I am a Chorus junkie (after years of playing in Police & Rush cover bands). I have tried Ton's, and finally found my F.T.T. Tri-Avatar Multidimensional Chorus = Phenomenal. May grab the Dimension for a small Acoustic Pedalboard. Not into that Seasick-Warble. Nice Demo. Enjoying your channel alot. Update: purchased the DC-2W and love it as my 2nd Chorus.
Very good test. But the DC-2w must be played in full stereo. Then you can compare this chorus with the Strymon Ola, for example. You can't get this sound in mono as you did here. About mono, the best comparison could have been : ThorpyFX Deep Oggin, Boss CE-2c, Providence Anadime Chorus ... with the crunch tone, not the clean. After having tried tons of chorus, here is my go to : - Jam Waterfall (it's a CE-1) for the pristine clean of a Boogie Mark II or the spanky clean of a Soldano SLO100, or your favorite Fender. Great with every single coil pickups. - Boss CE-2w for the crunch of a Matchless DC30 or an old Marshall, especially with a 51' Nocaster or 52' Telecaster. - MXR Black Label Chorus (a kind of M234) for the lead, in front of a Soldano SLO100 or a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. It works before a Boss SD-1w in front of a JCM800. Humbuckers of course. Gibson, ESP, Jackson here. - EWS Arion SCH-Z Stereo Chorus for the fusion tone with a Bogner Ecstasy. In the way of Landau or Lukather, in case you are in love with the 80's. Works great for jazz too. - Providence Anadime Chorus on the clean for ambient chorus : it wets a lot. For progressive rock or prog metal for example (Devin Townsend). But the Anadime doesn't work with high gain. It's a CE-2 with a mix knob. - EHX Small Clone if you are in a cover band, for the Police or Nirvana thing... only! :) There are many others. The JHS Emperor is a kind of Arion. The Retro Vibe Chorus is a CE-1 copy that can works great with the distortion of a Marshall or a Friedman : you can get the Zakk Wylde tone with too. And if you prefer Eddie's tone, well, it's easy with the EVH. The Moollon chorus is great for the lead too. Etc. It's endless... unless if you compare what can be compared. In the chorus world, it's important to know if you gonna use the pedal on clean, crunch or high gain. There are three families here.
Let it be known that the Chase Bliss has more his than a McDonald's fryer. I ordered one based off the video and was somewhat disappointed, though they do admit it is a natural part of the pedal. What else would you expect from a pedal made to emulate a warped record?
it's probably also the most complicated circuit, i think all these options and possibilities need lots of parts and unusual approach that could result in more noise, just my guess.
That first portion I dialed them all in to be as close to each other as I could, the DC-2w is subtle and I dialed the rate of the others off whatever it had set approximately and then just set the others up for what I considered a usable sound. I have all 4 of these because I really like them, but I have learned that I personally prefer a darker chorus sound. So when running the Oggin, I prefer to have the tone down. I really like the WV Hifi because I have control of both lag and tone. DC-2w is both crisper and more subtle than the others. CE-2w has a couple different flavors, I find the standard CE-2 more subtle. The CE-1 settings is that watery, sounds great but that sound just isn't my cup of tea. As far as choosing one, I don't really have a preference. Just depends on the situation I'm in. They all have their own unique sounds and slight differences. Oggin has some unique vibrato sounds I dig.
@@TriPedalReviews which do you find to be more noisy with the mix/blend all the way up? I have the newer CBA chorus and man that white noise kicks in quite noticeably
@@empathysgone96 Warped Vinyl Hifi, on both the noise is more heavily tied to the tone knob. The higher that is, the more noticeable the noise will be. I don't run my tone high on chorus, so not a big deal to me.
Very great demo. Thx. 1st thing I noticed on the chase bliss is white noise. 😱 I have just read the generation lost has a knob that actually adds that. Does this also? Dont think so. Impressed by the boss ce-w2
No, the Chase Bliss's white noise increases when you crank the tone control higher. Isn't a separate control though. I did a lofi shootout with the Gen Loss and Chase Bliss Pedals. You can check that out if interested. Time stamps are in the description of the video so you can jump around to what you're interested in. ua-cam.com/video/58t2-kKVLBc/v-deo.html
Very digital and detune style. All new digital choruses are very detune and vibrato. Analog ones has something different in it. especially I love choruses from analog flangers such us ehx electric mistress and arion flanger . New DC 2 waza very similar to Boss DC 3. Did you try fromel seraph and avatar chorus? Fromel has its own class but the problem is poping noise in engage switch I hope they are going to fix it soon, amazing pedal especially in stereo

Thank you sir!
I love how the Oggin and Chase Bliss have this nice Dark and Bright contrast in regards to how they sound
Beautiful loop, thanks for the demo
Thank you! Hope it was helpful.
For a dude that doesn’t love chorus, you sure have a nice collection going here. And man, some excellent sounds, just killer
Thanks! FWIW, Vibrato & Trem were also on my hate list a few years ago :) We all saw how that turned out.
Tri Pedal Reviews lol, you right
Thanks for this man! It's like you read my mind.
You are welcome, happy I could be helpful!

Jezus.
I love the melody, where is it from?
I have the ce2w and the dodfx65 the 2 sound incredible despite the price difference
Thank you, I just made it up before recording. Wanted a loop with some higher notes in it. Never tried the DOD before!

Which do you feel would be more fitting for acoustic, the chase bliss or deep oggin? Looking for more of a shimmer lush chorus
warped vinyl has a pretty high noise floor, suprising as its the most expensive of the bunch.
it's probably also the most complicated circuit, i think all these options and possibilities need lots of parts and unusual approach that could result in more noise, just my guess.
Great shootout man. If you had to choose only one pedal between the ce-2 or dc-2 which would you pick as the pedal you like better. Thanks
DC-2 has a certain crispness to it that I prefer slightly less than the CE-2's character, so I'd pick the CE-2
Wow, even with headphones on, the usable tones for me on the pedals sound VERY close to each other. Any preference on your part, and why?
That first portion I dialed them all in to be as close to each other as I could, the DC-2w is subtle and I dialed the rate of the others off whatever it had set approximately and then just set the others up for what I considered a usable sound. Boss ce-2 waza craft : the sound!
So to get virbrato on the deep oggin do you have to turn blend all the way up like the CBA?
Yessir, any blend of dry signal results in chorus. So blend has to be maxed for all wet.
