Thanks for showing how it really is!
Put a UV filter on your lens, cheap insurance. I run them on all of mine. Keep up the great work guys, we are following your progress for inspiration to work on ours.
Just find all your "stuff ups" put them all into one video add the appropriate music and call it "Caravan Comedy Hour" because we all know that we love laughing at other people's misfortune. LOL
Sorry about your lens. I remember when Max did much the same thing when he was building his van, when the grinder ruined his expensive lens. Hope yous can get it fixed.
i am thinking of getting a ecoflow for my van, I got an old dual battery setup with solar panels, the 2nd battery not charging now and solar panel needs replacing, so was going to remove old electrical system and just use a portable electrical system like ecoflow with a folable solar panel.
That was a really funny video... Thanks for showing it.....Also sometimes shit happens..I too have broken a very expensive lens at the start of a holiday... Looking forward to your next episode
There's a hook on your tripod on the bottom of the centre extension post (middle of the legs, under the head) and its for hanging weight ornyour camera bag on to stop your tripod from falling over.
Love the videos - it’s good to see both ups and downs. Also, did by any chance film how you got the wooden doors out of the overhead cabinet and replace with the Perspex? I have them in my van and I’m buggered if I know how they come out! I want to sand and paint them, though the Perspex looks interesting 🤨
Just so you know the sign bond in your shower area has a gloss and satin side blue is gloss green is satin I noticed you have green on one and blue side on other 👍👍
You are not an idiot Jack. Life throws us curve balls when we least expect them. I've had a few and there's me myself and I. One of us deals, the others comes down on all of us and then I've sorted it or paid for help as is life for a nana😊
Gday legends, try using an airless spray gun. You should be able to hire it from Kennards. It will save a lot of time and reduce your overspray. Which means you’ll get more paint on the job instead of loosing it in the air. Well done and keep up the great work to you both
Here’s my thought: Stop, breathe, lock up the van & house & head out for a weeks’ break to the beach- I get that you’re keen to finish, but a break will allow you to reset & you may well find that you haven’t lost much time once you come back refreshed…. ❤❤❤
In Australia , they are more commonly known as splashbacks. I find it fascinating some subtle difference like these between US & AU. Like car license plates are known here as number plates, but in the US they are known as plate numbers. 😁
This video was GOLD 😀 The marquee was well worth the effort and whatever you paid, very entertaining 🤣 Will your contents insurance cover the cost of the lens I'm wondering?
Jack! Please, please don’t stand inside the caravan draw bar when detaching from the vehicle. If the caravan happens to roll backwards it would be a terrible injury. 😮
I think maybe this week was a bit of a... hmm what's the word... disaster? 😅😆
We hope you enjoy joining us for a few laughs and a couple of tears this week, we'll see you next Sunday morning for a more successful week of building 🫶

Best part about Sundays- feels like I’m catching up with friends!
Love to hear that! Thanks so much for spending your Sunday morning with us ☕️
I second this
Cheers Dan!
Agreed!
Agreed
In the future when you're camped up on a beach you'll look back and say remember that day things weren't to plan but look at us now. Well done so far. Cheers.
Yessss love that! Will have to remember to say that to each other next time things go wrong 😆

The key to a good result is EXCELLENT PREPARATION.
Nothing ventured nothing gained, super effort by you both.
Cheers Nathan! We're nearly getting to the end! 🙌🏼

Just getting the gazebo together as it flies off screen, absolutely hilarious! It can only get better hey! Thanks for sharing
Good to see Ollie with you guys again… Ollie appreciation post
You're not an idiot, you're human. We can all relate to events and days like these. You're doing great! Keep going. Love the content.
Gosh guys. We laughed and cried with you. As a content creator my heart broke when your lens smashed 😢. May you have a stellar week of good things ahead.

Luv it... laughed my head of over the canopy...we all know you'll get there in the end so cheer up guys❤!
Lol, this was the best, made me laugh 😂. You guys are doing an amazing job. Keep doing you 😊
Haha so happy we could make you laugh 😆 thanks for watching!
Great vid guys we all have days like this if we’re honest thanks for being real had a good laugh and reminiscing some of my own cluster muff ups 😂😜
Hey guys. While I feel your pain, particularly with the camera lens, this was a hilarious vlog. The marque - Meagan trying to hold it - and locking yourselves out of the house had me pmsl'ing. Keep sharing the bad with the good. Love yas both.
😂 thanks for your amazing intertainment! You all give us a woderfull 😂! Well Done! Love from me in Sweden!

that marquee sequence gave me the best laugh I have had in a long time, glad you could see the funny side of it too.
Haha so glad we could make you laugh 😆
This video is epic, couldn't stop laughing when you were putting the gazebo together. The caravan is looking good, love the laughter guys, good to see you are having fun cheers Phil
Haha so happy we could make you laugh with that bit too, we were losing it 🤣 thanks so much for watching Phil!
This is the best you tube vid ever. You made us laugh till we cried! The caravan is looking great legends! Can't wait to see it finished!
Haha so happy we could make you laugh 😆 thanks so much, so excited to get it finished!
Another great video- I feel your frustration ❤️❤️❤️ you’re doing great - you’ve achieved so much already with this build, you WILL get there!!❤️❤️
You are making a very cool caravan) You will succeed, repairs are always difficult)
That was sooooooo entertaining, you had me in stiches. Keep the stuff ups coming, 😀😀... I hope next week is better for you both
Love this episode. It's better to see you as real humans and as yourselves. No one is perfect, and nothing ever goes right in this world.
Love your video guys a little bit frustrating for you but very enjoyable it shows reality of doing the things you are doing pity about the camera lens keep the videos coming along all the best Ron

Haha don't worry, we laughed watching them back too, especially the gazebo haha. Thanks for watching!
wow....what a week a vlog makes!!!!!.......you guys are a natural!. love the banter, the two and throw between you both and of course the progress. Thank you for the "special thanks" for the Stick on tiles!....the family all gathered to see that when i heard it...and played it back to everyone at least 20-30 times!!!!!!hahahahaha....we love you guys! looking forward to next video. Megan......keep sharp objects away from Jack! he is dangerous. cheers guys!!!!! monty
Haha absolutely love that! Thanks again, I think the tiles are going to be perfect once we fix up the area around them! 🙏🏼
Omg... 🤣😂
I love how you guy's keep it real !
I was crying watching this ep. Thank you, just what I needed, a good old belly laugh 🤣🤣🥰
I enjoyed this video. I thought it was funny. It just shows you’re human like everyone else. We all have bad days and good days. And I feel very sorry for you damaging your lens because I know Megan likes her photography. ❤👍
I remember when all the marquees used to be like that. It makes you appreciate the easy up marquees and quick awnings on the side of the car!
Great vlog and wishing you better luck for the next week. Never not put a video up they are all worth the watch time 💯%
My misses at home..." well you stuffed that up now didn't ya greg... me, " Yeah but I was just doing what Jack showed me"...😂😂😂
That was funny ep guys.
Safe builds guys🤙
Another great video and don't worry Jack it's totally a bloke thing with all the so called disasters I have them all the time lol! Loving it!
Omg me and my partner haven't laughed so hard in long time . 😂 Love these videos can't wait for the bathroom one . U guys are doing a great job
The marquee build was funnier than last episodes guessing game 😂
Hahah glad you enjoyed it 🤣
Thankyou for such an entertaining video. We were thinking it should have had the Benny Hill theme music in the background with that Marquee mishap. We do hope the weather improves for you both. It’s great always seeing your ideas.
Haha that music would have been perfect 😆 thankfully we have a couple clear days forecast for this week! 🙌🏼
There is a device that pulls out dents. Look for paintless dent repair. It would be crazy to putty and sand all those dents. Thanks for your video!
You are showing how it is. It's great keep up the good work
Abosolute gold !! I’d be lost without my Sunday mornings with you pair of ratbags 😂.
Haha glad we could provide some entertainment with all our fails this week 😆 thanks for watching!
Love the episode so funny with the wind
Funniest video ever ! 😂 except for the damaged lens, sorry that happened to you both 😢 keep battling on guys.
Apart from wrecking a serious lense this video was awesome, total reality right there, hahahahha love it 😃👍✔️

You make my Sundays at work better, Heck yeah
Appreciate you spending your Sunday morning with us! Hope you enjoy the video ☺️
Only just started watching and I'm already having nightmares about touching paint up on my old Suzuki 😂
As a short person I feel you Megan and I was rolling around laughing 😂😂😂😂
Hahaha my knees literally buckled from laughing when Jack couldn't get his words out 😂
@@itsJackandMegan I could see it happening 🤣🤣🤣

Wow been there myself know exactly what you are going through just step back & look at the larger picture not the detail have fun
There's a hook on your tripod on the bottom of the centre extension post (middle of the legs, under the head) and its for hanging weight ornyour camera bag on to stop your tripod from falling over.
Love your show guys, thank you
Love the videos - it’s good to see both ups and downs. Also, did by any chance film how you got the wooden doors out of the overhead cabinet and replace with the Perspex? I have them in my van and I’m buggered if I know how they come out! I want to sand and paint them, though the Perspex looks interesting 🤨
Just so you know the sign bond in your shower area has a gloss and satin side blue is gloss green is satin I noticed you have green on one and blue side on other 👍👍
Thanks mate, Megan noticed that straight away, that was another stuff up 🫠😂
You are not an idiot Jack.
Life throws us curve balls when we least expect them.
I've had a few and there's me myself and I.
One of us deals, the others comes down on all of us and then I've sorted it or paid for help as is life for a nana😊
mirtle is looking great
Paint on the fridge...Paint on the fridge...Paint on the fridge....Nearly!
Hahah I thought the same thing watching it back 🤣
Gday legends, try using an airless spray gun.
When life throws you Chinese instructions.... You just have to LAUGH!! 🎉
In the end the instructions ended up being the simplest part 😂😂
It would have been easier to re-clad the exterior Guys!. But Hilarious! You could be a comedy act, your so funny.
Guys we had a awning like that it was so bad it buckled. So buy a gazebo 1 or 2 perso set up.
Have spare keys hidden for your house, van and car. You will thank me if you ever need one :-) Fabulous episode! Keep them coming.
Nice work guys , Chin up
I know this video was painful for you guys, but genuinely one of my fav’s haha! Love the gazebo gone wrong 😂
Feel your pain this is our 40 year old vanilla slice
In the US we call those tiles "back splash" not splash back. Just saying!
Haha we thought it still sounded right!
In Australia , they are more commonly known as splashbacks. I find it fascinating some subtle difference like these between US & AU. Like car license plates are known here as number plates, but in the US they are known as plate numbers. 😁
This video was GOLD 😀
The marquee was well worth the effort and whatever you paid, very entertaining 🤣
Will your contents insurance cover the cost of the lens I'm wondering?
Jack! Please, please don’t stand inside the caravan draw bar when detaching from the vehicle. If the caravan happens to roll backwards it would be a terrible injury. 😮
My tip for filling paint guns after doing the same as you :) i use a soup ladle haha
