I absolutely hate using other people's patterns. It makes me feel like a fraud as a leather worker. That being said, I'm going to be getting this pattern and making these shoes for myself! This is extremely well done.
When I made the other pair of sneakers I took some EVA foam I had from my crafting that I used to do and made insoles for the shoes using the provided pattern pieces. They are removable and of course can be remade. I glued some of the leather to them with Barge so it didn't just look like a black piece of foam in there. *Something for people who might want something extra for the shoes*
I bought your moccasin pattern last weekend. I made it. Although the stitching was beautiful, overall, it was a clear fail and had me and my friends in fits of laughter. I had not laughed this much in years. I'm back for more. This time I'm buying your sneakers pattern hoping I'll do a better job.
I've made a pair of boots to see if i could with the last and full gubbins and love these they look so much easier. Already got both of your shoe patterns. If you can come up with some way of making boots i can mod into motorbike boots you will solidify your legend status because i need new ones and lasts are effort 😅
Fabulous Tony. And with a change of laces and low contrast thread we can call these ankle boots. Looking forward to trying these and putting my contour insoles in them. Have to have my arch support. 😊
Hey Tony I'm confused :( At 12:45 you present the optional bit, which has holes pre-set by the pattern, which I punched. How is this going to have the 2nd pair of holes aligned with the custom insole using the paper tape at 5:05?
This is an awesome diy that I hope to attempt soon. I would like to add some padding to the collar for ankle support. What kind of padding would you suggest, and how would I add it to the collar? Thanks in advance!
Wouldn’t work for me! If I ever make these I would make them much wider. But I’m taking a shoemaking course so I might just make my own shoe pattern later.
If we were to put cork into the sole somewhere, where would you put it? Between the leather insole and the liner? Or between the leather sole and the rubber sole?
Hi!! I bought this pattern and want to make these shoes but want to use canvas instead of leather (they'll be used for dirty outdoor work). How can I change this to work for using canvas instead? Has anyone done that before? Thanks in advance!! :D
Eccellente realizzazione!
I think these soles will be OK. I'm thinking making the leather insole a bit thinner to accommodate the ergonomic insole I use will work. Might need some thin foam underneath as well. I'm thinking of using craft foam for a "test" shoe to make sure I pick a size that fits me well.
In leather, ounces are a thickness measure, because leather of a certain thickness will weigh a certain number of ounces per area (I don't recall the area measure), but for practical use, leather that's 1 ounce thick is about 1/64th of an inch thick. Therefore, leather that's at least four ounces is gonna be at least 1/16th of an inch thick
Let us suppose, that someone wants to take this on for a first project but said person wants to torture himself and make his own soles as well. Do you have recommendations on things to avoid and things one should do
can the upper be sewed under the sole and then blake stitch it to a midsole and then stitch down the mid and outersole from outside... will it be durable???... i want to be a boot rather than a sneaker

I love to see you hand make custom outsoles from scratch

Thank you for this video, Sir. I like the precise way of showing your audience on how to do. You make it easy to follow. 😊 👏👏👏
waitng for my soles to come in the mail cant wait to try these out!

Amazing work. Thanks for sharing
Very wonderful work, thank you very much. I love this work

👍👍👍👍👍 bought.....most likely winter project......but severely tempted to start
Any recommendations on the glue? Both for the lining and the sole?
standard contact glue from your hardware store...pick the strongest one

Excelente trabajo Tony!!!
Thank you, Master. It"s great👍
This was so cool to see
I can't wait to make one pair too!!!!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
completed my first pair! thankyou :)
Does this also work for people who have wider feet?
Wouldn’t work for me! If I ever make these I would make them much wider. But I’m taking a shoemaking course so I might just make my own shoe pattern later.
Awesome sneakers❤
Best for your feet’s is pur leather shoes in-& outside!!!
What sewing machine can I use to make this process quicker

Is there a way to extend the pattern height wise? What if I wanted to make a mid calf shoe/boot? Do you have any ideas for that?
Excellent
how do I do it with soles that don't have the wall part
If we were to put cork into the sole somewhere, where would you put it? Between the leather insole and the liner? Or between the leather sole and the rubber sole?
You are the best sir,,,👍🙏🙏
I really like it 👏👏What is the size of shoes in the pattern please ?
Tony. You make everything look so easy. Awesome.
How would you suggest adding more arch support?
Insoles would be the easiest solution without modifying the shoe to accept a shank. Get a cork insole, and I imagine that would help.
Can you give more tricks on using CM-43?
apply, leave to dry 1 minute or two apply heat and bond
You do not have link for type of leather you prefer
Is there a way to edit the pattern to make a pair Rick owens shoes.
i hope not!
Could you give us a material list? I don't know the names of the tools you used and I would like to find them
Awesome pattern. I will make myself a pair too! 😁
Will you sell size EU46 soles in the future. Just bought this pattern and the size 46 is perfect for me.
Are there any plans to make sizes up to EU 47 in the future? Thanks
Impresionante!!!

Merci
Im wondering what size they patterns go to? Im 12w
I've just bought your pattern and I'm ready to go. Looked around for some lining and it's probably too thin a cotton. What do you recommend?
Dang! shame you dont make this pattern in size 12. can i just size up the print size to make it work?
Same here 🥲 it should work, I will try it
Question: Is the size 46 EU in the pattern (12 US) ? Im 46 and I dont know if there is a reason for me to buy the pattern ?
Could a person but a steel toe insert into this design?
Do you make these to order?
Lo haces ver muy facil. Gracias por todos los patrones

What kind of glue are you using?
regular cement glue, not that hard to find just apply, leave it dry, heat up and then apply on a very clean surface
Thank you, nice work. But please provide patterns for something taller, like half boots please
if your clever you can extend the pattern yourself because I was thinking the same thing & thats what I would do
Another great video Tony. What type of fabric are you using for the lining and how thick is it. It looks very comfy!
❤️ Thank you 🙌🏻

Spit out my coffee at 36:20. 😂 Thought I heard something else.
Any tips on how to expand your pattern to larger sizes?
you can always print at a larger scale and try paper patterns for size
I wish there was a way to make a custom sole. The ones available for order online are not very ergonomic and comfortable.
There are plenty of yt videos on hand made shoes. But it's not a simple task at all.

really nice 👍
What does he mean by "if your leather is thick enough - at less 4 ounces" ?
Not american nor british but I don't think ounces are about distance.
In leather, ounces are a thickness measure, because leather of a certain thickness will weigh a certain number of ounces per area (I don't recall the area measure), but for practical use, leather that's 1 ounce thick is about 1/64th of an inch thick. You can 3D print rubber soles. Not sure how well they hold up though. 🤔
Hi, Tony!
You're just great!
I' ve been subscribed for months, but still haven't got your free patterns.😢
😢😢
They’re on the website, you find the password each month in the ‘Community tab’ on his channel if you’re logged in and have the paying subscription.
You only have download patterns, I need pattern by mail.
I'd to see you make a pare of Tabbis, Japanese ninja boots
different technique of making
