A friend gave me a small book by Epictetus and it’s on my 2025 list to go through it and really reflect on what the writings mean to me. Perhaps I should use one of my Many notebooks to do that!

The vast majority of notebooks I use are filled with quotes gleaned from books I've read over the years. Page one will be an index for individual titles & the relevant page numbers. I started out using Moleskine A5 sized books, then transitioned to using notebooks I made myself. The covers became a medium for all sorts of decorative artwork, everything from suminigashi and hitomezashi to silhouettes and Lindenmeyer systems. A few months back, I acquired a stack of manila paper & have made a couple or A6 sized books with that. It's a great way for several of my interests, writing, crude bookbinding, and artwork, to converge.

Ohh!!! I am so grateful I saw this video. I had the same idea for the Kinosawa Flex notebook - using it for my TN with a fountain pen. I am so glad I saw this!! Beautiful video and beautiful collection of notebooks.

My wife and I alternate 5 year Journals each year so we can see how one another thought that time last year and the different takes on what was note worthy of the day.

Oh - I have 3 Lochbys and love them!! And Composition books have been my fav for many years for just having on hand when working through things, working with my students, or just to scribble ideas, pictures, etc.

Great setups for all your interests. I've bought so many notebooks in this past year of many different kinds of papers to try so I've been thinking of ways to assign them uses. Your black backpack is definitely deceiving in size but it holds alot. I like how you are using so many pens at once also. I have many samples of ink to try to and I'm still getting to know my pens.

Really enjoyed this. I’m hoping to do a video like this soon. Kokuyo is a brand that I want to love. Some of their products are absolutely fountain pen friendly. But some are not. I try to use Jet Pens as a resource because they carry a lot of their products and include paper tests in the product images. One thing I would like to hear about is the desk behind you. What’s the story there? How does it fit into your writing life? What’s your desk setup? What’s inside? Love your channel. Keep up the great work!

I had to use composition notebooks in high school for Chemistry, which I did not enjoy. You had me until you said Calculus, another topic I did not enjoy. My immediate thought was, “on purpose?” Yuck. 😂 Love your setups. I still am not fully set up for the year but I’ll try to do some more today. How are the kids enjoying their TN setups?

Nice 10-year review. I just discovered the vanishing point/capless and have bought the special alloy cheaper version off Amazon. May consider getting Reid’s Stationary to order me an 18k nib if I find the pen to be an EDC for me. i have heard of people buying the metal nib and then the 18k after to essentially get two nibs for price of one. Have you tried the metal nib for comparison?

Wow! What an amazing video! Thank you so much! I have always had a road block when creating vision boards. Part of it was how unworthy I felt and the other was lack of discipline. Your video has given me a guide and step by step how to. Thank you for opening up and sharing your visions. I’m not trying to be nosey but just trying to figure out HOW to write my visions down. Beautiful pen! I’m really wanting an Edison pen…I love the interesting designs/acrylics and nice nibs. I especially like that they are a small US business and want to support that! I’m deciding between the Beaumont and the Comet. I wanted to ask you what type of paper are you using? I like the style of the section at the top of the paper and the grid. I’m thinking it might be Maruman, but let me know if I’m mistaken! Great review and thanks for showing off your gorgeous pen! (You asked about other nibs…I saw a review of another type of Edison pen with a Jowo steel 1.1 nib and it was beautiful in how it wrote and the reviewer had no issues with the nib as Edison will pre-tune the nib before it leaves the factory.)

Thanks for sharing your set-up. I like how you’re incorporating habit tracking into the Weeks pages (I’ve been doing habit tracking in my Hobonichi Techo, but now considering this approach…inspiring). One question: Are you using your TN primarily for your UA-cam and side business and personal tasks? Or, also using for day job work/tasks? I may have missed that in your other overviews?
