    It’s as if lightsabers were real we got to see exactly how they are constructed. After he was done if one didn’t know better you would expect a real blade to come out of it when activated lol! The work detail, the love and the quality is apex and I appreciate it all being shared.

The plecter labs has been out forever. How am I supposed to do this? Can you please tell me where i can find the rotating motor, the sound board and the crystal focus????

      @@Asherons The stuff from GOTH is to put all those things in. You start with the board/electronics...etc. I highly recommend joining one of the many custom lightsaber groups on fb and start researching. You've got some work to do. Sadly, sound boards are a bit difficult to come by right now (proffie, CFX, Verso...all in high demand with short supply).

    What really amazes me about this build is the amount of parts that all have to fit so perfectly with each other and the amount of time and prototyping this must have taken to get right. I'm currently working on my first custom fully-removable chassis and crystal chamber (modeling in Solidworks and 3D printing) and it's an incredibly complex balancing act between having the space to fit all the parts, cables, LEDs, etc., being able to wire it inside, being able to actually print it, and having it look awesome. I'm having a hard time with material precision tolerances (difference between model and print) with just one material on my prototypes, it boggles my mind how you managed to do it for a bunch of different materials! What's your process for designing and building all these custom chassis?

  • @steveothehulk
    @steveothehulk 2 роки тому

    imagin if a wire goes or something it would literally need stripped to bits to repair it, all those glued parts too would be a nightmare, looks nice tho,

    • @GOTH3Designs
      @GOTH3Designs  2 роки тому

      It neither needs complete stripping to fix wiring, nor to unglue parts. Most of the parts that would need to be dismounted use screws specifically to also to be dismounted.
      Then generally, it is important to have a good install, tested at each step, and use good materials (good PTFE wires, ... etc), whatever the saber or chassis.

      You can buy the 3D printed components via Shapeways, the electronics from a place like Saber Armory, and the rest is fairly common hardware. Just wanted to make it known, all my top favorite grafflex chassis I’ve ever seen have all been (coincidentally) Goth3d creations. I just like looking at various custom builds and projects and the ones that really made me take notice happened to so far always ended up being Goth3d amazingly! I have yet to find one from a different designer/saber smith that hasn’t ended up being revealed as a Goth3d. I will, however, mention that Ethan Zimmer has been responsible for building 3 of those top 5 favorite projects of all time and he’s done some very small, but ingenious modifications to his Goth3d designs projects that I consider overall superior to the original designs that I feel would be beneficial to either implement or offer as “options” either in the files or parts offered for sale. These are obviously still completely Goth3d creations, but I wanted to at least make it a point to mention Ethan and his work. While he doesn’t really make complete designs from scratch, he’s my favorite saborsmith because he’s constantly making creative modifications to existing designs that completely set his builds apart from others. Get Ethan and 4 others to build the same Goth chassis, guaranteed Ethan’s will stand out in some noticeable way that will cause most to prefer it over the other 4 despite technically being the “same” hilt. . Most are improvements that either facilitate a maintenance task or enables a user to quickly modify something or otherwise corrects an aspect of the design that might unintentionally hinder serviceability or cause some difficulty with something. Mostly small things that presented annoyances or changes to an unnecessary aesthetic that was might be unnecessarily complicated or fragile and offered no real benefit or possibly even created extra steps with some tasks. If you aren’t familiar, I suggest singling out his videos featuring his Goth3d projects and note the unique mods he does.
