Late to the party! Just found your video great job so much so I went and ordered the flares from Rough Country. Also subscribed to your channel and an big thumbs up.🛻
Did you really need to take the adhesive tape off? Reason i ask is your new flares seem like pocketed flares, and they should just sit on top with out causing issues
The link is the same style of fender flare. It’s just the updated version. Rough Country changed them a little bit, but that is the Pocket Fender flares. Same style as what is in the video, just updated version.
I just follwed the link for these. I gues R.C. changed them to 2 piece and eliminated the indentation running the length of the flares, under the rivets. I like yours not the "new" version unfortunately
The adhesive on the Air Design flares was so cut up and torn from taking them off the truck, I decided to scrap them instead of trying to save them. I figured people probably wouldn’t want them since they would have to completely clean off the leftover adhesive and apply all new adhesive in order to use them.
No. The ZR2 front fenders are cut different for improved approach angle at the front of the truck. You would need to find fender flares specifically for the ZR2.
When I got the new fender flares, the instructional video that I watched for installation before making the purchase didn’t show the adhesive so I didn’t know that the front ones would be stuck on with adhesive. Apparently it’s not very common to find fender flares that don’t use some form of adhesive. 🤷♂️
I bought and attached the air design fenders 3 years ago and a few days ago on a road trip they finally detached from the wind pressure.
I hope your truck is ok and they didn’t cause any kind of traffic issue. I imagine that would be slightly terrifying while driving down the road.
@@SouthpawGarage that would be something else... Luckily there was a travel stop the next exit and we duct taped both front fenders down. 😂

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Thanks for the insight will be doing mine this weekend!
Nice work. Looks great
Nice look and video
I'm getting the same ones for my 21 Silverado custom
Love the bolt rugged look 😁

I didn’t want to leave the adhesive on the truck. I wanted to make sure the truck was as clean as possible before doing the new install.
Don’t see those same flares you installed on website the one you have in link are different

Looks nice bro!! I want to get the black ones on a cherry red.

Yea. They did update the design of them and got rid of the single piece version.
Nice! Are the air design flares for sale? Definitely interested

@@SouthpawGarage Ty for the response!
Nbs body style is the king of the fender flare
Want to donate the old ones to me????... 😊😊😊 nice video man!
Those old ones are long gone. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Do this work for the Silverado Zr2??
No. The ZR2 front fenders are cut different for improved approach angle at the front of the truck. You would need to find fender flares specifically for the ZR2.
Super helpful, thanks
Glad the video was helpful!
do they come matt black satin or flat?
They’re just standard matte black plastic when order them.
You could have left those on, held them back just a little bit and used clear silicone. They would have never came off and rain wouldn't have got in.
I really wanted to go for a different look, also. I wanted to get fender flares that were a little wider and paint match them to the truck.
Why didn't you just reattach the air design
I wanted something different.
Really bro ? they were ugly the new ones give it a better look
@@efraortiz2246 I guess I prefer the old ones
Fool me once......shame on you........fool me twice........shame on me!!! Still using fender flares with adhesive🤤

Now you gonna need wider tires
Not necessarily. An offset wheel could help fill the space also. 🤔
Now it's time to quit making a beautiful truck look like a hyperactive kid's Tinker Toy.
Looks terrible on stock wheels
Thank you for your opinion.
