Glad so many of you like this - I've got it permanently saved on screen! No have a blast of it at full volume nearly every day - better than any medicine! :)
Glastonbury 2019 - pre lockdowns and Covid! Still one of my all time favourites - reminds me of The Yardbirds (Yes, I am that old!), early Who and Stones, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, etc, etc. The combination of instruments is brilliant and as somebody commented it sounds like many more instruments! I've listened to a few of their other tracks, and some I liked but this is certainly the best! I remember seeing it at the end of Glastonbury and thinking that was one of the best performances for a long time there. Seeing the audience bopping especially those two boys really enjoying themselves added to the pleasure! Glastonbury 2023 beat that if you can!
Mate, don't knock it. My old man loves the Yardbirds and I don't blame him. Then I go and love Hunter S Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Respect.
I was listening to this a lot when I was reading a book on Chaos Theory. I recently started re-reading the book and I instantly felt like listening to the album again.
Amazed at the display of accomplished musicianship and creativity from these guys. They sound so much bigger than just a three-piece outfit. A lot of that goes to the keyboardist, but extra kudos for making it all so endlessly inventive! And the freaking concept if the band's name, are you kidding me? This sounds like an interstellar comet speeding through the solar system, heading right for old Sol, and too damn bad for whatever gets in it's way on the trip! Literally, listening to this, my mind explodes with all these images of a gigantic comet speeding through the solar system, x-septillions of tons of ice and volatile organic compounds, radiating ahead of its path all these idiosyncratic electro-magnetic effects on the weather and the infrastructure of the third little rock out from Sol. Like God, saying, "Hello, mankind. It's been a while. How's that space program coming along? WHAT??? I've got 80-quadrillion tons of ice arriving Wednesday morning, 08:00, and you're all still here? WTF, MANKIND?"
Also: in a group of three standout musicians, the drummer is amazing! He just keeps driving the music forward, 120+ mph, start to finish. All you other guys who want to hit the rocks with the sticks? This guy, right here? This is how you do it.
We were hosted by friends and watched this concert on tv and wow we were all blown by this performance the Saxo with the drums 🪘 I was screaming this is amazing music! Fuck even the guy on the Roland . top class good time music . Very trippy too love it rock n roll jazz the future
I'M SO SAD I WOULD GIVE MY EVERYTHING TO SEE THIS SHOW LIVE BUT THEY NEVER COME TO MY COUNTRY. THE COMET IS NOT COMING TO MY COUNTRY. SO SADDDDDDDDDDDDD
Dan's a great musician, and a nice guy, very chilled out, he had his eyes closed a lot, only because he was sweating and his suncream was stinging his eyes👍🏴
@@terranova139 Then they'll get to tour with him. They have a sound and an attraction that I know he will instantly get into. Happened with MGMT and other quality acts in the past. Just wishing them well and a platform such as touring with radiohead would be swell. agreed?
Anyone who loves The Comet is Coming will also love Sons of Kemet. Same sax player. Same high energy avant-garde jazz rock/fusion. Just minus the synth.
I think more people should be experiencing this.
Please pass it on.
This is one of the most powerful things I've ever listened to. Absolutely incredible.
Best thing I’ve ever seen on BBC 2 at 1 in the morning
Now this is what I call different. This is my first time coming across these geezers. What an absolute belter these geezers are.
The comet is definitely coming.

Having listened to this song so many times, this is not exactly how I imagined it would sound live
sounded a lot better in person
I think the tempo is a lil too fast.
@@oakbox12345 i think youre out of your mind !
How did you imagine it? 😂
I’m sure playing the sax is taxing on your lungs so live it must be hell!🔥
Fire duly summoned.
0:39 when he leaves the saxo and all we can hear is the beat. goosebumps began there all over my body.
I'M SO SAD I WOULD GIVE MY EVERYTHING TO SEE THIS SHOW LIVE BUT THEY NEVER COME TO MY COUNTRY. THE COMET IS NOT COMING TO MY COUNTRY. SO SADDDDDDDDDDDDD

Roland SH-2 through an Ampeg amp + a Juno 60 - Most badass keyboard setup ever. And the guy sure knows how to use it.
