Will the SP-3 setup work well for charging 12V deep cycle marine batteries?
With an output of 240 milli-amps during full sunlight hours, the SP-3 acts as a maintainer as opposed to re-charging batteries. It works very well on all sizes of 12 volt batteries including large deep cycle marine batteries.

It is not possible to use multiple solar panels with one control box. Please only use the solar panel that comes with the control box in each SolarPulse unit.

Would a AGM battery setup benefit from this technology or would the pulses have a undesirable effect because of the difference in construction?
Thank you for your question. Our solar chargers work well on AGM and all lead-acid battery types. In AGMs the sulfuric acid is absorbed in a fiberglass mat between the positive and negative lead plates so the chemistry is the same as a wet or gel cell lead-acid battery. Using our products with AGM batteries is a good combination for improved battery performance and extended cycle life.

Can the circuit box be installed out in the elements or does it need to be in a weatherproof box?
The circuit box is weather resistant but not waterproof. We recommend mounting it inside the battery box if possible.
I am interested in the Solar Pulse SP-3 to maintain the charge in my 12V RV battery while in storage. Is the SP-3 charger intended to be attached to the battery while the battery is still connected to RV?
Thank you for your interest in our products. All of our SolarPulse Solar Chargers, including our SP-3, can be installed permanently to your battery whether it is in or out of the vehicle and whether it is being charged by another charger or is idle. They will pulse and charge the battery slightly whenever it is receiving sunlight and will work in conjunction with an alternator or any other charger.

@@PulseTechProducts After having the SP-3 connected to my RV battery on my RV for about a week, the RV battery is dead. The solar panel received moderate sunlight. The circuit box indicator was not solid red often. Usually blinking red. Is it possible the SP-3 could not keep up with the RV battery drainage due to hard wired items like CO2 detector? I connected solar panel to my semi that has 4 batteries. The light on circuit box shuts off when I connect to batteries. When I disconnect panel from positive and negative from batteries the red light turns back on?
