I hope this helps you guys who are motorheads and not into the football games something to watch on thanksgiving. I figure it might be better than arguing politics with the other perspective relatives at your family gathering....Happy thanksgiving to all that are Americans...Remember it is an American holiday......and to those who are not happy holidays to you as well.
Right on brother! Love the OEM shocks; are they still good in that low mileage car? I have KYBs on the back and oil filled on the front in my car as well. Seems to work fine.
@@vayabroder729 yea that is what I like to do too.. rides nice. front and rear that way.
Well stated. Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for another great video. That pan just by itself is darn near drivable already.
Man it’s as old as I’am. Born in 54. I had a 59 in high school. Sold it to my best friend in 71 when I was drafted. Marines that day. Old man now still love old VWs. Thanks from. Sc
Hey Mike ! I have been viewing your videos on TV again but I am here ? Happy Thanksgiving ? My turkey is in the BBQ pit still .
Nice work! Tarp over some boards for that pan. No regrets
Thank you for sharing ! I look forward to watching your videos more than anything just short of Survivor. Your up there with Jeff Probst.
Happy Thanks Giving !!!
Same to you!
@@Mikefngarage I'm English and live in Spain but we're having Thanksgiving dinner. Enjoy 👍
@@noeldyne389 WOW that is totally wild. Most people in other countries dont know about American thanksgiving. good to know.
Great video, the chassis is looking very good. I have a 74 Super Beetle that was my dad's that he was restoring that I need to finish.
Your updates are Great! So much better than Football, and baseball and basketball!! .... a little bit of water on the floor pan, is ok among Friends... you're in Socal....good luck...
Happy Thanksgiving Mike! Thank You and all the best to you and your family 👍

Love your video's they are so helpful THANK YOU and good luck with your business adventure 👍
I’m a huge fan of Koni shocks myself. Not the cheapest, but we’ll worth it.
have some of those on my classic motorcycle.
G'day Mike,
Great video man.
Your approach to your UA-cam content is always spot on. Over there years I've used your videos for reference on my projects
so many times so don't
change a thing.
So thanks for sharing man ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
Is that turkey grease on the pans 😮
Happy Thanksgiving, Mike. I love your approach of not taking everything apart needlessly; you just recondition parts one by one as you go.
As for the pan getting wet; just put a tarp over it 😉. With you it’s not going to be sitting outside for a long time. If I were you and HAD THE MEANS 😉 I’d put in a 36 hp with Okrasa kit and maybe even a supercharger.
Re your income I wish you get the good stuff back. Also your UA-cam channel should be so much more bigger than it is; I try to share with everyone I know.
He was talking about doing just that when he first got the car. Not sure what he has in mind for it now.
Thanks for your video, great tips, lucky find low mileage car
As usual excellent content explained in detail.
I like the detail….very instructional!!
Chomping at the bits to see what the next step is. 😮
Looks great
Yes we trust you

I'm Available Sundays and Mondays....
Hey Mike, I agree about using stock shocks on the front (I have adjustable gas shocks on the rear but regular shocks front) but do you have any opinion/advice on the front sway bar? Mine is slightly bent and has been ever since I bought the car, but I'm pondering whether it's worth upgrading to a thicker "performance" bar?
I’m surprised you didn’t paint the drums and front assemblies.
I did paint them but it just burns off as soon as you drive it.
Have you used that John Deere cornhead grease for the steering box? I’ve read it won’t leak out
Yea I was thinking about that too...that grease gun would fill that sucker up in seconds.
that's what I am going to use, another guy suggested and yet another will try it in bus steering box I sold to him yesterday, he'll let me know for sure.
What where you doing that went away?
Mike, if you haven’t already left that somewhere, what’s the part number for that MAC brake tool that you were using?
Oops sorry, you did paint the drums. My bad !
Yea I did a piss coat because yea they just burn it off right away
Are you going to sell that Bus?
Pretty soon. I need to drive it for a bit after it is finished. the shop needs to be cleaned out before I can sew the seat pads. Just need to do a few more things to the bug then I will finish it.
Oil spraying is not as good as you think.
Tarp it 🤔
