I’m surprised it’s taken this long for a British version of Jeopardy
I think it’s been tried several times before but never lasted very long. Hopefully this one bucks the trend!

@@TheBlazingOptimist It first aired on Channel 4 in the early 1980s where it was hosted by Derek Hobson, then it aired on ITV from 1990-1993 hosted first by Chris Donat then by Steve Jones who had previously hosted The Pyramid Game, then finally on Sky One in 1995 hosted by Paul Ross.
I remember it from 1990 onwards. To me Steve Jones was the best host. I also watched in USA hosted by the late great Alex Trebek. I remember as teenager would watch it on ITV during half term holidays @@AllenJeremy
I just watched two episodes on UA-cam - I think Stephen is doing an excellent job - I like the way he adds information and puts the questions in context ..

Dead weird for ITV too, they’re not stingy on The Chase. I would understand if it were BBC…

I love the show! I would increase the speed of the show, the flow needs to be had fast as the American version (and still be an hour long) The US version is also more chatty with constant laughing and having fun. - Probably because of the faster tempo
I do love the UK version but copy American version more for fine tuning! :-)

What’s up with the amounts on the board?
It includes a second Jeopardy! Round before Double Jeopardy! (Three rounds before Final Jeopardy!)… but otherwise just a little lower totals going into Final Jeopardy!

He left Qi voluntarily. He did 13 seasons. If they stick to the original concept, he’ll have done half of it and Sandi will wrap it all up.
this is pretty good show but the questions seem very difficult for an itv midweek afternoon show- its certainly harder than tipping point!

Answering each question with a question seems stupid and would really get on my nerves, why not just say “is the answer?…”
I agree, it's just a pointless gimmick. It sounded particularly stupid in the first show with things like the response to an anagram of Bristol being "What is Bristol?" If someone asked me "What is Bristol?" I wouldn't reply by giving them an anagram of Bristol.

i can't believe you think those "questions" are questions. they are ANSWERS and the contestants give the questions.
@@dynahzm I get that, but some of the answers are not sensible answers to the questions. If someone asked me, "What is Bristol?" I would answer that it is a city in the west of England. I wouldn't answer by giving them an anagram of Bristol, like in the first episode of this series.

oh dear stephen should just shut up. his didactic condescension is ruining this great game. booooooooring. alex trebek he ain't. big shoes to fill admittedly but he doesn't even attempt to dress the part. perhaps he is getting bad direction? alex made the contestants and the game the stars.
