A comb is the answer and I make chicken and dumplings for my family with chicken on the bone. Also use canned biscuits too. No complaints they eat it all up.❤😊

My grandmother used to call canned biscuits "gumwads"! But she used them a lot and that was before "grands" size biscuits. I have made a similar recipe but used Bisquick. I would think there would be less dissolving of the canned biscuits as there would be with the bisquick dumplings.

I use a similar recipe on the stovetop. But I use rotisserie chicken from the store & I flour the quartered biscuits (shake in a bag) before adding to pot.
I like that idea with the flour, it will thicken the liquid in the pot. Thanks for sharing.

I like it all you could also substitute salt free broth and salt free cream of chicken.
I've been making something very similar to this for years, if you have an oven proof slowcooker insert you can layer biscuits on top then brown them in the oven at the end
