    The Haley Strategic Incog X holster is well made out of quality material and it is comfortable. Overall, I was not happy with the way the experience and was pretty disappointed to receive a holster that had already been open and was missing parts.
    I was quite surprised to not be able to find a why video regarding the design ideas with the Incog X holster.

    This had been a great holster for me. My gun goes in and out of the holster with no twisting or turning to defeat retention.

    I bought mine for my G45 and haven’t had any issues. Works fine for my 45, 19 and 26 and the draw is as easy as any other holster I’ve owned. The extra length isn’t always a bad thing with a shorter firearm. It prevents the holster from keeling and tipping forward causing printing. Everyone’s mileage varies though and what works for some might not work for others.

    I bought it for my 43x and used it for practically a month and honestly I didn't like it, after watching your video I was sure that this holster doesn't fit me. I just informed Safariland that I want to return the holster. Thank you for the video.

      No problem…I was disappointed to say the least. IMO beyond not being able to adjust the ride height the clip system is outdated. There’s much better ways to adjust those clips now a days without having to completely remove screws.

    I completely agree with you, even the videos are misleading. They say is compatible with 16 different guns but they don’t say which ones and when I looked on their website there’s no information about that at all. Pretty crappy for a company with such good reputation. I’m very disappointed. Thank you for this review, is good to know that I’m not the only one frustrated about this.

      Yeah, I think confused is the right interpretation. Very little information, and zero explanation from what I could find. I just feel like there was money in the deal which is okay, but that’s all that mattered.

    Excellent review. I purchased for both the X Macro and the G45. It’s rough to deep conceal given the placement of the clips. It’s extremely comfortable, but not where it needs to be for a true concealment holster. Still waiting on the G45 version to be delivered, but to be honest, they might both be going back. Thanks for the honest and detailed review.

    I ordered mine last Monday. 19/17 w/ TLR7. It arrived that Friday. Shipping box was HSP stamped w/ HSP tape. Internal packaging was similar to yours.
    PRD took me about an hour or two for my chimp brain learn about. Like you mentioned, I didn't even read the instructions, because I had come from so many other holsters i assumed this would be about the same. To be able to reliably defeat the PRD, it's clearly going to take more hours of draw and "dry-fire" practice.
    The retention (red washer) screw backed out and only by an absolute miracle was I able to find the screw and rubber spacer. For my weapon, it retains too tight that any additional retention is pointless and counter-productive. Maybe after a break-in period I may reintroduce it, but for now it's out entirely.
    I'm a "bigger" guy, so the option to run it lower in the belt-line was a nice idea. Yeah. . . same issue you were describing in terms of getting that good positive grip, I have to set the "claw-side" clip to the "mid" and then slide it down all the way, my fingers would not fit otherwise, and I would have to unsafely just lobster claw it, at least the clips slid down in the mid-position, they're only scrapping my knuckles some. On the "slide-side" the clip in the upper position would collide with my Trijicon RMR unless I also slide it down as well. Only time will tell if there's enough torque on those screws to prevent it from sliding up some.
    I did wear it throughout the weekend through going on hours-long hikes and I do have to say the comfort level was on point and the fit and finish seems nice.
    Thanks for posting this and expressing some of the similar challenges I had.

      Great info. I feel like the delivery of the product was all done from “let’s highlight this thing and just sell it” which I can understand and there isn’t anything wrong with that particularly. But when you search some of the other well known holster brands, they have there own “why” videos. But I haven’t seen one for the Incog X. Maybe they didn’t have much to add from the old holster…but I’m not a conceal carry fanatic so I’m relatively unfamiliar with the industry. I can only go off what I can see and feel for myself.

    Glad to see I'm not the only one confused regarding the passive retention system, I f'd up my fingers trying to understand the twist montion you mention. I agree with your point for extra space that is not needed if you have a 43x, I have the same as yourself, but I came across a video saying probably having a longer slide handgun helps keep the grip of your body from tipping out and away from you, which made sense to me, and now the extra space for it to also fit the 48 doesnt bug me as much anymore, it keeps it flatter against me.

    • @Forward_Concepts
      @Forward_Concepts  10 місяців тому +1

      Good point. Personally I just don’t want anything that doesn’t serve a specific purpose, and as far as I can tell that purpose isn’t mentioned anywhere in the instructions, website etc. so I guess even IF it serves that function…it does not appear that was their intent.

    • @Ryan8495
      @Ryan8495 10 місяців тому

      @KineticConcepts_Group Agree 100% if we're being honest here it's got to truly be for manufacturing purposes only, if they did 48 and 43x specific SKUs that's got to be another 6+ alone, and to Safariland producing and storing those extra SKUs can't be worth it if one can cover both.

  • @Asymmetrical.athlete_

  • @1yizzie951
    @1yizzie951 18 днів тому

    Absolutely agree with the extra unnecessary material when purchasing a holster for the for the 43 and you have to get the extra length off the 48 model pistol that extra material defeats the purpose of comfort in trying to conceal a shorter length pistol

    I’ve owned this holster for about a month for my Glock 19MOS. Upgraded from a Tulster, which I liked, but wanted something that would be more secure in my pants. I have had nothing but good things to say about the holster. Yes, the belt clips cannot be adjusted a ton, but I haven’t really needed to based on my preferences.
    The passive retention doesn’t require a twist like you suggested, it’s simply a tug to unlock the gun. I haven’t had to do any extra tricks to unholster the weapon. It is as advertised as “passive” meaning it’s so the gun doesn’t fall out when moved. I also like the capability of slapping a Glock 17 in there as well. Overall I’ve enjoyed my experience with it, feels well made and the suede-like outside is nice for when I don’t have a tucked in shirt.

    I wholeheartedly agree wit your entire review and video... The bottom corners are fairly large as well, causing hotspots... they could easily be reduced and rounded... shaping the pelvic contour... the holster that checks all boxes for me, IF you are interested, is the G-Code Phenom... after going several makes and models, as we all do, I found this one to be optimal and have been wearing and using it, for EDC and EP work, even for USPSA comp for a decade now... hands down the best quality... I had the same complaint about size of holster for my Kimber Ultra (3.25in barrel). A very expensive custom kydex (we'll just say top Tier) and they sent me a holster made for the 4inch 1911. I mean, I didn't buy the smallest frame 1911 for Control, I bought it for its concealability. Why give me a bigger holster than the gun? They say hardware limitations, I say lazy design.

    • @Forward_Concepts
      @Forward_Concepts  8 місяців тому

    Wow I honestly did not know about that prd pdr whatever retention system and assumed it was another friction/tension fit retention holster like the millions of other ones on the market. Pretty big difference and I don't see any videos from Haley or Safariland explaining that. Sounds like a big miss on what was a incredibly hyped product. It sucks even more that they didn't bother making lefty versions on release day either.

    Well... I just bought one for my CR920 (43x) ... I already have a T-Rex sidecar for it.. but figured for the price I would give this one a chance just really liked the idea of the felt lining (yes I know I could've added a felt lining of some kind to the sidecar) ... that being said .. I plan on getting the CR920P so the extra LENGTH on it might be good in my situation... we're about to find out .. thx for the video though I've watched like 10 videos on this (2 specifically from Safariland and Travis Haley) with absolute NO MENTION of the active retention system at all, which seems super weird there's no mention of it at all in the videos and from what I've seen and read no mention of it on the website either .. that's super sketch IMO
