Tapewounds may sound incredible, but it’s the player that makes the music come alive! Thanks for another bass lesson Danny!
THANK YOU for doing justice to playing bass with a pick.
Only other person who did it like a champ was Peter Cetera
DAMN p basses just made for playing with pick if your target is funky but also retro sound
@@TxdcbluesReally? Only one person? Not Bobby Vega (among all the rest of well known respected pick players).
Ah after seeing more of your comments and channel I see you may only know and respect Peter.
@@profile2047 Paul Mccarthy is the most obvious.
@@Txdcblues Carol Kaye??
One note in and I shouted That's the Sound! 🎉
UA-cam didnt exist when I was in my BEHS prime( 40 frickin' years ago, 61 now), and you're right.. THATS THE SOUND I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!!! Sigh. I cant play anymore cause of very, very SEVERE arthritis..
@@donaldcummings8407 I am sorry to hear that. It's all too common amongst instrumentalists. I am about 47 and already feel the need to switch to shortscale bass to prevent the same! 😯
I like that you played the full range of the neck. Very nice composition
Out of curiosity I put a set of tapes on my Ampeg Dan Armstrong Lucite and entered a whole new level of joy playing that guitar. Sound is one thing and the feel is a whole other level.Love em.
Very Carol Kaye!
Your playing is funky and rock solid
COLD AS FUCK! That pocket is straight dripping groove from all sides.
nice groove
Nice. These strings sound great. I have one of those first run Squier P Basses from China as well, although mine is Sonic Blue. They're outstanding basses!
LOVE IT!!
Love that Jam ❤
Very excellent
Cool, I gotta get me some-a them tapeworm strings!
😂
Great playing
that's my dream bass tone
I had them strings on my 72 P bass back in 73.😃
great playing
Yeah tapewounds on Precision is the real deal man.
Nice chuckin’ man!
you have the perfect bass sound, you are happy!! ♥
Very impressive
Wow, great riff and great sound! I've been debating putting tapewounds on my Squier P-bass, and you have convinced me! Do you have stock electronics on board?
Very nice
I have them now on my Jack Casady and before that on a fretless P.
damn! this is badass! wow you killed it! ... is this a song or improvised?
nice behs toone
another slap focused bass video 😮💨
Cool! Those strings are also phenomenal on any fretless bass.
Muy muy bien
I put D'Addario tapes on a P-bass the other has LaBella flats , Im set for that P bass sound😊
Who says P-basses can't funk right up there with a Jazz or a Stingray?! Great pocket playing as usual Danny. What kind of cabinet are you playing through? I'm in the market for one.
Literally no one would say that a P won't funk.
Amazing !! I need the tabs, is fire ❤
@@qwargy i dont have that level yet 😅
Tabs??? You can't be serious!!! LOL
@@gimmeagig im new, sorry
@@peponaal0800 I was just making a silly John McEnroe joke. But seriously, using your ears to learn music is a very important skill to have. And if you are going to read something, skip the Tabs and learn to read regular notation. I'll put you ahead of most bass players out there.
This is all improvised; it would take you like two years to get it down - after the year it took to write out the tab 😂
What did you do solve the groung issues?
They sound even better on a jazz bass, imho.😊
A jazz can never sound better than a P.
Who else comes for the behs but stays for the grin?☺️
Do you need high action to play tapewounds?
What brand of strings???
Tapewounds
Those are Rotosound mate. Only tapewound brand with yellow silks.
Hi. Whats the brand of the Tapewound strings ? Thanks
Yes !
Rotosound!
Tapewounds feel great and have killer midrange. The problem with tapewounds is that they lack deep behs.
Nice playing, it’s rare to see pick playing at this level aside from guys like Justin Chancellor and Bobby Vega. Most pick players play any bass as a 2 string bass.
Just proves that whatever is on the headstock makes very little difference
Sound is pretty much the smallest difference when it comes to different priced instruments. UA-cam also does some compression
What kind of bass is that?
This convinced me to sell my guitar and buy a bass👍
These strings sound how a bowling alley smells.
Haha, nice! Just how we want them to smell ; )
i like the squier p bass to stop the bass quality arguments
Danny Sapko on the FENDER BASS.
Ahem, Squier.
I want to use stuff like this and then I remember I’m a rock bassist who must with the unfortunate reality that is a slightly overdriven pbass tone buried in the mix
That kind of groove will sounds so much better on a roundwound strings
Roundwounds 😂
Tapewounds are the reason most beatle basses sound inaccurate: they aren't using them, they think he uses flats!
cool
