Caterpillar 990K Large Wheel Loader at work in Lime Quarry | Biggest Wheel Loader in Denmark

Back in June 2024 we got the chance to visit Dankalk Lime Quarry in the Northern part of Denmark. To transport the lime from the field to the production facility they are using a CAT - Caterpillar 990K wheel loader. This wheel loader is the biggest loader operating in Denmark. It has a operating weight on 81 tonnes, and the bucket filled with lime is 10 tonnes. Some when you see it driving here it weights around 90 tonnes.

For et par uger siden var vi endnu engang taget en tur til Løgstør for at besøge Dankalk. En oplevelse som endelig gik i opfyldelse. De fik for nogle år tilbage udskiftet deres gamle Komatsu WA800 - se video her ( • Komatsu WA800 - A Lege... ) til denne nye CAT 990K gummiged, som også i dag er Danmarks største gummiged.
Køreklar vægt på 81 tons, og en fuldt skovl med kalk vejer ca. 10 tonnes, så en samlet vægt på omkring 90 tons. I videoen vil i se video udefra maskinen, video fra førerhuset og også lidt video fra dronen.

I was running a old 950 H and in 2020 he replaced it with a brand new piece of 💩💩💩💩💩 Volvo 110 😞😞😞 I miss the old kitty, it would out work this Volvo any day.

Good idea would be to weld chains into bucket so the material wont stick to it.
