  • If you only need to grill one or two small pieces of meat, you can easily use your Charcoal Chimney to cook up a meal. In this video I'll show you some simple modifications I made to common grilling gear to make this possible.
Also, you have to check out the super awesome looking my buddy Russell did using this method over at his channel: • Massive Burger Cooked ...

One very innovative idea RY and I've never seen this before. I too have a Weber charcoal starter. Add a small baffle plate between the coals and the grill and you'd have.........an indirect mini barrel smoker perhaps? Thanks for sharing your grilling/smoking ideas RY. Cheers!

When I was a kid, we only used a Charcoal BBQ. When we finished cooking we picked out the larger colas and dumped them into a bucket of water. After we put them out on a rock to dry in the sun. By the next weekend they were good for a second go. Ontario Canada.

My wife, my granddaughter and I have cooked hot dogs on a charcoal starter many times. We use wooden shish kabob sticks. After we cook we can burn the sticks. We dig a little hole and bury the remaining charcoal, we rinse the starter in the water and and wrap it in a garbage bag for next time. Very easy and always fun!

" Instead of cutting the grill grate, why not just push a couple nails or skewers into a few perimeter holes from the top, to keep it from sliding?"

Great ideas, hadn't thought of that before. Here's another idea for the "grilling basket, just drop in 4 roofing nails in each corner and it will keep the basket from shifting much and the basket can still be used as usual.

Did this tonight with some chicken breast for my dog who I am desperately trying to get to eat. Nice cause he enjoyed laying outside for a little bit while I cooked and he ate more than he has in a week. (He is basically in hospice care so he gets anything he wants like the good boy he is)

This is genius. Thanks for sharing. I recently discovered you can also use an "adjustable roasting rack" that will fit snuggly over the chimney starter if you don't have a dremel.

We bought two and I'm getting a third one so we can bunch them together and balance our pots if need be
Also, if you want to cook with just one it's very handy
    .
We keep them to cook during power outages; which happens to often bc of disasters here in N. Ms. AL. & TN. area ❄️⚡🌪️🌪️

If you don't have charcoal, pick up some wood that's lying around. Use some dry leaves or pine needles underneath to get a fire started. It's an easy thing to grill on out in the woods. Just find a flat rock and set it on it.

General dollar has little grill baskets that are just the right size. The seasonal items should be stocked soon. They also carry a grilling basket with a longer handle that snaps together that holds about 4 burger patties. So easy to flip the basket and not have to use a fork or spatula.

hi: how about this: I have a iron cast iron skillet and I want to make it extremely hot. Isn't the chimney better at concentrating all that heat? How about grapeseed oil or avocado oil with a high smoke point and the cast iron skillet and the chimney? Wont that be the best set up for high heat cooking?

@@Iambriangregory ok, that was long ago so had to recheck. Yea, many for various reasons have taken the lower grate out and turned it over. So instead of the cone pointing up, it's now pointing down. Not really that difficult. I prefer it that way and many others did also. But some not. So just try it and see. Hope this explains it.
