2 years late but wanted to say thank you for the in depth review. I was eyeing up a 3 door version with all the exact same specs and this has convinced me to buy it!

Can some one please let me know is the inner side of the headlight will work or it’s just for the show in day light light. Only outer side of the bulb is working in bmw 1 series model
The inside is only the day time running light.

Where did you get the bigger screen from and installed?
It’s an option from the factory. The original buyer has selected the professional media package. This replaces the standard 6.5 inch screen with a larger 8.8 inch screen.
@@LloydBMWSouthLakes is it possible to have one fit in after the factory? I am looking to buy one and those within my budget don't have it.
@@muhammedkeser7064 not possible from BMW. There are non OEM ones on the market but won’t offer the quality of the OEM screen.

No sports gearbox :(
MAI Correct it’s the 205 Automatic gearbox in the 118i. No flappy paddles.

would love one if the fuel economy wasn't worse than the m140
You must drive different to me. The M140i was usually 18/20 mpg as the 118i was usually around 34 mpg.
@@LloydBMWSouthLakes mainly motorway my friends 140 could get around 38 and that was similar to his old 118i. I personally haven't driven either but that's just what he told me
Wow 38 mpg from an M140i is very good. Think the best I got was mid 20s. The official Fuel consumption (WLTP) was 32.1 - 32.5 mpg.
