The top siphon jet is pretty much there to push waste up into the trap way more effectively. If it wasn't there, I think you'd end up with more "floaters" than you would otherwise.

What an interesting find. The trapway shape as well as the double siphon jet make this very unique.

Interesting. I’ve only seen these toilets with a tank. And those are also quite rare!
