The reactions from David here are genuine and as much from himself personally as from the Doctor, as he was a fan of hers as a kid and was exceedingly excited and overjoyed to work with her.
Absolutely right.
Most of us from my generation were fans of Sarah Jane.
Sarah Jane Smith was my first companion, in her first story with John Pertwee as the doctor...
I was given the VHS in the early 1990's...
I was so happy to see her in new Who, and despite not being in the target age-range I loved those years with her in the Sarah Jane adventures...
Yup. David cites the 4th and 5th Doctors as his key era. Imagine a massive childhood Star Wars fan acting with Carrie Fisher.
Sarah Jane Smith was one of the longest lasting Companions, from back in the 1970's. Meeting Jon Pertwee's 3rd Doctor, then Tom Baker's 4th Doctor. When the Doctor received an urgent telepathic summons from his home planet, he dropped off Sarah Jane on Earth first.
K-9 was first built by a human man on a space station in the 21st century, and who went with the Doctor after the episode we met him in. He's been rebuilt a few times, as the older versions have stayed behind with departing companions. K-9 has been invaluable as a bodyguard in several episodes.
Love to see Sarah Jane. She was one of my first companions. She was the first person who made it feel like I was on the TARDIS. She is our stand in.
Same here, sort of, my youth was mostly through the 5th-7th Doctor eras, but I encountered her through reruns of the older series.
Sarah Jane Smith first appeared in the Doctor Who story The Time Warrior, In series 11. In December 1973. She was the 3rd Doctor (Jon Pertwee) companion. She left the T.A.R.D.I.S in The Hand of Fear in series 14. In October 1976 during the 4th Doctor (Tom Baker) era. RIP Elisabeth Sladen.
Probably not best to say when she enters and leaves
@prestongeeding1995 I agree with obiwan up there; I think it’s best not to include spoilers lest our host decide to watch/react to the Classic series someday. Could you edit your post to remove specifics (or nuke it entirely, if you prefer)? Thanks.
"Goodbye, my Sarah Jane."
Still gets me emotional today, Rip Elizabeth Sladen. She was amazing and the most iconic companion in Doctor Who.
I'm hoping one day you'll react to classic Who, where you'll find most of the episodes with her in.
It is interesting how you got emotional at the end. Can you imagine how emotional it was for us fans who grew up with Sarah Jane as a companion? The Sarah Jane adventures are really good and it would be nice if you reacted to them at some point.
I hated that I caught news of her return before the episode aired, that would have so amped up the viewing (and a complete strangle hold on the feels)
Sarah Jane was the companion when I first saw Doctor Who as a kid in the mid 70s. To see her return in this episode was really quite emotional. Similarly for David Tennant too, as Elizabeth Sladen was the Doctor's companion of his childhood, so the table read with her was a surreal experience for him!
The Arc in Space was my first ever episode of Dr. Who (#4's 2nd story)
My intro was Robot, which was my first episode I fully remember. I saw one episode that stuck with me with Pertwee (and The Master) but I didn't remember much, too young at the time.
Fun fact: AnthonyHead (or Giles as most people know him) had at one point screen tested to be the 8th Doctor.
Really? I was wondering why he looks so familiar. It seems he and Superman have the same glasses. 🤯
He is great in an audio series from Big Finish...
The Excelis series where he plays the same character meeting 3 different versions of the doctor (5, 6 & 7) at different points in his life....
It is worth listening to as an introduction to the world of audio Doctor Who...
Anthony Head is also Giles from Buffy and King Uther Pendragon, father of King Arthur from BBC's Merlin
@@marior.5796 Giles, for those that don't know, was a charcter in the Buffy The Vampire Slayer tv series.
@@GrumpyOldGit-zk1kw I know. I just learned recently how his name is written and I don't know another film or series where a character has this name.
But I never would have thought that it is the same person. For me Giles always has glasses on and is a proper English gentleman like person and this rector a complete other character.
Maybe I never suspected the same actor from Doctor Who a British serie playing also in Buffy an American serie.
"Pain and Loss, they define us as much as happiness and love, weather it's a world or a relationship, everything has its time and everything ends."
Elizabeth Sladen had three spin offs. Two on TV - 1981's K9 and Company and 2007's The Sarah Jane Adventures and the audio Sarah Jane Adventures. K9 also appeared in three spin offs the aforementioned K9 & Company, Sarah Jane Adventures snd his own spin off K9.
K9 & Company was pants.
@@Richard_AshtonNot familiar with that usage of the word pants. I’m assuming that slang saying you didn’t enjoy it or it was terrible?
@@zemoxian In the UK, “pants” typically refers to underwear. However, “pants” can also be used as an equivalent of the word "bad" e.g. "That's pants!"
It’s better than that Peter Cushing Dr. Who Dalek movie… and I love Peter, but that movie, oy.
@@joeb918which one? Peter Cushing made two Doctor Who movies - Doctor Who and the Daleks (1965) with Roy Castle and Daleks - Invasion Earth, 2150AD (1966) with Bernard Cribbins who would play a character later in David Tennant's story arc, but no spoilers... Both featured the Daleks as the villains.
The headmaster, Anthony Head played the Watcher in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. He was one of the best loved characters of the series.
Plus he plays Rupert in Ted Lasso.
@@fayesouthall6604
His name is actually Rupert? Is that a joke or a reference?
@@zemoxian yes in Ted Lasso he’s Rupert Mannion. Ex husband of the Richmond owner Rebecca.
@@fayesouthall6604 idk if you know, but Anthony Head's character is named Rupert Giles in Buffy also LOL
"The Shooty Dog thing" is also a prime example of "Buffy Speak"
Sarah traveled with the Doctor for 3 1/2 seasons back in the seventies, with both the Third and Fourth Doctors. She returned for a one-off special with K9 in 1981 (it was intended as a pilot for a spin-off series but wasn't picked up) and met the Fifth Doctor in the show's 20th anniversary special in 1983. She's considered by many fans, including me, to be the best companion the Doctor's ever had.
Absolutely!! If you'll pardon the innuendo, she was my first and my best. RIP Liz Sladen. Cheers....
In the history of this show, there is only one person more beloved by all of us than Sara Jane Smith. His name is Brigadier Sir Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, or simply, The Brigadier. :)
Also K-9 has been around for a long time, and he is a good boy. :)
I wouldn't say more, but I would say equally.
Wilfred Mott?

Funfact / sadfact from the comics. Sarah Janes and the Brigadiers funerals had visited by the Doctor....by ALL the Doctors.
She was the one who set the standard for the companions moving forward
When SJ and Rose laughed at the Doctor behind the scenes he had a mustache drawn on his face.
actualy serah jane has her own tv show sadly the show ended when the actress passed away
Sarah Jane is probably the favorite -- or at least most popular -- original series companion, particularly in America because PBS stations would often show the Third and Fourth Doctor episodes (The Fourth Doctor was probably the most well known in the states until the relaunch with Eccleson).
Why Sarah Jane called Rose an "assistant" ... Sarah Jane and her immediate predecessors Jo and Liz were usually referred to as "assistants" rather than companions because Third and Fourth were stuck on Earth working for an agency called UNIT for a while for....spoilery things the Second Doctor did... which I'll leave mysterious for if you go back and watch the older show.
I am pretty sure that's the original voice of K9 too, so that's not just one but the first **two** actors from the original series to return as their original characters.
It is the original actor for K9, he’s done it for various radio series as well and the two spinoffs from this episodes.
@@joeb918Pretty sure he’s got the record for longest time on the show, or most Doctors… something like that.
Sarah Jane was the companion character that set the standard for the companions today she was the companion to the end of John Pertwee the third doctor and was the companion for half of the fourth Doctors Tom Baker me incarnation
Sarah Jane is the most iconic Classic Who companion. She had a very long run and was incredibly popular. Her return to the show was a huge deal. It went so well that it led to a spin-off series for her.
My favorite quote in the entire show: "Pain and loss, they define us as much as happiness or love. Whether it's a world, or a relationship... Everything has its time. And everything ends." - Sarah-Jane Smith
Reminds me when 12 talks about how everything ends but also everything begins again, makes me think he took Sarah Jane’s lesson to heart and thought of her quote while grieving for River
@@chris-hz2wd Emme has made it clear that she doesn't want spoilers, so please don't comment about characters and events she hasn't yet seen.
Headmaster:
Anthony Stewart Head (born 20 February 1954) is an English actor and singer. Primarily a performer in musical theatre, he rose to fame in the UK in the 1980s following his role in the Gold Blend couple television advertisements for Nescafé, which led to major roles in several television series.
He is best known for his roles as Rupert Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003).
Time flies!
5:12 was a jaw drop moment for classic Who fans - as you will guess from the earlier comments.
How does this channel not have 1 million subscribers? Very glad that I found this channel, it is always fun rewatching these episodes!
So this was the first episode they filmed after the Christmas episode with new earth and tooth and claw were filmed next. I always find it interesting to see what order the episodes filmed in and how they are in the series.
Also Torchwood was the codename they used to film series 1 of Doctor Who
Sarah Jane: "You can tell you're getting older; you're assistants are getting younger."
Rose _(offended):_ I'm not his assistant.
Aren't you, though, Rose, aren't you?
No? Lol
Seeing our Sarah Jane after so so long - from the 3rd 4th Doctor era, was such a treat. That ending. 😮💨 RIP Elizabeth Sladen.
I forgot Giles was in this episode. Always happy to see Tony Head show up in anything.
1. I don't think I've ever heard someone say "Screaming Bloody Mary".
2. Referring to past companions as "Another Rose" is wild. Lol
K9 was a companion with the Doctor for many years during the 70's. He was with Sarah Jane (Elizabeth Sladen) and many others appearing with Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) to the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann),
Emme, back in the day, many a teenage boy fancied Sarah Jane Smith like crazy. Some even wrote stories about her.
I speak from personal experience.
When I was a teenager in the 80s, my first episode of Doctor Who was "The Pyramids of Mars" with the 4th Doctor, Tom Baker, and his companion, the much younger Sarah Jane Smith. So this episode meant a lot when I saw it when it first aired.
I watched the original Doctor Who in the 70's when Sarah Jane traveled with the 4th Doctor and K-9. It was so incredible to see them come back. One of my favorite episodes of all time.
there was a generation of us who grew up with dr who whilst also watching the sarah jane adventures on cbbc, she was awesome and she did a great job defending the earth when the dr wasn’t there
Sarah Jane Smith was a companion of the 3rd and 4th Doctor. She was on the show from 1973-1976.
This was an amazing episode that put a much-loved former companion front and centre. And it was good to see Sarah Jane too.
I liked K9 talking about 'power supply failing'. In the original series, the K9 model was notorious for running through its batteries *way* too fast, so they put that reference in.
Sarah Jane had her own spin series in childrens tv
This episode was a sort of introduction to a spin off series they made for kids (by the Dr Who Team) called 'The Sarah Jane Adventures'. That was a fun series which lasted until Elizabeth Sladen (who plays Sarah Jane) passed away (cancer). That was a sad occasion for the fans. At the same time, they also launched a spin off series for adults called 'Torchwood' and the leader of Torchwood was an old friend of the Who Universe.
Anthony Head playing a bat creature is pretty funny considering his role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer show. Since you mentioned you're into SPN, I'd totally recommend it.
Elisabeths Sladen's passing still hurts to this day. RIP Lis.
Sarah Jane has her own spin off series it takes place after this
I was a kid when this era of Doctor who was airing and her spin-off show Sarah Jane Adventures was something I watched all the time. She was such a big role model to me and I was heartbroken when Elisabeth Sladen died. She’ll always remain a massive part of my childhood as she will do for many people young and old. RIP Elisabeth Sladen ❤
I'd still like to see Rani and Clyde become companions ot the Doctor.
Dr Who fans 'of a certain vintage' adore this story as it brought back much loved Sarah Jane Smith, arguably the greatest companion ever. After this episode, her Dr Who career got a boost and she starred in the spin-off, The Sarah Jane Adventures. Sadly, she passed away unexpectedly in 2011. RIP Elizabeth Sladen, thanks for all those Saturday tea-time adventures back in the day🙂.
Sarah Jane was such a well-loved companion in the 70s that the BBC developed a spinoff for her and K9 in 1981, but it only got as far as a pilot episode. This time, she did get a successful spinoff! The Sarah Jane Adventures ran for four and a half seasons
I grew up watching this in the 90s when it was rested. Sarah Jane and k9 were two of my fave characters. This is the best show.
The 90s? This was 2000s.
And you've now met K-9, well, k-9 Mark III. But The Doctors Faithfun Robot dog, with big bite and Big Heart.
I love the friendship Rose and Sarah Jane develop it's so wholesome. I love that she invited her with them and had that bright smile as she did so.
Some companions worked with 2 doctors, a few worked with 3. Sarah Jane Smith worked with 9 & is the only person in the show to get their own spin-off series, plus Dr. #4 gave her his dog K9. K9 addressed her as Mistress.
RIP Elisabeth Sladen, you will be missed for ever.
RIP Liz Sladen :(
Yeah 🥺😢😥
There is a beautiful tribute called Farewell Sarah Jane that was produced during Covid that is narrated by several of the actors who appeared with her in Who and in the SJA.
(Nod)… Taken far too damn soon…
Obligatory fuck cancer.
Sarah Jane was a companion of the third and fourth Doctor(s). She was present when the third Doctor regenerated into the fourth.
As for her leaving, the Doctor was required to go to his home planet of Gallifrey, and humans were not allowed there at the time (a latter companion did remain there when her time was up).
Torchwood, an anagram of Doctor Who. K-9 has been around for while, he was introduced in 1977...
Sarah Jane was the companion of Doctors 3+4. She was always a fan favorite so when she returned for the revival...
Also disection isnt really a thing in British schools anymore. Some schools might have a demonstation disection done by a teacher but it would be a strictly opt in class.
maybe it just me, but you might not have to point which incarnation that Sarah Jane Smith travels with. It might lead to suprise reaction if she ever wanted to start reacting to Classic Era
@@azizuladnan2957 I guess but also its kind of harmless context especially as ten does say he's regenerated half a dozen times since he last saw Sarah. I get what you're saying though.

Sarah Jane was my favourite Doctor Who companion in the 1970s when I was a kid 😊
Speaking of "Supernatural", the actor playing the Headmaster played Giles in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", which was a definite huge influence on Supernatural.
I've always loved this episode, getting to see Sarah-Jane again, seeing David's genuine reactions to her, the return of the goodest boy K-9.
But wow, that ending hits so much harder knowing Elisabeth Sladen is no longer with us. An absolute icon and a top tier companion.
TORCHWOOD was mentioned in the Christmas special by Harriet Jones, another rose lol u mean companion, and Sarah Jane has her own TV show too the Sarah Jane Adventures
I remember watching this episode as it aired and i was only like 6 or 7 and K9 instantly became one of my favourite characters in Doctor Who even though he was only in this one episode
20:00 You only saw K-9 for one episode... But us Classic Whovians knew K-9 and Sarah Jane Smith from classic Who... we loved the callback and nostalgia.
The End: A girl and her dog walk off into the sunset.
Edit: oh and I think the next episode is one of my absolute favourites so can't wait to see you react to it.
Great episode - such a buzz for old Dr Who fans like me who loved Sara Jane. That character gets her own spin off series .. The Sara Jane Adventures.
Not only is Sarah Jane Smith one of the most popular companions in the entire classic series, she got her own kid-friendly DW spinoff. Which is kinda neat.
RIP Elizabeth Sladen.
You have to forget the "supernatural" The DW theory about "Werewolves" is that they ARE natural, just extra terrestrial
At least for now. I mean I don't think it's a spoiler but I'll keep it vague. A future unit leader does say they investigate the extra terrestrial and " growing more often, the supernatural"
They gave Sarah Jane her own spinoff, The Sarah Jane Adventures, made for the BBC's channel aimed at older elementary/middle school-aged kids (junior and early secondary for us Brits), CBBC. Still tells wonderfully adult, complex stories. Worth a watch. The opening special aired just after the DW Christmas Special between Series 2 and 3, and then Series 1 aired after Doctor Who Series 3.
So to enjoy the full impact of the Whoniverse, I'd finish Series 2, do Torchwood Series 1, then the 2006 DW Christmas Special, then the Sarah Jane New Year Special, then DW Series 3, then SJA Series 1, Torchwood Series 2, then DW Christmas Special and Series 4.
K-9 was originally introduced in Classic Who in the late 70s, during my childhood, when the space race had just ended and the craze for technology had moved to robots on Earth.
Back then communications were not that reliable, so they used expressions like "affirmative/negative" in military and law enforcement, spelled using "alpha, bravo, charlie" and at the time all those expressions sounded modern and robotic, so they went into characters like K-9.
With the multiple stories and adventured, many of us, Doctor Who fans ended up liking K-9 and it was nice seeing it introduced to New Who fans together with Sarah Jane Smith.
Yes Sarah Jane Adventures is the other spinoff after Torchwood! I stand by what I said last time, you can skip them if you want, but watch the pilot episodes at the appropriate times as they introduce concepts relevant to DW itself.
After series four . . . See a comedy special for children in need with the Doctor as a teacher and a future companion as a student. Don’t do this now but definitely look it up after series 4 is over.
Sarah Jane and Rose getting along is my favorite scene lol
I haven't seen it mentioned so Sarah Jane returns in 'The Sarah Jane Adventures', a 4 season series that she unfortunately died after. She was also joined by other previous companions at times.
Sadly she died before filming the last episodes in the series. Broke my heart. Met her twice and she always remembered me. Her daughter Sadie does Sarah Jane in the new audio stories.
I love how you call Sarah Jane a precious rose. As a lifetime dr who fan and a Brit. I’m loving your reactions😁
Victoria (Alexandrina Victoria; 24 May 1819 - 22 January 1901) was Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 20 June 1837 until her death in 1901.
Sarah Jane Smith was the Doctor's companion for 3 and 4, though I think she did meet Doctors, including on her own show. One thing I did like about what Doctor Who recently is that they started bringing back the older companions.
If you plan to watch Sarah Jane adventures, don't worry about spoilers. It is pretty self-contained other than two crossovers with the Doctor appearing. One with Tennant and the other with Matt Smith
At the time I first saw, Sarah Jane and K9 were just a bit of an interesting nod to the Classic Series that I never saw. Having now seen Sarah Jane’s classic episodes this episode became so much better for me.
She really is one of the best Companions in either era of DW, being present at a few important moments (seeing Jon Pertwee’s Doctor regenerating into Tom Baker’s, being present at the Dalek’s origins). So David/Ten being so excited to see her became so much more special 🙂
Sarah jane smith was one of doctor companion when in his 3rd and 4th body.
For the scene when Sarah and Rose are laughing at the Doctor, David Tennant walked in wearing a huge comedy moustache to get a more genuine reaction from them. They filmed the front shots of him separately afterwards. XD
Sarah Jane had a spin off on CBBC after the 3rd season of Doctor Who, it ran for 5 series until the passing of her actor Elisabeth Sladen, it's aimed at a slightly younger audience but it's still worth a look.
This episode was really impactful for the fandom, because until now were were unsure if it was a continuity reboot, or a continuiation of the originnal show, this episode firrmly settled that debate.
People do have to watch the people they love grow old and die. Yes, the Doctor could be setting him up for that over and over if he lets himself do it. You could make that part of the alienness of his character, even, that he was able to do it over and over. Although if you break down what some people have had to endure . . . I think it's not beyond human capacity either. I love what Sarah Jane says about pain and loss.
Sarah Jane was my first companion 50 years ago.
Only just being introduced to Sarah Jane and loving her with just this story. That is what Elizabeth Sladen can do, and why we love her.
Sarah Jane Smith was a companion to the Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee) and Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) during the 1970's of Classic Who which ran from 1963 to 1989 and was one of the most popular companions to explain proper context of how she left the Doctor the only way i can explain it if you don't want spoilers is to go watch Classic Who.
K-9 was also a companion to the Fourth Doctor but came long after Sarah Jane Smith had left the series.
Ah, what a sweet reaction. I love this episode. Makes me cry to this day. .
Doctor who did a spin-off show focusing on Sarah-Jane caler sarah jane adventures if you want to see more of her
Mickey, respectfully, you aren't even close to being K-9. And hello again Sarah Jane!
There is a spinoff called Sarah Jane adventures. It was a kid show, but pretty good.
Great reaction Emme, I realize your starting your journey with New Who which is great, you'll run into references from the past, but don't let that discourage you, when you feel you've reached the point when your finished, I hope you consider reacting to Classic Who from the beginning (1963) to start another journey with past Doctors and all his wonderful companions, including when the time comes Sarah Jane and K-9 too 🙂.
Sarah Jane Smith was a companion of the Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee) and the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker). She first appeared in "The Time Warrior" (1973-1974) and was a recurring companion until "The Hand of Fear" (1976), later making an appearance in "The Five Doctors" (1983). K9 first appeared in "The Invisible Enemy" (1977); the Mark III version of him we see in "School Reunion" is the one Sarah Jane met in a pilot for a spinoff called K-9 and Company (1981) (not to be confused with the 2010 spinoff K9, which we do not speak of).
Sarah Jane also had her own spinoff, The Sarah Jane Adventures, which started in 2007, the same year as Doctor Who series 3, and lasted for five short seasons until 2011. Torchwood also had its first season in 2006, the same year as Doctor Who series 2, and lasted for four seasons, also ending in 2011. The Sarah Jane Adventures was aimed at a younger audience than that of Doctor Who, while Torchwood was aimed at adults and older teenagers and was existentially terrifying, and not in a fun way. The two-part series 4 finale of Doctor Who from 2008 serves as a crossover event between these three shows.
In this very video Emme indicated that she doesn't want to be spoilered on how long characters are in the series. Please respect her wishes and edit out the 20th-century Doctor Who spoilers from your comment.
@@jeanlafayette7152 My intent was to helpfully inform, not to give spoilers or to be disrespectful. The fact that Sarah Jane is a companion until 1976 is hardly a spoiler because she's a previous companion so Emme would already infer she leaves at some point. Emme explicitly said she doesn't want to know for how much longer Rose or David Tennant as the Doctor are in the show. I have not given that information, and I look forward to her surprise.
I will not be deleting any of the contents of my comment at this time. Quite frankly that's a rude demand to make.
@@Sam-sr9zq Naming the specific story in which a companion departs is absolutely a spoiler.
@@jeanlafayette7152 I would consider a spoiler to be the canonical details and circumstances surrounding said departure.
@@Sam-sr9zq If Emme had asked people not to tell her how Rose and the Tenth Doctor leave the series, it would be reasonable to infer that she shared your opinion. However, she said she didn't want to know when those things happen, which implies that she has a broader definition of what constitutes a spoiler.
K9 never travelled with sarah, he appeared a couple of seasons later in late 70s but they made a spin off tv show called k9 and company in which the Dr sent sarah (on earth) this version of k9 and she and k9 solved mysteries together.... it never got past 1 episode though as not very good....

See ya!
She was one of the companions David Tennant watched im pretty sure - goodbye my sarah jane is personal…
FYI the Torchwood show is set in modern times. It just got its start from Queen Victoria and the previous episode.
Rip Elizabeth Sladen
Still hurts...
For those of us who lived through K9’s time in the Classic series, seeing him sacrifice himself was *very* sad!
Sarah Jane Smith was with the Doctor starting with the 3rd Doctor. My favorite was Leela.
'You bad dog'
'Affirmative'
Actually one of my favourite exchanges in the show
I gotta say though, the only thing that hurt worse than meeting K9 in this episode and seeing him destroyed, was knowing and loving him for 30 years and seeing him destroyed. He is a very good dog. Cheers.
That was K-9 mark 4. K-9 mark 1 stayed with Leela. K-9 mark 2 went with Romana. The Doctor sent K-9 mark 3 to Sarah Jane. Back in 1981 there was an attempt to do a spinoff series called K-9 and Company. It had Liz Sladen as Sarah Jane.
Emme asked people not to give away when characters leave, and in case she ever tries watching the 20th century series, it would be polite to avoid spoilering that as well.
Of the reactors that I've watched, you are the only one not to comment upon seeing Anthony Stewart Head (brother Lasser)when he appeared.
You've seen Supernatural, but apparently not Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Anthony Steward Head was a series regular during Buffy's first five seasons.
The Dr Who reactors are getting younger .....
Sarah Jane was a companion to The 3rd and 4th Doctor. She ended up becoming the best companion to fans and the shows history.
Yeah David Tennant would make a great teacher. I always thought he has that teacher look to him.
Rose is obviously has to be a dinner lady because if you remember from series 1 she said she left school early because of a guy and she had no A levels so she it the only job she can get really. 😂
RIP Liz Sladen, aka, Sarah-Jane Smith. K-9 was an intimate part of Classic Who. He'd been around for 30 years when he appeared in this episode. Doctor Who canon goes back 60+ years now. You can't catch up after viewing only 15 episodes. You also shouldn't worry - many things are made clear about the Doctor's history in NuWho. Cheers....
Sarah did see the Loch Ness Monster. It was an alien, of course :)
Emme basically Sarah Jane was a classic companion before 2005 Doctor Who that was in the era of the 3rd and 4th and 5th Doctors and had a pet robotic dog known as K9
5th?? I may have missed that episode. As she mentioned being dropped off I recall that being the 4th.
@Jennifer, you are correct, it was the fourth Doctor… they use this bit about being dropped off as a joke in the episode, where he didn’t drop her off in her home in Croydon, but instead in Aberdeen… (for reference for anyone reading this, Aberdeen is in Scotland just over 900km north away from Croydon which is in the south.
@jennifermorris6848 I think he's referring to "The Five Doctors" whom Sarah Jane Smith did meet the Fifth Doctor but it was very brief.
