As a fantasy massive fan I need to say that music from medieval times has something magical inside which is doing something weird to me, like creating a strong sentiment inside me, feeling that I want to belong to a fantasy world and forget about everything else. Well, I think it's time to play Heroes Might and Magic lol
While you are penning. Just feel the writing apparatus in your hand. No computer nor iPhone but savoring the motion of penning, writing. The music is incredible
I recently started listening to this style of music, thanks to my loving husband. I can study, sleep and just concentrate on whatever I'm doing at the time. I can put this on the living room tv and let it play. To get the best experience of the music from the video is to listen with your headphones 🎧 or in the car 🚗. You can hear every part of the songs. I love it 😍and I appreciate whoever posted this video, you are helping a lot of people out there who love medieval music!
I still remember how this music was played in taverns back in 1456. I used to dance with ladies and sing serenades. What joyful time it was. Now I'm old and wrinkled, and filled with memories of my youth (sighs and wipes a tear from the wrinkled face).
It's a strange thing, to somehow feel nostalgia for a time you didn't get to experience. Maybe it's the idea of a simpler time much different than ours, or maybe the music. Gives such a feeling of wonder and mystery. Fascinating.
perhaps because its more natural which our bodies are designed for. for natural music and for nature. things we have long lost for the most part. we are built for adventure and the outdoors. ;D
How do you know you didn't experience it? ;-) Maybe this "nostalgia" is a distant memory. Our brains turn to mush when we die, but our souls live on with the FEELING MEMORY of our experience. That is what seems like nostalgia, which is more a feeling than a conceptual memory, right?
Friends: “so what type of music do u listen to” Me: “oh u know, that old school type music son” Friends: “ohh so like the Beatles or Elvis Presley?” Me:”nahhhhh......”
@Cathwolf Ah, glad there's someone out there whose somewhat like me. What do you like about the mood of medieval music? Isn't there a mystical tone to it?
@Anthony Paradiso glad to see someone who appreciates the middle ages without romanticizing them. I love to imagine being there, but I also know I wouldn't have actually liked to live there.
It’s amazing how much even just the sound of the surf soothes anxiety and contributes to a more peaceful feeling inside. I play this while at work. Even though I can’t view the scenery while working, it still calming and takes my mind to a beautiful beach somewhere. Thank you.
To anybody reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind may clarity replace confusion. may peace and calmness fill your life.
I didn't realize how much of a nerd I truly am until I found myself listening to this to read Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, as translated by JRR Tolkien, before becoming tired and just letting this play in the background as I go about my day, feeling like Merlin in Camelot.
I just Googled it, and it is still alive and well! They do really cool re-enactments of Medieval and Renaissance stuff, in costume. People make up a persona and have a great time together. Check it out!

"The grass is always greener on the other side". I think people are just fed up with social media and the direction the world is heading. They want to live without stress, I assume.
A good way to do that is to just have fun and enjoy what you enjoy. Social media is supposed to be about having fun. A good rule I have is to just ignore or otherwise minimize the negative content I watch here. If it seems bad or unfunny, I don't watch it.
music really do have the power to take you way back in those days where you've never really been before or even exist yet, but felt like you've lived it.
I used to drink skooma, fight with giants, dance with elves, drink mead with dwarves, walk on the grasslands as the freest wolf in this kingdom, until I took an arrow in the knee.
I was walking along with my fellow travelers, until we found a lost cat, he looks of brown, white, black, and a dash of red mixed with some blue, maybe this is from a witchcraft project? Anyone lost this cat?

I'm creating a final project that has to do with Beowulf for my Medieval Literature class and I love how this is the first comment I see as soon as I play this.
People talking about the ages and I'm over here wondering how does that guy even get in and out of his desk. Does he just live there? Does he crawl under or over it? I think there's a hinged portion?
Hi i play old school dungeon synth with dark fantasy medieval influences, visit my youtube channel and tell me what you think about my music,my album COMING SOON,thanks
The painting is truly fascinating. He seems to be a monk transcribing a book. With very little room, he must put the book on top of the book he's transcribing. As has been mentioned, the pile of books over the fireplace (with small fire lit?) could be properly arranged on the shelf, but he is clearly too busy and dedicated to worry about organizing. And as has been noted, it's quite the little corner, it would be hard to get in there (climb under?). But it's all very cozy - he is comfortable and focused and will work for many hours straight. Not even a drink nearby, he couldn't be bothered (or maybe, as a monk, he is denying himself of such things). It's really a terrific, evocative painting. So my main question is - what is this painting called and who painted it? Anyone know?
@@stevenstandridge2723 but that's literally a photo. I mean someone set the scene up and took an actual real life picture with a camera. This isn't a drawing it's just an actual real life photo lol (fck im gonna get wooshed)
What a beautiful photo to accompany this lovely music. Not that I went to Oxford in the middle ages - I went several centuries later - but can imagine exactly this kind of scene. Elements of it still persist. That midnight focus and dedication, the gown. Nostalgic.

As a fantasy massive fan I need to say that music from medieval times has something magical inside which is doing something weird to me, like creating a strong sentiment inside me, feeling that I want to belong to a fantasy world and forget about everything else. It's a strange thing, to somehow feel nostalgia for a time you didn't get to experience. Maybe it's the idea of a simpler time much different than ours, or maybe the music. Gives such a feeling of wonder and mystery. Fascinating.
perhaps because its more natural which our bodies are designed for. for natural music and for nature. things we have long lost for the most part. we are built for adventure and the outdoors. ;D

@@HoneywoodDrive this music has nothing to do with nature
How do you know you didn't experience it? ;-)
Maybe this "nostalgia" is a distant memory. Our brains turn to mush when we die, but our souls live on with the FEELING MEMORY of our experience. That is what seems like nostalgia, which is more a feeling than a conceptual memory, right?
