Some really great nuggets of advice in here! I've been enjoying taking photos on my iPhone 15 Pro Max recently. Some of the images I have been able to capture on a device that fits in my pocket is sorta incredible.
Thanks for another great video guide! I too have some fancy camera gear and often just shoot with my phone… sometimes I think I should leave my iphone at home so I’d have to practice more with my camera. One thing that I think is missing in the iPhone default apps, is an easy way to convert the huge raw files to smaller jpgs for sharing, etc. I’ve been using an app called Image Size and it works really well (can convert to different file formats, change file dimensions, edit, share directly from the app or download to photos. It’s a great app!
nice one. I just got the 15 Pro Max as I fancied the new 120mm lens, and I was till using a 12 so it was time for an upgrade. I mostly use my phone to check compositions, etc before committing to camera but with this new one I'm hoping to use it a load more, especially the video side
Hi roman you have a packet for LR how do i buy it, and second i only have a iPad Pro 11 inch, looking in too buying a computer but not really sure what to buy yet I know, had a really nice 15 tum, but the key board was a nightmare and got rid of it, thank you
Just discovered type channel. Great video - thanks 🙏 Have subscribed and will check out your others. I’ve been put off setting RAW because of running out of storage on my phone. How often do you remove photo files from your phone. No one seems to discuss a useful plan of this and what to keep and organise on their phone. 🤔
Excellent. Totally agree with everything you said. My daily images are done with my iPhone. Would love to have LT, have used the standalone since it came out but not the subscription version. I use both Darkroom+ & Snapseed. Thanks for sharing. Ps your Malta images making me a bit homesick. Regards.
This is one of the best iPhone photography videos settings by far, great job!. By the way the link to your LR PreSets here on YT is not working give an error saying it can’t be found
Great video, thank you. I’d love to know your workflow for editing iPhone images in LR. Do you have iCloud library disabled? Otherwise those raw files are going to eat a huge amount of space really quickly!😮
I really don't like the ProRAW profile. I usually go for the Adobe Neutral or the custom Fuji Emulation Profiles from Cobalt Image as they match my Fuji camera's colors.
Maybe a stupid question but in the video, 7 minutes in, you talk about Apple pro raw and editing. Are you editing in Lightroom or is Apple Pro raw a separate editing feature? I didn’t quite understand that, and from my question you understand that I know 0 about editing and editing tools 😬. I wonder if you can advise me on what editing program I should use, I don’t own a computer, only an iPad?! Sorry for the silly questions but it’s not easy to understand, I’m too old to get it all from the start. ❤️
You probably view your photos in the “Photos” app. Within it you have an “Edit” option. Within that, 3 further options of which “adjust” and “crop” are the most useful. I adjust as little as possible because I do not enjoy editing. Cropping is useful when we are unable to compose perfectly.
In Lightroom you have a feature called profiles. When it recognises an apple RAW file, it gives you options to use the ProRAW profile. This lets you make another global adjustment to exposure and the HDRness of the file
The default camera app changing lenses on you for "what's best" is incredibly annoying and should be done away with. Always have to keep the Moment Camera app so I know I'm choosing the lens I want.
Not really. The lighting and composition applies to any phone or camera. The editing bit still applies if you remove the ProRAW profile and just use any of the Adobe profiles. Many of the settings carry over and are not exclusive to the pro phones. About 70% of this will apply to any iPhone from the last couple years.
Thanks for the lesson going to follow more
Great video!

Awesome! Thanks!
Thank you so much! Really unlocked my new iPhone. Great Presets!
Thanks again for a really useful and practical video. Another dimension to Hybrid photography - photo/video/phone! Enjoy Madrid.

Thank you for this! I'm going to take my daughter's college announcement photos on Sunday...thanks for the tips!
I use a 12 mini will it get me the best??

That's a good way of using it tbh. Especially if you shoot with a tripod

I think that the best advice i had is : train your eye in photobook and go shoot again and again :)

I'm missing Malta too
How much space are you using when you shoot in raw? I’m scared my phone will say it’s full after a few pictures.
What about front cam, mine seems lil’ blurry using iphone 15pro max

Thanks!! yeah i did an update on the website this morning and forgot to update here, thank you for the heads up!

I just airdrop the RAW files from my phone to my Mac and edit there. I tried to edit on my phone but the screen is way too small
Neat solution, thanks. Still looking for the best iOS solution but there’s no real clean way.
Excellent video again. It fits perfect to me. Got a new iPhone yesterday. 🙏
Which size of the bellroy sling bag are you wearing at 00:05?
thanks! the 2.5L
@@snapsbyfox Thank you, Roman! 😃

I heard about them before, need to check out

@@RoderickJMacdonald I'm with you on this one, 100%

@snapsbyfox Thanks for this. I did not realize that Lightroom mobile is free. I tried it, and the results are clearly superior.
Between log and raw I think hobbyists may no longer need a dedicated video camera or even an x100v or Ricoh
Iseriously think so too, coming form a X100f and owning an iPhone 15P

Madrid!!! Why you have not said anything to us!!!
He did in an earlier video
So the video is only for the people with a Pro iPhone. :(

I just can’t stand how the iPhone (and other smartphones) oversharpen photos natively.
yeah I agree. I find most of the sharpening is JPEG. in RAW it's a little better
