Make this ANY SIZE by adding more rounds even XL adult size can be made by just doing more rounds until it fits half your body then repeat the same number of rounds for the other side. Use ANY yarn and use the hook size it states on your yarn label. If you want a LONG cardigan or jacket even a sweater add rounds to the body once you sew it up. To make it a sweater sew up 3 quarters of the front section leaving an opening that will fit over your head.
Amazing! Another pattern I have to do! You certainly keep us all busy! I have a new great-niece so now I can use pink! Thanks!
Hi Allison how do you make the hood please ❤️❤️
@AllisonRusselsChrochetChannel.
Thank you so much for this, so pleased bless you 😊
Hey what size hook did you use please ?

This is such a great idea!! I have a new niece on the way so I'm going to make one for her. I'm also going to make one for my nephew (big brother) in a navy yarn and then sew on sailboat appliques and maybe add pockets so a 4 year old has aomewhere to put his rocks and toy cars. ❤
I have made a couple of these for myself , I added a hood and pockets , and they look great .... if I do say so myself 😂.
I’ve made at least 10 of these, and I’m an advanced crocheter. They are so fun and relaxing. I love how a white, or oatmeal color looks. Actually, a black one would be pretty. I like how each UA-cam crocheter adds their own touch to this sweater. It’s been done a lot. Maybe it’s the trendy sweater for 2023.
My favorite too❣️
My sister was making an adult one but gave up until I saw it and realised she only had 5 points on it and was getting SO FRUSTRATED it wouldn't fold awww poor sandra nearly kicked herself when she realised her mistake 😢
Love this I’ve made two hope to do a child and also a plus size but I haven’t tried turning after each round
Oh my goodness!!! Just adorable and so so easy!! I'm thinking shells around the sleeves, bottom and collar... this could be done in a color too... thank you so very much for sharing ❤❤❤
Alison it's adorable. I'm sure with you help and instruction we can all do this. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Hi Allison I just had to tell you I've watched a lot of tutorials for the baby hexagon cardi and yours is the best very clearly explained I make for a charity somehow will be great.thanks so much Allison 💝love your channel💝
You are so welcome!
Thank You. You take so much time to demonstrate each stage.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Alison for sharing this tutorial, used pink sparkling wool absolutely beautiful .
Really good pattern. I am now making 2nd side to show this one off in a lush green colour next Knitting and Crochet Club. A perfect quick to make crochet item for this year donations to a local charity or charity shop. Thanks.
As always a brilliant clear crotchet video from you. Just started one. The man's blanket stitch throw just finished and has gone to a friend of my grandson who fell broke his scull and had a bleed on the brain. All good making a good recovery with his get well throw thanks to you.x
My daughter's twins were born 6 days ago. I will be making these for them! ❤
Wonderful!
Dear Alison, i like to keep my begining and ends on the corder every time. To do this, i join to the first corner cluster in the row, with a Ch1 and a SC, Then it doesn't matter if you want to turn your work or not, you start with the second cluster of a corner and end with the first cluster ch1 and a SC' For beginners (or me) you can't lose the count of stitches on a side from the knot. And the closure is always hidden by the next level. I love the simplicity of this jacket. With most hexagons you have to struggle to keep out the ripple. With this pattern it makes it possible! LOVE it!
I have NEVER kept the ripple or wave out a granny stitch hexagon no matter how hard I try there is just too many stitches it works with a single UK treble or USA double crochet but not a 3 granny cluster..I am going to try it with sets of 2 stitch clusters that might work. My friend Liz Fox has been crocheting forever and she also says a granny stitch hexagon will ripple or wave after the 5th or 6th round. That's why they are usually always made small. But the big ones are perfect for folding into cardigans jackets and sweaters you can add a hood to the collar too.
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel The 2 stitch cluster works like a charm. I made a rug with large hexagons 8 years ago, No ripple. But not Granny clusters either.
Lovely. I could listen to you all day with that lovely accent!
I love this! This project goes on my todo list. Thank you!
Love it x
I’ve started one of these little ‘Granny’s baby cardi’ this very morning. Coming along nicely and just like our faithful Granny cluster blanket it grows as fast as Topsy. I’m using a fine, baby double knitting wool and a smallish 3.5 hook. (Well I think it’s that size…..it’s an old bone hook that my mother used all the time with double knitting wool). I like to have 2 projects on hooks and my other is a Granny blanket in 5 colours, in the the style of Kath Kidston colours and I have to say that it’s gorgeous. I love ol’Granny😍. Thanks for this little cardigan.
You are amazing i can’t thank you enough you are such a great instructor make it so easy I love this cardigan honestly you are the best I love all your videos I learned a lot thank you again all the best please do more of these videos
Instead of doing the last chain 2, try using a US double crochet. Then you don't have to turn the work, you can just do your chain 3, then do your US double crochets in the space created.
I will give it a try thank you.
This is how I make mine! I hdc (us) across the last ch sp, so much needed than sl st anywhere. X
Brilliant can’t wait to make for my new granddaughter thank you ☘️☘️

@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel a pullover sweater? By stitching the front the same as the seam for the back? 🙃
@@darrinmckeehan9074 yes
I absolutely love watching your tutorials! Simple but not patronising, and i could honestly listen to you read the phone book tbf! Lol. I often havd one of your videos playing while i make somebody elses pattern x. I would like some advice though if you could? I'm a moderately skilled hooker but I've never made baby clothes before. A friend is about to become a grandmother and ive no concept of how small to make these for a newborn. Working with a dk baby yarn, roughly how many rounds for newborn?
I love the easy pattern. I’m making the for a 0to 3 month. How many rounds should that be .
Lovly patterned tell me one thing do part jo banana hai vo same proccess hai kya.
It’s so lovely but how can I make the sleeves narrower as it is very wide
Nice 👏👏👏 love from Pakistan🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰❤❤❤
Thank you
How long did this take Alisonn x
Hi Alison my name is angela
I love to watch you making things. I have just started to make this little jacket can you tell what hook size you used and yarn gage I am using a DK and a 4mm hook, you have done 11 rounds and I wondering how many do you think should do for the baby jacket
Thanks for some great videos
It depends on what size best advice is if you already have a cardigan or Sweater the baby size measure it against your folded hexagon I used aran yarn weight 4 so mine didn't need much rounds.
Great pattern😍....do you have a hexagon cardigan pattern with a contrast border for all edges?
Not yet!
Do you have a pattern for adult sizes using this same concept? I love this and am making a cardigan for my coming grandbaby.
I love this jacket, but I want to know what hook and size yarn you used.
i used UK double knitting and a 4.5mm hook
how many round would you do for a new born please xx thank you love the accent
A newborn size is approximately 19 inches around and 10 inches long. So just experiment until your hexagons will be that size.
I used an arran yarn weight 4 in usa. It depends also on the yarn thinner yarn will be more rounds but @KM-ik2sk says try measuring when folded to 10 inch long that should keep you on track
@AllisonsRusselsCrochetChannel.
Hello thank you so very much for this video, How big would I make these for 0.3 months old babies, I would like to make for my local hospital?
