I came back to TN (from Hobonichi) after 6 years. I bought my TN leather cover (with blank refill) in Kyoto and inserts from Kyoto, Nakameguro and Tokyo Station last November. I chose the Monthly Calendar because my life isn’t as busy these days (retirement), otherwise I would have purchased the weekly memo. I use the dot grid refill for daily notes (including the occasional appointment). I use the blank refill (which came with the leather cover) as a travel journal. In the travel journal, I paste museum tickets, small dried leaves and flowers, train tickets, and make notes about my trips. That way I have a separate journal for my travel memories. I have the watercolor insert but I haven’t used it yet. I use the zipper pouch for stickers, the extra rubber bands, other people’s business cards.
I isolde100. Thanks for stopping by and sharing. As I'm interested in exploring the Hobonichi, I'm curious what brought you back to the TN? Warm wishes and have a wonderful day!
Comments like these are what I live and die for. Comments like these are the only reason I make content. I'm glad I could help you avert disaster. I can go to sleep soundly tonight Lol. All kidding aside Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you Tuesday.
Love your setup! 😊❤ It’s my first year of using TN and setting it up for the first time. Looking for inspiration and enjoyed your ideas! Big hello from Ottawa, and wishing you a happy 2024!
I just got a standard tn a few weeks ago. I have many other sizes and wasn’t sure I wanted to try the standard but the embossed leather cover was calling me. I actually have not been able to put mine down for long. I did print and create my own inserts with my digital prints. But I am in love with this TN. 💜💜💜
LOL. I can't believe I did that. I really should revisit the idea of doing this videos at 4am in the morning. My mind isn't quite all there at moments but glad the intent and meaning came across lol. Thanks for stopping by and the kind feedback. Warm wishes and have a wonderful day!
I just purchased my first TCN Olive Passport. I love it! I’m using it as my EDC calendar/planner/catch all etc. I have 2 dashboards with scrapbook paper, my monthly (can’t be without), my weekly (planner/diary/journal/daily notes), and a plain notebook. So far I am happy with the way I set it up. Daily use will determine if changes need to be made. Looking for to 2024 and using my new TN! 😆. I love this video, thank you! Love the way you decorated it. I also love the way your leather aged - beautiful! Thanks again! Have a safe, happy, and healthy New Year!
Yep I do this every year 👍🏻I've moved to the vertical diary as that suits me better now and have the monthly diary too. Just another excuse to keep multiple Traveler's Notebook's going so I can see them 😄
I have three notebooks in my TN: the two weekly memo notebooks and a general notebook. I put my tasks for the week on the right (memo) side, and tasks for specific days on the left side.
I just started with a tn, but I don’t have use for weekly’s or monthly’s. I have an insert for catch all/lists, one for journaling, and one kind of a commonplace so far. They’re ruled and grid but I plan to move to the lightweight after I fill them up. Lucked out in finding a pencil board at a shop today while buying ink!
Just starting the Traveler's Journal journey this year. Your videos are helping me decide which inserts I need. Have the monthly calendar insert which is already in use. Thinking of getting the weekly one but still trying to decide if the weekly vertical or the weekly memo would be a good fit. Thank you for your very informative videos.
Great set up! I have the weekly memo too, as well as a monthly and a dot dot grid, although I am now wondering if I really needed the monthly as the weekly has a monthly section as you pointed out! I love the flexibility the Tn’s offer and am looking forward to seeing how I get on with mine this year as using it for the first time :) thanks for the video!
Hi Emma. Thanks for stopping by and the kind feedback. Let me know how you get on with yours. I'm always toying with the idea of the monthly insert but it has yet to workout for me. Warm wishes and have a wonderful day!
I recently added the TN Free Diary’s to trial for 2024, But i find the advantage off using a TN and the bullet journal method I don’t have much “set up” its more of and evolution as i use it daily.
Your page anchor is really cool. I was in the Navy for 8 years and that would be a neat way to represent that time while using my TN. Do you remember where you got it or have any reference links where I might be able to obtain one? Thanks in advance.
Hi There, funny you should ask as I have a discounted code link or code you can use. It's from a company called page anchor. If you use this link you can get a 25% discount on the page anchor. Or use the discount code code STAT4: www.page-anchor.com/STAT4 Hope that helps!
Hello. Thank you for your videos, they are inspiring. As I am a user of traveller’s notebook as well I cannot stop thinking of your comment (it was actually about the 5years journal) that you hope “maybe one day your kids will read it. “ Yet, just last time I tried to write something in my journal, I just washed my hands. I thought my hands are dry-well they weren’t. Ink travelled and my log is partially destroyed. You mentioned inks you are using: not the archival inks. So my question is: are you concerned about H2O destroying your work?
Hi there, great question. I'm usually not concerned. I had the same incident occur early on in my fountain pen journey. Now I'm very careful to dry my hands with water. When I'm out and about traveling, I baby my notebooks - ziploc bags. If I'm really concerned, I usually write with my pigment marker. Does that answer your question? Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
Cool video! I am a big fan of travelers comoany notebook too and since i watched your video abour the accordeon folder i am wondering how did you print (and which printer did you use) all those tiny photos you added in yours! Any recommendations would be gladly appreciated! Have a great new year!
Hi Gabriel, Thanks for stopping by. I get the photos printed at a local drug store down the road. I upload from google photos and their printed within a couple of hours. I usually go for a 4x6 with 6 square template. It's quite handy. Hope that helps. Warm wishes and have a wonderful day!
Ah, that’s how you stop the clip from marking up your notebooks. Sadly those zipper pouches are being discontinued but they do have a few left at Wonder Pens I think. I have been resisting getting one due to the price but the protection factor is a definite plus. I love my TSL double pen clip but not the mark it leaves on my insert.
Thanks again. What colour Traveler's Notebook did you get? The anchor clip was a gift. It's from a company called Page Anchor: www.page-anchor.com/ I think there are cheaper knockoffs available on Amazon now.

Just got my TN today and have found pleasantly that my local Japanese bookstore has a shelf with few traveler’s’ items.
Glad this video helped! I hope you enjoy your new TN journey. Warm wishes and have a wonderful day!
2024 would have been a disaster if not for this helpful video. You sir, are a genius and a gift from the heavens !

HI Jazz. Thanks for stopping by and sharing! Very similar to how I use the weekly+memo as well. Warm wishes and have a wonderful day!

Zipper pouches are still available in Japan.
