Totally love this song too, Spencer is the absolute best.. Great singer and song writer.

This song goes in my column of wisest songs ever written - mandatory listening on the journey called LIFE. It has to do with the loving yourself and selfies etc. Timeless concept in today's words. Shadow Man goes there to. You are in good company with following: Joni Mitchell Both Sides Now ,Eden Ahbez Nature Boy, Amanda McBroom The Rose, Sondheim Children Will Listen, Katie Melua Spider's Web and Beth Chapman Neilson, Color of Roses. And I listen to music all of the time. Sometimes I could only suggest to one of my children to listen to the Rose because I figured it might go over better and take hold "the one who can't be taken can never seem to give"

Loved it when I first heard it live in concert in Hudson NY. So apropos for our(and now my own) times. Every word of the lyrics carries weight. GREAT VIDEO and I love adding the organ creating a new soundworld.

After tuning in early on that you made such a smart choice to give this song a hymn-like arrangement, It was at 01:40 : "He's a banker making lots of money / All I ever made you was a song" that it occurred to me that this would be awesome in a rock and roll setting. I can just hear it - that line especially, but also the "hashtag" part and, really, the entire thing, coming at us with the energy of, say, an uptempo Paul McCartney Beatles number (like Lady Madonna) or a mid-tempo John Fogerty song. NOT a criticism, nor a dissatisfaction with it as-is. Just, maybe, some smart band out there might think Yeah, that's a good idea, and make a cover version, for the song to reach a whole new audience .
