The first CMS that installs directly into any Next.js app - Payload 3.0 has arrived

- Опубліковано 6 лют 2025
- 🎉 It's here: 🚀 Payload 3.0 is the first-ever Next.js native CMS that can install directly in your existing /app folder. It's truly the start of a new era for headless CMS.
Benefits over a regular CMS ...
- Deploy anywhere, including serverless on Vercel for free.
- Combine your front+backend in the same /app folder if you want.
- Don't sign up for yet another SaaS - Payload is open source.
- Query your database in React Server Components.
- Both admin and backend are 100% extensible.
- No vendor lock-in.
- Never touch ancient WordPress code again.
- Build faster, never hit a roadblock.

Now we need more videos on how to build websites with Payload and Nextjs why not a 3 to 4 hours of one huge crash course :) thanksssss
Coming soon ....
@@payloadcms Can I Co-operate to do that? I'm really into
Also, can we please get a video on how to deploy everything (database, images, etc.) without falling into a pay-as-you-go plan?
@@payloadcms ❤
This is the GTA VI of the CMSs. Great work!
Huuuge congratulations!
I've been using the 3.0 BETA for months now, it's such a huge improvement to 2.0. You and the community can be really proud of what was created in the end :)
We love to hear it.
Killing it! Congratulations!
Make a video on it!
@@evangelinemmayie6116 i support this
Thanks Adrian!
88 to 27 dependencies is crazy! Good job and congratulations! Can’t wait to try it tonight!
This is the best open source project I have ever come across. Period!
I can’t emphasise enough how grateful I am that you have put so much work and love into this!
Thanks for the 🖤
amazing guys, finally no more breaking changes to deal with haha. It would be awesome if you could add more content to the docs and guides and examples. Also wish to see more video content too. Some interesting guides would be about lexical and how to modify payload UI
More videos and more content en route to support this release!
Huge heartfelt congratulations. We've been using Payload in production for a while now and our clients love it. It's a great developer experience too.
I have never been this excited for a stable release of a software. This is amazing. I'm definitely going to use payload to build some cool things.
This is the most dope project I have ever seen. Will be using it for my next client project who wants to migrate from WordPress
In most other tech stack youtube comment sections--I see a lot of hate, but Payload, nothing but love! Amazing community! Congrats on the 3.0 launch. :) More power to you guys!
I've worked with many Headless CMS in the past, and Payload has always been one of my favorites, but now it's absolutely insane what you guys managed to achieve. Kudos to the whole team!
Thank you to the community for this. I recall this was supposed to comeout best by mid september. However, looking at all these changes I can see how much effort was put into this. Can't wait to update my project to 3.0
This year was the year that the company would go into starting its own CMS, because the vendor lock-in/trial/subscriptions is something we really did not wanted to go into and then this video popped up, and I just discovered Payload and what it is about, this is amazing!!!! Your hard work is being noticed, and I feel it in your voice, thank you and the team for this!
James and the rest of the team and the community! Congratulations!!!
Thanks Rodrigo!
So excited that 3.0 is live now! I have been utilizing the beta for ~3 months now, and love it. I appreciate the time and work you have put into a dev focused CMS. Great job to the team!
Tracking this release from the side for the last couple of months, and it's just amazing how much you've been able to deliver depsite the ever growing scope. Amazing work and looking forward to using it.
Congratulations on your release, lots of cool stuff 🎉Our company is using Payload 3 to build our CMS. Thank you for making this video I find it really helpful to get an overview of the new features and improvements, would really like to have more of these videos, feature deep dive etc. Again, really cool stuff
Yes! You guys rock. I use Payload for the last month and it is so powerful!
My wait is over.
Congrats!! Thank you guys!!
congrats 🎉🎉🎉
i absolutely love payload, and have been using the beta for months! managing content has never been easier
Select and Populate were a huge request. Amazing to see you guys implemented the functionality 🙌
Really awesome stuff. It is crazy how these guys are so nimble is such a small team!
I will get my hands dirty ASAP and create some videos about my experience!
Now I'm super hyped two build my mega projects and bring my potential competitors down to knees
Thanks to the awesome, super creative and productive team of PayloadCMS this is all possible
It would be great to have a full course for 3.0 in Udemy. I would buy it! Love your job, guys
Awesome! Was waiting for the InlineBlock and the Join field. Well done! 👍
Awesome. We love Payload at work.
this is huge, congrats! keep pushing
So cool! Congraz to the team! Well done! 🚀
excited to try it out. CMS spot reserved for the next site.
I like your open source approach! congratulations
Congrats on PayloadCMS 3.0, this is a massive release 👍
Thank you!
i've been waiting for such release for a loooong time, thank you so much for such incredible effort and outstanding project
Congrats team. Looking forward to coding over the winter holiday.
You have done a great job. Thanks to Payload team
This is such a great release. I think what I love the most with Payload is the simple, no-bs admin interface and the code-based config (and many more things). However, I can't help but wonder how the company will be able to get any money from the project in the long run if it's all free and open-source.
Some of the largest companies in the world are already taking advantage of Payload's enterprise services. :) We're here to stay.
@payloadcms glad to hear it!
Well-done, guys ✨ Lot of hardwork!
Congrats. I am all in for Payload 3.0 :)
This was way too on perfect time for me, i was planning to make a blog and ecommerce and the timing for this to popup on my feed is amazing,
Amazing. I just love it. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE IN YOUR TEAM

We need more tutorials ❤

This looks great been meaning to redo my web portfolio and merge my blog into one project, This may be a good opportunity to do so. Thank you guys
Great work Payload team!
Wow! Congrats!!
Congrats guys 🙌
can we get a production ready project tutorial in payload 3.0
☝
No
We'll have one soon. In the meantime, bytegrad has one: ua-cam.com/video/0Pz9g654OIc/v-deo.html
congrats guys!
Well done Bro, It seems that someone has been awake for few weeks
Developed a project since beta v1, all the way to beta v135. The journey was awesome, congrats!
Thanks for putting it through the ringer!
Congratulations 🎉🎉
hell yeah, payload is fitting pretty well for what I wanted on a cms, and decided to use it for my site even during the beta, now to move it to actual payload 3, which will be very worth it.
btw would be cool you also having some tutorials/showcases of using payload with other frontends (astro, nuxt, sveltekit, etc), as I actually use paylaod with an astro frontend (plus using fastify as a 'glue' to let both use the same url) in a monorepo and it does work well, but did have to do quite a bit of trial and error to get to that solution
It's very high on our list to get some examples out on using Payload in other frameworks. I've already used it in solidjs and it was a fantastic developer experience
Awesome guys!
So excited to jump into it.
Congratulations 🎉
Thanks!
BY FAR the best cms.
This is such huge news!
Congrats 🎉
This brings a tear to my eye. Thank you for this…
We cried a lot before the release, but thrilled for your happy tears.
This is indeed *significantly* improving my life. Will use in my new project.
This is great!
Amazing update. I like to use Payload!
New to payload ... first impressions is amazing going to start learning and using soon
Hell yeah!

Let's goooooooo!
Wow, this is awesome!
IM EXCITEDDD!!!!!
Fantastic 👏👏🥰🥰 Congratulations 🙌🙌
This is amazing!! Cheers 🍻
Nice!! This is too cool, watch out!
"boom, done" is back
This is EPIC.
Really, a big thank you!
this will help a lot.
This is awesome!
I can’t wait. When are you going to but out a full tutorial?
🥳Great news. Been using the beta for a while now.
Would love some docs on testing.
Didn't know Thor can code. Cool!
Amazing!!
As a SvelteKit user : Is there a tutorial planned how to integrate Payload with SvelteKit, serverside authentication / payload serverside requests and so on?
Yes, we have a lot more content coming. In the meantime, ask away in our Discord!
Also Nuxt/Nitro?
🎉❤ thank you
This is just a beginning 🎉
Really thinking to start migrating my wife’s Wordpress site by end of 2025 with such CMS.. it seems so much more natural to understand, customize and debug..
Awesome!
When creating the InlineBlocks is it possible to fetch data from external sources to lets say fill in some product names etc? Making it possible to create rich dynamic content pages based on a select product
Absolutely that's possible!
best cms ever
Amazing 🎉so glad to see you delivering new features so quickly
I would love to see more framework examples specially Sveltekit which is what I love and use
Nice Lexical text editor. Would be sick if this worked with resend emails.
Happy Day!
This is such an amazing project ❤ can we install payload in our existing nextjs 15 app or do we need to start from scratch
Congratulations, thank you for your team's hard work, playload cms is soo good except the performance on Vercel! If I deploy the payload cms on Vercel, the admin parts is super slow, sometime I event need to wait 2 to 3 seconds. But if I deploy it on my own server, it behaves normal. I am sure that this problem caused by serverless function, because the payload cms admin uses dynamic route to generate the page, but somehow the Vercel didn't cache it. Is there any plan to solve it in the future?
We have a few PRs that should massively improve performance on Vercel actually. Big focus of ours to get Vercel working as well as we can!
Is the job queue similar to directus flows? Can i use web hooks to trigger db inserts and things like that?
POSTGRES STABLE LET'S GO
Congratulations guys! Will you guys be making tutorial videos on all the different Field types? Can you demonstrate nesting the Blocks Field?
