I didn't even think of the possibility of AI generated 3d texture maps, stylized grass and wood textures suddenly sounds less stressful now
That's one of the first things I thought of, actually. Every time I get into 3D art, the biggest reason I quit are the textures. The free ones are crap, and the good ones are ridiculously expensive.
I am using Stable Diffusion, it is open source, you can run it locally with your GPU, I am working on a optimized version, now It works on my 2GB GPU with images up to 512x512 and create seamless textures 😎
NMKD's gui version just got an update too. He gave it inpainting!
In case you want to use Stable Diffusion for this, it is as simple as adding parameter 'tiling' to the image, it will output seamless. There is also a free addon that uses SD to output the texture/image directly into Blender Image Editor, called Dream Textures.
I like to put the term ' kaleidescope ' very trippy

I had no idea Dall-E can do texturing or 3D art. When I get my free tokens for next month for being part of the beta. I definitely going to experiment with ideas with that now.

Using Craiyon, I was actually able to get a decent hair texture generated.. Do need to see if I could possibly do ghibli shaded textures..
Random decal/prop art. Like medical degrees in a doctors office, planets in a physicist research laboratory, random noted machinery documents on them in the maintenance area, "Warning Gravitational Anomalies" sign for spaceship quantum engine room.

I fear that everyone who just goes into Dall-E and AI art might get themself into trouble if they don't do this.
On the topic now: Really good use of generating textures😲 Especially because there is no intellectual property issue. One can't have intellectual property on a tree bark. Then again guess I bought my camera and photographed thousands of tree barks for nothing 🤷
I often drew stylized textures of treebarks and e.g. box tree myself. I wonder how that will look like if generated stylized by Dall-E
Blender now has some amazing plugins for AI stable diffusion to generate textures free if you have a CUDA card. DALL-E is cool but it’s expensive so for generating unique free textures that seamlessly tile check them out. So much AI stuff is coming and down the pipeline it’s insane, and best to see it running locally with AI models that are free if you have the GPUs

The success rate however still greatly depends on the type of texture you are looking for. Some time ago I was trying to get a proper scifi trimsheet, hoping for some original detail, but the results were underwhelming. Anyway, just wait a month and we'll be there.
I've been using dream textures in Blender. It lets me create wood patterns based on the wood type. I've always wanted to have oak cabinets rather than "wood". Very nice to work with, and free.

Finally got access to Dall-E and it is everything you said it was and more :) What search terms do you use to create characters?
Congrats man!!! Always type in "professional" at the beginning, that will limit the algorithm to only look for "professional" looking images - Then generally at the end use "," and type "trending on whateverWebsite", I usually use "trending on ArtStation/Instagram/Shutterstock" etc -
