great info Jason. I was able to get out and do some spraying today (wind down and rain the last two previous days). Ironically my 100 gallon skid ran out right in the middle of the job and I had to come home and remix. And not more than two weeks ago I had a no notice inspection from the Texas Dept Of Ag. Passed with no noted discrepancies!! Talk about being relieved. Not sure how often they inspect ya in Alabama, but it was my third one in five years. Not complaining though, each time they have come out, they have been helpful. Its a good piece of mind to know im doing it right. For those thinking about getting started, I HIGHLY recommend you have them come visit you when you first start up to have them show you what they look for, what you need to do, how to store chemicals, etc etc etc. Knowing beforehand is much easier than having a bad first inspection

I was a chemical lawn care specialist for 25 years. I enjoyed it but the company I was with was bought by a landscape company. I enjoyed it until 2 of my 3 weeks paid vacation was taken away and when I asked for a raise, the manager drew a circle on paper and he asked me to put down in this circle how he was going to recoup his losses. I quit. Thinking about later,I should have told him the 20 yrs + experience when you were a baby and near help build this company. I left because of a heart attack with a ejection fraction of 15% and I miss it everyday.

I've added weed control and fertilization to my small 50 yard business and OMG I don't know what I was thinking when I did not do it. The profit margin and the labor is not even close to cutting lawns. I'm working on getting SC license and adding noting but fert and squirt customers and eventually drop a few of my lawn care people who don't do fertilizer weed control.

Where do you get your water Jason? Just curious, if anyone has any ideas I’d sure appreciate it. I imagine a 400 gallon tank would take about 3-4 hours to fill all the way.

Highly recommend battery powered hand sprayers. No more pumping! Ryobi, Milwaukee, even Walmart brand Hart makes them. Milwaukee has a super nice 4 gallon backpack sprayer. We'll never use hand pump sprayers again!
