  • I got the opportunity to repair this GMT900 Silverado that had a popping coming from the front end. Diagnosed the issue and found that the lower ball joints were loose and the uppers weren't as tight as they could/should be. After digging in I also found the outer tie rods needed replacing. All of this was just due to age and mileage I'm sure. They had 150k on the clock and from the look probably had some off-road miles. Got all of that completed as well as adding a MotoFab leveling kit... indifferent feelings on it... well just watch to find out why. On my Sierra, I noticed the temp liked to climb to 240 on the highway and drop back down to normal range during in town driving.... found the expansion tank was low, but why?! Found the reason! :)

" Don't fool yourself, girl, it'going right up the poop chute..." Frank Zappa. I reference to the fact it probably is the water punp. Check the radiator side of that hose. It might be one of those ultra expensive twist and lock ones with the clip ring you have to slide back into the right place, Kinda like the jumbo version of GM transmission coolant fittings, ecept on a rad hose. Those may be reserved for the 3/4 or 1 ton variants and diesels...and heavier Express vans that are 8=bolt wheel hubs. Since you are keeping the truck I'd order a Rock Auto Gates pump just to have on hand. For a hundred bucks you are insured and if it''s not the twist and lock rad hose the normal one is cheap and replace it too. And get some new heater hose because they both have to come off the pump anyway.

Must be a calibration issue. Reset to 1776 and try again! 😜🤙🏼

Anyone else only able to view this in 360p? It doesn't appear to have a higher resolution setting available?

It was filmed in 4K, should be HD... unless YT is glitching... 🙈

Man, if there is coolant in the motor it sounds like a perfect opportunity to swap it with a 6.0!

I’m a big fan of the 8.1... 😉 the trouble is finding one that’s decent!

Had a Tuff Country kit on my ‘13- same thing hadda cut the top of the bolts. Ride was absolutely terrible and not worth it…I’m now switching to a Bilstein 5100 adjustable shock and hadda buy new upper strut mounts because I ruined the old ones 🤦‍♂️

I’ve got a rough country 6” on my Sierra and it’s okay.... the GMT900 kits I loved were Ready Lift.

Read a lot as far as leveling goes and most people said to go Bilstein, I’m not going taller than leveling

@@waldoman321 if my 05 didn’t come lifted I wouldn’t have gone more than that. Bilstein makes quality stuff for sure!!

Without a doubt - Lower, upper and belt. Peace of mind, especially a current one vehicle household, you are in there, its gonna be messy and you have to replace fluid anyway do both hoses and the belt is a no brainer - keep current as your new spare and get on down the highway to Dallas.

@@ObsessedAuto plus the absolute last thing a guy needs is to be stuck on the highway with a wife angry about you going “cheap” on the maintenance. I am fortunate in my wife never questions my spend when it comes to repairs. “Whatever it takes to be safe” she tells me. So if my wife asks, Power Flex polyurethane suspension bushings, all new ball joints and a thicker adjustable rear anti-sway bar is now considered “safety equipment”. 🤷🏻‍♂️
