    I remember my dad making bean hole beans back in about 1969 or 70 at our camp at the lake. Fond memory after 50 years.

    the best part of dutch ovens is the smell of onions frying outdoors and the looks from people cycling by your front yard... you can tell the moment they catch the smell in their noses. "what what...what is that???"

    Oh! Hey-ell yes!! I can almost smell that from the Midwest!
    It occurs to me, I've been far to fussy in taking apart pallets. Thanks for the great vid!
    BTW - you can NEVER say 'fire' too much, my Fire Brother.

      Fire = Good! and yes that is my speed method for breaking down pallets... Eric.

    I use the tire pry bar to open up the Dutch oven. It’s all metal and won’t burn and very heavy duty for lifting the lid.

    Hi. Great set up n cooking recipe. Question : Is your pallet heat treated or chemically treated? It makes a difference when using as firewood, because of possibly burning ofchemicals in wood, not so good for respiratory system. Looking forward to more outdoor cooking. Peace to you and yours

      @gardenfork  4 роки тому +1

    I have heard of people cooking roast beef in a pot. No bricks, just a fire in dirt, covered. They said it was delicious.

    • @gardenfork
      @gardenfork  4 роки тому +2

      That works too! The brick makes it easier to keep the fire going and less dirt in your pot.
