    Most of the times I'm very nervous when being close to bikers at the Nürburgring, but once in a while it's cheers beauty....
    (Ik doe het ff in engels. De vraag zal wel meer gesteld gaan worden denk ik zo...) Please don't get me wrong. I don't hate bikers (in fact I drive a bike myself), but I hate it that the organisation makes it possible for cars and bikes to be on the Ring at the same time. Fast cars and first timer bikers drive completely different lines so first timer bikers get involved in (very often deadly) accidents. There are strict rules on overtaking and how faster and slower traffic should act on the Ring (STVO). By seeing the behaviour of some first timer bikers (and car drivers too) I must conclude that the rules (on signs all around the track) are nor read by everybody. The Ring is an unforgiving place. A crash in a car is serious enough, but you got a high survival rate. For bikers the story is quite different. In the course of many years I've seen many people got killed up close and most of them bikers. I think it's about time the organisation will start to think about some form of Touri Drives were both groups are separated from each other. (and to put more Marshalls all around the track instead of just 6 spots. Last weekend a veteran Ringer got killed when trying to warn other people himself for a dangerous situation because there were no Marshalls at that very dangerous spot. Again it was a sad day last Sunday) Cheers Dr.C
    This isn't a how to heel & toe / rev matching instruction video, but you never know what you might learn. Enjoy! Cheers Dr.C.

    Grande Nico, ne son passati di giri sotto ai ponti dal 2008 quando facevo da battistrada e hai scoperto il parco giochi ! Great Nico,you did a lot of laps from bridge to bridge since 2008 when I was the "front runner " and you discovered this Luna park !

    Awesome lap, great to see a biker that also takes the corners fast and not only the straights!

      For me it was very funny to find out I was chasing my friend Nicola all the time. I knew he was coming, but had not seen him in this new biker suit. Still a bit disappointed it wasn't a lady biker though....

      Always a joy being around a real good biker. Funny that at the end of the lap it turned out to be my buddy with his brand new bike and suit. Cheers

      Thanks for the comment you have my respect riding a bike at the NOS. Also a little bit crazy though. Maybe it's a good thing to be on all fours... Cheers

      DutchRingRacing- Yes thats right, it was in the 90s and I had luck, because I had no serious injuries. But I still ended the bike driving in 2001. Since that time I drive with m3's but today it's rare. I wish you continued good ride.

      What bike do you ride?

    • @DoctorCarLove
      @DoctorCarLove  7 років тому

      A Yamaha 535 XV. It was sold. I lost 2 biker friends within 3 days from each other in similar accidents where a car didn't pay attention on the public road. Some time ago I was on a bike again, but It gave me no joy any more. It's 4 wheels for me now...

      DutchRingRacing I'm so sorry for your losses.

      Allright, in English. I know what you mean. First. If your a beginner biker you shouldn't ride the ring at all. I'm riding for 6 years now and been a big fan of the ring long before that. Since 2013 I'm riding track days with the ultimate goal to ride the ring some day. Maybe by the end of the season I'll be ready, if not, I'll wait another year. I want to be on a skill level to ride the ring comfortably on %70 of my skills and still be fast enough.
      Your talking about educating and I think that's a great point. As a biker I would want to know what the perfect time is to ride the ring with the least amount of traffic and drivers/riders with no experience. Maybe there even some corners that are extra difficult for bikers because they're off-camber or something else. Educating drivers and riders would be a better approach than hating on each other.
      Maybe we could work together on this sometime. I have a UA-cam channel myself with focus on motorcycle riders from the Netherlands. Maybe we can create a video from your car explaining how to ride the ring as a motorcyclist and vice versa. Let me know if your interested in something like that.
