Maybe its just because I am a big guy and hyper vigilant🤣 about them... but man for it being so cold in the shop you are putting a lot of faith in that plastic patio chair.
Cap, you say you're not a mechanic but you should be damn proud of yourself. A tear down and rebuild, and it runs good, you should feel proud. Good job sir.
That engine sounds GREAT! You did a first class job rebuilding it. Your not your average home owner. Your average is top! Look at the loader! It runs! The FoBaru ! pretty much everything you work on turns out great. Lights in the work shop, Paddle boat...EVERYTHING! Love watching you, Great Hummer, always smiling, and a little self defalcation, It never bothers anyone! Thanks for your time, PLEASE keep it up!😀
One good thing about doing youtube is you usually have video of how things came apart for reference. Years ago my brother was working on the rear end of a Bolens tractor and he made recordings of the disassembly. At the time the technology available was a big VHS camcorder and if you wanted to double check something you had to go put the tape in a VCR and pray the resolution was good enough 😂
I’m so happy that you finally got that o ring to seat without tearing. It was stressing me out and I know that was a fraction of what you were feeling.
To quote Mel Brookes in Bride of Frankenstein, “She’s Alive!” Cap’n, doncha love it when you’ve cobbled together old parts and new in birthing a lengthy creation… and it responds to your wishes by taking that first gasp of life? Congrats bud!!!
A whole lot of take one step forward and two steps back, but a significant amount of progress was made, and she lives again! Getting closer to being ready to go to work again! Plenty of laughs with Mike!
That sinking feeling when you crank and crank, and see smoke coming from the exhaust... but it won't start. Then the feeling of accomplishment when it fires up !!
Little victories, getting that seal in (finally) without damage. And love that old fan belt, looked like an 8yr Olds smile with all those missing teeth.
You are one of the hardest working person I know. There is nothing you won’t tackle, I wish I had you’re, “ I can do anything attitude, it might take me a little longer, but I’ll figure it out”. Great work on all your projects, love your channel.
I'm so happy to hear your 755 back from the dead. It sounds like a brand new tractor. Hopefully, it will last you a long time after you finish fixing the little bugs.
Never let a new engine with new rings ever idle for long, until broke in! You want full operational temp, then run at 1500 or 2000 rpm for a half hour! Watch oil pressure and temps, and you will have an awesome engine! Those are awesome engines! I use to rebuilt those at a National Supply Chain. We built long and short blocks! Tamar is one of the best garden tractor engines for sure! Boats too! Good job Mike!
Captain, I'm not a restoration guys either. I bend things, break stuff, loose stuff, get mad and beat on things, scatter my tools, but we are out there trying and doing stuff and eventually after a few goes , we get it to happen. Neil K gives me the heebie jeebies because everything is too perfect. Congrats on the build. Love your work from AUS.
@8:30 - I've been 'organizing' my various parts collections. Mostly vintage racing bicycles, parts and various tools. Sorting like parts and tools into bins and drawer organizers. I'm about 25% done. There is a small organizer with my Tweezer collection that I carefully stored so I could easily find it. Fast forward to this week when I found a Splinter in my foot. You guessed it, can't find the Tweezer bin for the life of me! Up til 3 months ago there was a pair of decent tweezers in half a dozen places around my shop and house. That is no longer the case, and I have Zero tweezers. And the splinter is still in my foot. Oh well...
Hi Mike. I'm with you about "putting things away". They always end up in the last place you would look. That little diesel is purring like a kitten! Nice work! Put on my "not a welder" shirt for the first time today. Fits great and is real nice quality. Thanks! 😃
Thanks Mike! It always seems like a miracle that one of these machines actually starts up with all its intricacies and chances of failure, but you got it working. Well done, thanks. 😊
Always good when an engine you've re-built starts up, however it's getting it continually running is the real gem. Won't be long now before she'll but up and running around the homestead. 👍
She sounded great! And, I HATE reassembly. You always fear looking down and seeing a part left off the assembly! And why is it, it's always the part buried belly deep inside! Great video! Thanks Mike. Lee
Mike nice work mate your living proof that with time and patience and some mechanical know how you dont have to take the tractor to the shop, and saved money can go to other projects Kym Adelaide
Will it start and run? he says, absolutely no doubt in my mind, and I wrote this at the very start of the video, and I also know from experience that this vid is going to be great! Thanks for the update, as always, I enjoyed watching.
Well done Mike!!! I tend to hold my breath on the first startup. It's a great feeling when they fire up and a big letdown when something isn't quite right and they don't.
Everyone knows the law that states, “buy another one and you’ll find the one you lost next day”. Sod’s Law. So that fan belt turned up and turned out wrong anyway…… another one of Sod’s Laws. Keep up the great work!
Wouldn't suprise me a bit if John Deere filed a cease and desist order against ya for doing your own repairs. Good job Captain ... I'm sure the Admiral is proud. You didn't even burn down the shop ... today's a good day!
Hi Mike & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Mike & Friends Randy & Hello Mike & Good Luck With The John Deer Tractor & Mike & Friends Randy
Good morning sunshine! Glad to see yall finally got some sunshine! It's been really cold here too! Not as cold as there but colder than usual! Another great video! Thanks for sharing! Much love and respect from Henderson Ga USA
Good morning mike! And its so awsome to see my favorate peice of equipment you have up and running ,once again! Im a fan of those 55's great little machines! Id love to own one!
Good afternoon Mike! GREAT JOB! I'm sure I was just as excited as you when it popped off and was running like a champ! Can't wait to see it back in action! Have a good one! And check your email😁
Let that new rebuilt engine run at idle for around 6 hours before using it. I rebuilt a kubota 3 cylinder engine and only let it run about an hour before driving and my pistons and rings were damaged and had to rebuild it a second time. I let it idle for 12 hours and no problems with it now. I had a machine shop put new sleeves in and maybe it wasn’t correct or maybe I just used the machine too soon but everything moved smoothly and started right up, then bam!
I don't think this is very good advice in general for diesels. In fact it's pretty terrible advice if I'm being honest. While you want to limit high RPM for break in you shouldn't idle longer than it takes to get to operating temp.
You can wire the pull in wire for the fuel solenoid to the start circuit on your ignition switch since it's momentary just to pull it in till the hold circuit takes over. The modules on the 455's go bad and this is a fix for them.
Glad it started for you. It looked like it was getting fuel. Maybe the glow plugs weren't on long enough because of the cold weather. It fired quickly the second time. I have a 1025. Almost the same, I guess. It needs a lot of glow plug in cold weather.
Captain Kleeman, i was just thinking as you said it. you should put a old microwave oven in the shop to heat up small parts, save you trekking back to the house to do it.
Maybe its just because I am a big guy and hyper vigilant🤣 about them... but man for it being so cold in the shop you are putting a lot of faith in that plastic patio chair.
🤣🤣🤣
Cap, you say you're not a mechanic but you should be damn proud of yourself. A tear down and rebuild, and it runs good, you should feel proud. Good job sir.
Amazing how a little weather can cripple the mail and delivery services.
Great job on the puzzle solving.
Those yanmar engines are pretty good runners 🚜⚓️🛟
Well done Mike. That smile after the engine had run for a few minutes said it all. Pride in Accomplishment
We’ve seen that smile before when your inframe rebuild was completed and the 555 started up.
The 755 will be back in action very soon.
That engine sounds GREAT! You did a first class job rebuilding it. Your not your average home owner. Your average is top! Look at the loader! It runs! Now that was fun, eh Cap’n. Good to get er going again. She was a good little workhorse now set for longer life.
She's a ripper!
She's gonna ripper self right apart 🤣
Well done Mike! You amaze me with all the things/talents that you have!
One good thing about doing youtube is you usually have video of how things came apart for reference. Best feeling in the world is firing up a freshly built engine that you did all by yourself 😮
No, the best feeling is having that engine fire up and not hearing any loud knocking sounds.
I’m so happy that you finally got that o ring to seat without tearing. It was stressing me out and I know that was a fraction of what you were feeling.

A whole lot of take one step forward and two steps back, but a significant amount of progress was made, and she lives again! Getting closer to being ready to go to work again! Plenty of laughs with Mike!
Always a good feeling hearing it run again. I know the relief you must have felt. Happy for you.
That sinking feeling when you crank and crank, and see smoke coming from the exhaust... but it won't start.
Then the feeling of accomplishment when it fires up !!
Good to see/hear the 755 running, Progress!
Well done. Add master diesel mechanic to your list of accomplishments.
A fella could have a big smile when he gets his rebuilt engine started.😸
Perfect timing as usual. Your videos drop at 1pm here in Europe so my lunch break is sorted. Keep 'em coming Captain.
good job Mike, it's running just like new, great video 👍👍👍👍👍
Never doubted that you would have it back up and running awesome job
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Great to see the tractor running again. Wishing you and your family the best.
Little victories, getting that seal in (finally) without damage. And love that old fan belt, looked like an 8yr Olds smile with all those missing teeth.
Mike, everyone knows that in the Winter, you bring the mechanicing in the house and do it on the kitchen table😂
Wives like it when their manly man uses the kitchen table for engine work, really!
Uh oh, I guess that’s do it then apologise or SWMBO won’t be happy.
Hearing the 755 running again is a great sign of things to come. Stay safe Captain.

I have been waiting for this episode for a long time! Way to go! Cant wait to see her back to work! Nice job Mike!

Yup, have to let it run at idle long enough to warm the oil a little, it was 20 degrees out. Then 1/2 to 2/3 is what I've been told

At least you can see what's happening on the engine now, it was just a blur before with the broken engine mounts. Great job!
Thanks Mike! It always seems like a miracle that one of these machines actually starts up with all its intricacies and chances of failure, but you got it working. Well done, thanks. 😊
Thanks for the upload Captain. Always a hoot . Forget about it. ❤

You just did it better than the manufacturer. lol
Nothing better than the feeling of getting things right
It’s alive wonderful well done Captain 🧑✈️ sure sounds great looking forward to it going back to work long live the 755 👍👋🇨🇦
Captain Kleeman, job well done on the tractor. I can hardly wait until what is next! Thanks for sharing 👍 😊

You're doing great on the rebuild. Fixing it up save a lot of money and you know what you have, Stay safe and have fun.

Mike, working on your 755 reminds me of my high school days working on my 1950 Chevy in the cold, in Minnesota.
Wouldn't suprise me a bit if John Deere filed a cease and desist order against ya for doing your own repairs. Good job Captain ... I'm sure the Admiral is proud.
You didn't even burn down the shop ... today's a good day!
Great Job Mike!! In spite of your reluctance to organize a tad better, the time saving benefit it affords is worth the effort.
Hi Mike & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Mike & Friends Randy & Hello Mike & Good Luck With The John Deer Tractor & Mike & Friends Randy
Great job Mike! The 755 is back!
Your attention to detail is beyond reproach
She'll be back on the job in no time.
Good morning sunshine! Glad to see yall finally got some sunshine! It's been really cold here too! Not as cold as there but colder than usual! Another great video! Thanks for sharing! Much love and respect from Henderson Ga USA
Mike one thing you need to check is to see if the clutch needs adjusted. This should be done on all brands with manual transmissions.
It's hydrostatic
@@CaptainKleeman thats even better.
As a mechanic I just have to say, you’ve used a torque wrench more in this video than I’ve used one in the last year lmfao.
“My favorite part is where it didn’t start.”
~Capt. Kleeman
Good job Mike you've just gotta fix the grounding problem great video thanks
That a boy Mike, we have smoke!!💪💪🤗🇺🇸
So happy for you ... SUCCESS !!! Great job !!!
Great that you got it going Captain. Way to go! 💪
Good morning mike! And its so awsome to see my favorate peice of equipment you have up and running ,once again! Im a fan of those 55's great little machines! Id love to own one!

Great job Mike! Having the 755 running will be a big help to you.
Great video Captain! Very nice to see the 755 run again.

Well done mike, great achievement mate.. permatex or sealant on any water connections....AUS viewer
Excellent work as always Mike 👍👍🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧
New show titled “If It Came Off, It Should Fit”
enjoy your content sir.your making some great memories for your kids too!
Enjoyed this video! Your chaos parts everywhere does take a toll on my brain but in the end you got this! Can’t wait for the next one.
We have ignition! If I had to guess the import water pump seal groove was probably out of tolerance giving you fits with the O-ring. Nicely done! 👍😁
You did a good job getting all the parts & pieces put back into place. Sound good running.
Nicely done!! Looks like you'll have her out and about in no time now, have a good one!!👍
Good afternoon Mike! GREAT JOB! I'm sure I was just as excited as you when it popped off and was running like a champ! Can't wait to see it back in action! Have a good one! And check your email😁
Awesome job caption
Love watching your channel, always great content.
The Rube Goldberg of mechanics! 🔧

You did it! Good job.
She sounded good once the flywheel was freed up 💯
Good morning Mike it’s coming together with some elbow grease and a drip 💧 one is ok 👌 but I think you found it ✅
Coming along pretty well!
Great job Mike glad it all worked out for you. JeffinMaine
Great job Captain!! Keep plugging away at it
Nicely done!
You do manage to accomplish much like working in cold weather, doing what you can without certified training except for your FD work.
Glad it started for you. It looked like it was getting fuel. Maybe the glow plugs weren't on long enough because of the cold weather. It fired quickly the second time. I have a 1025. Almost the same, I guess. It needs a lot of glow plug in cold weather.
Yes!!! Sounds great. Onward!
Good job captain!! Love the channel!!!
Captain Kleeman, i was just thinking as you said it. you should put a old microwave oven in the shop to heat up small parts, save you trekking back to the house to do it.
@ 15:05 Oh, Capt, Capt, Captain you always prove trial and Error do work in the long run Sometimes LMAO
Great Job Captain!!!
Good morning Mike
