In most scenes when someone gets possessed and someone they're close to has to fight them they're like "I don't wanna hurt you", and then there's Millie who just ruthlessly kept beating the demon out of Blitz because "he can take it", which is so based of her tbh Also I love that Blitz is finally learning how to platonically love people without making their relationship sexual, that's some character development right there
I KNEW IT. I knew it was Moxxie he was attracted to all along! Actually, considering that M&M being happy together made it into his worst memories reel…I wonder if Blitzo was dealing with a broken heart on top of worrying that two people he cared about were going to forget about him.
it reminds me of Dragonball GT where Baby tried pulling the same thing on Goku by saying how "he's hurting Vegeta" and Goku was like "bitch I FOUGHT Vegeta, this is nowhere near his breaking point" lol
I'm glad they finally explained why Millie is so good to Blitz, I always found it strange how she defended him and treated him so well, despite how he treats Moxxie. But with this revelation they show that her job, her husband, the whole life that Millie loves so much, she owes it to Blitz.
5:14 Notice that Loona's expression went from annoyed to surprised after Millie said thanks to her. Her expression clearly reads "Wait, did you just thank me?".
It’s a metaphor for people being overly dramatic for attention. Like the person who will sigh over an over until you ask them what’s wrong instead of starting the conversation
25:08 it's kinda nice to know that loona paid enough attention to him to the point that she can spot his miscalculation. she really did looked after him, not neglectful babysitter style
Loona was always very perceptive and intelligent. What annoys her is that no one else can see that. they often make assumptions about her, being lazy and cold when she's really smart and hard working, but just has difficulty with the circumstances (not much she can do as a receptionist and being treated like a pet). I think Moxxie seeing she is aware he loves musicals and helping him calm down may be the point where he finally starts to recognize he should lay off on her "SHe's LAZY and a TERRIBLE employee!" and start giving her more respect. That seems to be all she wants from the imps. to not be treated like a child..... or accused of acting like one when she's really the only sane person.
@@Redfern42 Oh she's VERY VERY book smart. SHe figured out where Octavia was using the backgrounds in her photos, she's well aware of the disguises needed for traveling to earth, she has good mastery over the Grimoire, enough that STOLAS respects her skills. It's just.... no one else in the show recognizes that. and she is socially awkward due to the abuse she suffered as a child with her old owners and the pound. I think her story is just that, people judging her based on her appearance and tone but not letting her just be herself without being judged.
Yeah, the only problem is I don't like how fast the characters are progressing in this show... I think they should have lingered on the character flaws a bit longer, but I have faith that they'll make a show worth watching in the future too.
0:12 I love how they added the detail of Moxxie’s order being so much longer and specific on the sticker of the cup from season one when they met the agents lol
I genuinely love every scene this happens it shows us how people react differently to their trauma. Blitzø's emotional breakdown was handled very well here.
I don't know how well it was handled, he bought three hundred taxidermized owls for burning, dude has terrible coping skills- oh wait you meant well written, well it definitely was well written and very in character Viz did a great job!
Blitzø thinks he made everyone's lives worse but instead made them better. He saw his own loneliness in Loona, and offered her a home and a new start in life. He saw Moxxie's blossoming potential when no one else did. He broke Millie's illusion of self-loathing and offered her chance to be the actual demon she wants and deserves to be. He gave Stolas the courage to end a loveless marriage and be his own owl-demon. And he made amends with Fizz and saved his life.
And let's be real, the circus burning down wasn't *fully* Blitz' fault anyway. Buckzo must've built that tent out of dry twigs and gasoline, bc that shit went up WAY too fast. If one accidental trip is all it takes to roast a bajillion people alive, the tripper and trippee are absolutely not the main problem.
Notice how blitz still touched his moms face while on fire, it's heart breaking how willing he is to hurt himself just to feel her comfort and presence
The way they handled Millie’s past and character is really well done, just goes to show that she doesn’t need a whole terrible and dramatic backstory to actually have her own thoughts, feelings and motivations
Well, I won't say that her life wasn't without its hardships. Yeah, she has a very positive relationship with her family, but something compelled her to leave the farm life and become a freelance assassin, something that her parents do not approve of.
It added an extra layer that Millie desperately needed, but I have to say that watching her kick such amazing ass against Blitz in the flashback makes her fight scenes in the beginning of the show even more painful 😭
I believe this is in response to the criticism about how Millie has little to no depth. She was only considered the strong fighter and Moxxie's wife, but that's it. I appreciate that they finally gave Millie the development she deserves. 😊
van we all appreciate how the team decided to RE ANIMATE all these past scenes of hurt in the show to make them look accurate to Blitz's point of view??? I think that 99% of anywhere I've seen anyone recall past evens have been just re-use of past scenes as a reference but they RE animated it all so we can see it literally through his eyes, hats off HB team!! Please know that this commitment and attention to detail doesn't go unnoticed or under appreciated ! And again, whomever is animating that fire is DAMN good at it!
Yes!! I honestly hate it when they do 3rd person views of someone's personal memories. It's like, um, why aren't these is 1st person??? It's an AMAZING job and AMAZING perception by the animators. Love them so so much
@@Hokaiyu I imagine it's usually because a studio has given the animators a deadline and they need to save time where they can. When the animators can largely work on their own timeframe, things get done.
If you slow the video down at 20:10 you can see what each flash is, it shows his dad hitting him, Fizz hurt followed by Fizz in the hospital with his dad turning him away...so his dad WAS the one who lied to both Fizz and Blitz causing the misunderstanding
Honestly Millie seems to be the only one of the group that doesn't have an emotionally scaring backstory, and she's also the most viciously violent baserker of them all.
Honestly, that checks out because it's like how many people don't have scarring backstories. I mean everyone goes through something but it's not always big or traumatic so for Millie to be the be the down to earth sane one because she never experienced trauma, is honestly nice. She's the one that keeps everyone grounded cuz everyone else is insane.
This was such a nice and refreshing episode. Not only giving Millie more screen time and backstory but depicting a genuine friendship between man and woman that isn’t one-sided romance or sexual (for the most part). Really liked the flash part scene showing Blitz going toe-to-toe with Millie and we all know how strong she is. Goes to show how capable Blitz is one his own. And showing how he built their business from the ground up, even in his worse moments we get to see he isn’t just a brazen idiot all the time, he has some wisdom and know how to get things done. Genuinely a refreshing episode
@@DemonDon432Yeah but at the same time they have shown signs of selfish love and emotions to the point that it's questionable if they really loved him or not. That's the short version of my thoughts.
The hallucination scene in the air duct tells so much about Blitz mental state: he is slipping, can't stop his fall, and all he can do is seeking for Millie's help. Brilliant metaphor!
ok, I'm really impressed with Blitz's voice actor in the end of his hallucination. It sounded really authentic and desperately emotional. Even in live action movies and tv shows I haven't heard anything this convincingly heart-wrenching.
I just realised that the scary Millies are actually all the ways she could have died in season 1 : the one with glass in her eyes is from the murder family in ep 1, the burned one is from the fire in ep 2, the drowned one is from the battle with the fish in ep 3, the one with angelic arrows throught her body is from the angelic crossbow in ep 4, the one missing her leg is from the bear trap in ep 5, and the one with the broken bones must be from the battle with the D.H.O.R.K.S. in ep 6. Edit : apparently the last Millie is how she could have been crushed by the wall's debris after being punched by the old guy at the beginning of the episode.
The Millie from Spring Broken actually isn't drowned. She looks like she had been digested by the fish she jumped inside to save Moxxie. Semantics aside, this scene was fucking dark man.
What I love about the interaction with Millie and the Infestor Demon is the demon is from the Envy ring, so it's using a perverted form of envy to make its victims regret what they don't have or no longer have, such as Blitz's mother dying. But, the demon doesn't affect Millie because she has nothing to be envious of. She is working the job of her dreams with her best friend as her boss, she's married to the love of her life, and she has achieved more than she ever thought possible for a poor Imp from Wrath. That's why nothing the demon says or could say could ever affect her.
>The Infestor Demon is from the Envy ring Wait, how do you know that? I feel like I'm missing out on a source of lore that is being referenced here and there.
@@deuceydee3506 It's background lore from the show. Each ring has a "Theme" that defines its style. The theme of Envy is water/ocean. The Infestor Demon has a very aquatic design and was strongest in the water, so it's almost certainly from Envy. Fun fact as well, Gliz and Glam from the Mammon episode are also from the Envy ring, as they also have very aquatic designs.
12:40 Brandon Roger’s voice acting is absolutely insane every time blitz has a metal breakdown he delivers every time, I can literally feel the anxiety coming from him an it makes my skin crawl.
Dude the scene where blitz saw his mom and watched her slowly burn for a SECOND time broke my heart into tiny pieces. Brandon did a FABULOUS job voice acting this episode.
17:49 I love this shot. Blitzo needed this talk so much, Millie was able to calm him enough and approach him like a genuine concerned (and very patient) friend. Also, Blitzo didn’t try to difuse the situation with a sex joke, this is huge.
That's a first, even for him. But that shows how much he'll evolve bit by bit, of course. But things are about to worse. We all know what's coming either way. But hey, let's see how they'll do against Hells adversaries.
I'm gonna mention it cause no one did... Loona wrapping Moxxie in a blanket, giving him ice cream and putting on a musical to help cheer him up was adorable.
That breakdown Blitz had was actually heartbreaking. Especially that scene with his mom.. god.. Also, those fluid animation with the possessed stuff was actually incredible. Another great ep!!
@@bellerain381 sounds like something moxxie will say if he ever sees his mom again if she is alive and the Smurf with napoleon syndrome didn’t kill her
100%. The animation this episode was sooooo smooth! Hell, even the opening where they pan the building was nice, so getting to see that fight-- chef's kiss.
"IT WAS NOT A BREAKUP! You need a relationship for one of those, and we never had that. And we never will." Poor Blitzo. He so badly wanted Stolas but couldn't admit it.
@@alexcontrerasnegativened7777... It was sex for services. Originally Blitz would sleep with the owl in exchange for the magic book, until the owl felt guilty about holding a magic item over Blitz's head so his business could stay a float... It was a favours for favourite situation. How does everyone miss that ?
I missed watching this when it first came out, usually watch day 01 or 02... I didn't think it would be a good episode, but holy crap we FINALLY get our Millie focused episode and it was fantastic. May just be my favorite episode to date! It's not as flashy, doesn't have huge combat scenes, but it has just that perfect level of everything mixed to make a great episode. Just enough comedy, just enough heartache, and just enough fighting. It was genuinely a bit spooky as well, and the Scooby doo References perfection. Beyond just the perfection, we start to see all the emotional trauma not just with Blitz but everybody starting to have hints it's being resolved. Luna and Millie were done so perfectly, and the fact Millie was the one that initiated all this finally is giving my girl debt and character development she needed.
Blitzø "admitting that he wanted the relationship is such a big step. Talking about his insecurities with Millie - even bigger. I almost can't recognise him.
rejection is a terrifying possibility. but what's more terrifying is what happened to him in the past. the fire at the Circus scarred him more than the few white blotches of skin he has, he's lonely and wanting to have someone, but afraid of something bad happening to that person at the same time. Blitz is able to vocalize his feelings because they are brimming over the top, this also happened in Apology Tour for but a moment when talking to Stolas at the start.
probably only realised he wanted that when stolas broke up with him, especially since he's ALWAYS the one who ends it, but this time HE was on the recieving end and he was forced to face, ever so slowly, WHY it hurts
21:26 I love how in this scene he copies Millie’s moves from when they met meaning that their fight had a bigger impression on Blitz because he still remembers her moves
Honestly, this episode really builds up millie's backstory and her character to much higher pay than ever before! It’s great to see! As for blitzo, he's becoming to terms with what happened and wants to become better in the future. I hope to see more development in the future
That made it seem like she could have done so much more on her own, except she couldn't travel topside. And she went oddly softer. Total hardass to bubblegum sweetheart. But now I don't know how long they've all been together. From the time they met to the pilot. Ms. Mayberry was their first client, not counting the pilot. I have more questions than I did before.
@@christianteen2008 It could be she "went soft" because Blitz was there to act as a kind of lightning rod or booster... you know.. cause he's a... Helluva Boss?
It would be interesting to find out what happened in detail during that day. How did her mom get stuck in the tent? Was it just the fire. Was she feeling sick? Did no one else hear her cry? And where the hell was Buckzo during the fire? How come he did save her either?
@hannahvincent2338 In the bar, Blitzø tells Millie that Moxxie was impressed by her earlier when she stole their hit. Blitzø was impressed by her too, but Moxxie was the reason why Blitzø took an extra special interest in seeking Millie out and wanted to hire her
That would have required Moxxie to feel like an enemy and homeboy saw her slay and immediately went "I'm gonna malewife so hard for this girlboss" Gomez Addams style, she never had a chance.
Literally how I recruited Karlach in BG3. Came there to kill her; she's like "you got the wrong guy, numbnuts, but we can kill someone else instead if it makes you feel better" Then she sets the whole building on fire with me in it then apologizes. And I'm like "Shit, bitch; I known you for 5 minutes and already I feel like I'd take a bullet for you .... um. . Anyways! MAYBECOMEWITHMETOCOMMITWARCRIMESONANENTIREUNSUSPECTINGARMYTOSAVESOMEECO-TERRORISTSANDTHENMAYBEGETSOMEPORKCHOPSFORDINNER?"
I like this episode so much because it's palate-cleansing, in the way that we get a break from Blitzø being and avoidant ass and we we get an insight into his perspective fully, and (¡¡Finally!!) see his ACTUAL feelings about the not-breakup. It feels like a character study for him mostly, and the fact that he is actually CHANGING for good makes It so much more impactful. As always, getting Millie content is amazing too, I looooved getting to know her BACKSTORY, and Her dynamic with Blitzø makes me Happy.
12:00 Took me a minute to realize that these Millies are from the past episodes if she died! Almost like the alternate Mabel and Dipper page from the Book of Bill! Millie with bottle shards in her eye - Murder Family Millie burned alive - Loo Loo Land Millie disfigured possibly digested from the monster fish - Spring Broken Millie with golden arrows (possibly angelic) - CHERUB Millie gripping her arm - Harvest Moon Festival
the golden arrows are most likely from the cherubs, yes, but more likely to be when they battled them in Full Moon! that’s when they had actual weaponry, after all
Two things to say: 1. You forget how much of a ringer Milly is 2. Love how Luna treates Mox like a little kid in the end. Gives him a bowl of icecream and tv tv watch and hes so happy.
This episode might contain Brandon's _best_ acting to date. His breakdown after the hallucinations is absolutely heartbreaking, and the way he _begs_ Rolando to stop his torment is hard to watch. Kudos to Brandon 👏👏
brandon rogers' acting is always good, theatre class, BRYCE, OMG BLAME THE HERO, SAM AND STUFF, THE SALARY MAN DUDE IMFMGMGM HE IS SO GOOD IM.GONNANC3U
It's amazing how much awesome they can pack into one episode. So many comments calling out various big or small details and they are ALL correct and somehow this episode contains all of it. This is some masterclass right here. This is what you point at and say "there's the bar"
This Episode was great - Good Fight Scenes - Blitz and Millie interactions - Ghost Bad Guy was cool - Blitz’s Nightmare Sequence was kinda chilling Overall: I Really Liked It
i wouldnt say it was great but rather good and the fight scenes in my opinion could be better and there were some scenes that just straight up were bad/mid but the entire thing was good
This episode was great Millie and blitz have great chemistry together and I thought it was sweet Millie said blitz isn’t just her boss, but her best friend, also credits song was hilarious
I love the detail at 15:13: Blitzo could've easily dodged the knife, considering he was Millie's equal and that he could've easily foreseen that Millie had a trick up her sleeve, but he chose to stand his ground, proving that he really wanted her in his team. He didn't trust her per se, and he wasn't scared, but chose to risk and that risk won Millie over.
I wonder also though if part of it could of been his self hate showing too. When you figure you have nothing to live for, might as well take a chance and stand your ground when your life is in danger. I think it could be a little of both.
I figured it could also have been from his clown experience. I think Clowns in Hell would for sure do knife throwing stunts, so he’d be good at judging where it was going to go.
@@mr.nerd3.142 That's actually a good point, and knowing how his father was, I wouldn't of been surprised if he forced Blitz to do those knife throwing things like how Mammon would make Fizz do them.
20:09 I really love how they reanimated moments from previous episodes to be from Blitz's first-person perspective. They could've just played clips from the episodes, but they went the extra mile, and I appreciate that.
This episode really made me feel like someone had recently watched Full Metal Alchemist, because damn if this episode isn't channeling that show's energy a little bit. What I mean is that particular show had a great ability to take me from the heights of roaring laughter to the depths of despair literally back and forth seamlessly. This episode accomplished this in spades. The writers should be commended for their brilliance!
How is nobody in the top comments talking about the animation improvement?? The frames are divine, I can see such a great development over time, whoever is working on some of these scenes is doing amazing!
As a Scooby Doo fan, I adored the homage to the classic musical chase sequence in this seedy hotel. As a Millie fan, having context for how she and Blitz met and the subsequent relationship they've developed over time brought tears to my eyes -- and having her be strong enough to know that she's worth more than what she was raised to be thanks to Blitz always uplifting her even when another demon attempted to sabotage everything is fantastic. This episode was 100% worth the wait for me!
Thank you, I was reading all the comments (though I´m very late seeing this) to see if someone else mentioned the Scooby Doo Musical Chase! That was fantastic!
I love how loona actually cares enough for moxie to see when he is losing his sanity and gives him ice cream and tv to keep his mind off all the paperwork before he burnt it all
THE FACT HE GOT VULNERABLE WHILE WEARING A COSTUME AND NOT AS HIS REAL SELF SAYS SO MUCH. Also, I like how they didn't neglect the Stolitz situation but still managed to return to their old way of episodes; nice.
12:34 Everyone was talking about Stolas in the episode "Apology Tour" and how sad it was to see him broken, and yes, it is absolutely heartbreaking, but so is poor Blitzø. So much trauma. 😭
I love that what Loona says at the end basically showcases that she’s most definitely capable of fixing the companies money issues but just chooses not to 🙂↕️
Im so sad how Blizø cried and was saying sorry to his mom when he saw her and how his eyes lit up when Millie handed Blizø that red skull… that was actually sweet. ♥️
Seeing more backstory into Millie's life and her relationship with Blitzø was such a good part in this episode. It's so interesting to see what her appearance looked like back when Blitzø met her, seeing how she looks a lot more like her sister than how she does now. It was also amazing how she handled all the insults thrown at her and how badly she beat him, makes you realize how strong they really were from back then and even now. Loved this episode, it was no doubt beyond worth the wait.
GOD, the little moment where Millie took Blitz' hand, they scooted closer and he rested his head on her shoulder... that was so beautiful to behold. Feels like such a big step for Blitz... allowing himself to lean on somebody else, be vulnerable, accept comfort... accept love. This epsiode was really painful for him, but I'm so happy he seems to finally be moving in the right direction. And I adore the development of his and Millie's relationship. Beautiful platonic chemistry! He really does need a friend who's "just" a friend.
The client saying she was predicted to go somewhere bad on Wednesday and thinking it was just Baltimore not hell is a nice Easter egg with the VA for Rolando the demon being John Waters, who is from Baltimore, and wrote and directed Hairspray, which is based in Baltimore. I have no clue how they managed to get him to voice act a major character in this episode.
I wonder the same thing all the time! Like… literally how the HELL did they get a voice actor from Invader Zim and then get FREAKING KE$HA?!?!! 😀🙀😂 Seriously… the people behind this show are so fricking amazing… 🥹 (Also, I know I could totally look the voice actor information up, but I didn’t do that yet so I’m just appreciating the magic of HB rn 🤩🥹)
I know he's met Brandon Rogers, who told Waters that his films were a big inspiration for him. To which Waters replied with something along the lines of "im so sorry." 😂
4:50 Its really interesting how Luna is very triggered by authority figures (we've seen that she has identified both Millie and Moxie as the old dog-lady who ran that pound/orphanage for Hellhounds). However, when Millie is gentle towards her, Luna's hard shell cracks. It seems like what Luna needs is for people around her to be gentle to her after all she's gone through. Also, how its hinted that Luna actually does her job and that in reality she's just really burnt out from Blitz's crazy demands.
@@firefangredmoon5961 they're saying that the old lady at the pound was an authority figure, and she now has negative associations with authority figures, Millie and Moxxie are authority figures in Loona's eyes, and so she sees them negatively
I love how everyone is talking about blitz background story and stuff while I'm noticing how much millie has improved with taking hits like at first she couldn't really do that now like at her
15:37 I love how they show in the flashback that Moxxie was immediately in to Millie (Love at first sight). And also showing that Luna had an emo or possibly a scene phases is so realistic for her character (She has a pink streak in her hair and a raccoon streak, almost like VivziePop and like they wore in the 2000s), i can so see it.
I really like the little part between Millie and loona. Millie is an older sibling she knows how to take care of little sisters. She’s also the only one who treats loona like a competent adult which makes loona respect her. Blitzø infantilizes her and moxxie things she’s lazy and irresponsible but Millie respects her as an equal and trusts her with responsibility. Loona is difficult but Millie is emotionally mature enough to take a breath and be sincere with her, she doesn’t berate her or write her off she instead shows her that she believes in her to be more than a snotty child and trusts her to take care of the most important person in her life. This episode did exactly what I wanted them to do with Millie’s character. She is capable, smart, and has more emotional intelligence than any of the other characters. She had the most stable childhood with loving parents and siblings and while she has her own insecurities from being part of an oppressed class she has a stronger sense of self than any of the rest of the cast. This makes her the perfect character for the others to rely on as they grow since she’s kind, loyal, honest, and very perceptive.
@@purplelily7764 Blitz doesnt infantilizes her? More like Blitz spoils her because he doesn't like getting mad at her but he is overprotective sometimes.
This episode was actually the first time Millie called Loona by her name. Usually Millie refers to her as their hellhound and doesn't really interact with her like she's a competent member of the team. I also liked the interaction between them, but because this is one of the only times when Millie's bigotry doesn't get in the way of speaking to her like she's a person.
Excellent episode. The animation was gorgeous, of course, but I really love the cutting down on splitting episodes into two weaker plots. The writing is much stronger when it's more focused like this. John Waters did amazing, no surprise, and Millie backstory and Blitzø growth is fantastic! I'd love more Millie and Loona interactions. I don't see people mentioning it, but I think this is the first time Millie addresses Loona by name. I'd love to see that relationship get more attention. Best episode in a while! Great work, team!
I can only imagine if Millie saw the horrible shit Blitzø had been through, seeing her best friend fucking tailspin into depressive self-hate bordering on suicide because of all of that.
Didn't expect to get more of Millie's backstory, but I am so happy we did! Even with her best friend being the reason they're going to be dead broke, she realizes its a cry for help and shows him why she's still around working for him. beautiful, wacky, heart wrenching, and everything else you would want in an episode.
Seeing Millie get some well deserved character development and also a backstory is so lovely. Plus, I was meant to be handing out candy but also started crying when Blitzø had to see what happened to his mom again. I’m glad Blitzø seems to be on the right path to getting better
One thing I LOVE about this episode is how Rolando uses EVERYTHING that Millie believes about herself to create an insult that we know would absolutely destroy her self confidence given everything we now know about her character. He even finishes his sentence off with “hic”, further implanting the idea that everything he says is really what Blitzø thinks of her (Blitzø called her a hic earlier, so we can see how Rolando uses that to make Millie believe that it’s really BLITZØ talking). With all we know, Millie should have been affected by this. But she wasn’t. She stood strong and didn’t let any of it get to her head like she would have years ago, like during that first bar fight Blitzø had with her, the one where he easily managed to get inside her head with words. The similarities between these two scenes make it obvious that they are parallels of each other. I love how they use these scenes to show us Millie’s development as a character, how self conscious she was and how hopeless she felt, and how confident and hopeful she is now thanks to Blitzø. I really hope more people picked up on this, because it’s just too good to miss.
Oh I just noticed a neat detail! During my first watch I saw a sign for "Succ Inc" and then I thought "Ohh I finally get it!" because at first I thought "inc" was for "incorporated" but then I realized it also works for "incubus" And as for what I picked up on just now, the sign says that Succ Inc is on floors 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, and 9, with a little piece of paper saying "IMP floor 7" taped on it And it hit me that this building is primarily used by succubus and incubus because they're the ones who usually get missions traveling to Earth
There is SO much to unpack here. The dead Millies from alternate timelines where she died. Blitzø being forced to watch all of his worst traumatizing memories play in front of him. His mom burning alive in front of him with the same loving smile from the photo we've seen of her. Millie getting more screentime away from Moxxie, and getting insight into her and Blitzø's relationship. Flashback Millie ignites my inner lesbian. Every performance Brandon does of emotional/traumatized Blitzø blows me away with how raw it is compared to how bonkers insane he and Blitzø usually are. The Blitzø redemption arc just keeps getting better
I love that the main focus was finally ON the A Plot and the B plot only got referred to at the end. This is probably the best episode thus far Edit: *best episode as in one i've enjoyed most damn relax
I hope they do not rush the reconciliation/courtship of Stolas & Blitzo. They need to get to actually know each other truly. They're not going to just magically end up married immediately. I want a real reconnection arc with the duo. Conservations, dates, adventures together, secrets shared and revealed, etc. And yes, battles together where both of them have their backs against the wall and neither of them individually can win.
From the Season 2 Trailer, there's a shot of Stolas clinging to Blitz who's holding a sword up at what could be Andreaphus (or however you spell his name). My guess is that "Mastermind" will feature Stolas finalizing his divorce with Stella, with Andreaphus coming up with some sort of plot to twist things in his and Stella's favor, and that Blitz will rescue Stolas - but things won't end with them back together, although it does get things started.
@@Kelaiah01 I'm kinda hoping that's a misdirect and it's actually just a scene from a dream that shows that Stolas is worried about the divorce and still wants Blitzo to be there for him. Maybe it leading him to take the first step towards them getting back together via a phonecall or text in the last second/after credits of the season finally, so that season 3 will be them taking their time and courting for real.
11:20 I hated but also loved this scene. All the emotion was incredible. From Biltzø asking Millie to help him from him sliding down from the "blood" (I think), to him freaking out about all the different Millies, to him getting scared and crying seeing his Mom die again. The emotion and effort Brandon put in with Blitzø saying, "NO! NO, NO, NO MOM I'M SORRY! MOM PLEASE I'M SORRY!". For it to all be an anxiety attack was amazing.
I loved that bethany was voiced by the same person that voices charlie in hazbin hotel. That song at the end was just perfect i love her voice sooooo much and i recognized it in a second when she started singing
Finally seeing more of Millie’s unfiltered real self, and shots from her past, something I’ve been waiting for! Plus really LOVED seeing her in some new looks; the long hair/ponytail and red leather jacket❤️🖤
I love how much Helluva Boss evolved, developing the main cast into characters we can love personally even more and more. This episode seriously made me tear up the recent episodes have really been like that.
The way Blitzo admits so much to everything he's feeling in this episode was incredible like All this over a breakup? "It wasnt a breakup. For a breakup you need a relationship, and we never had that. And never will..." The bird got to you that much? "Yup" Are you still gonna try to be our third? "No. Not anymore" You're my best friend. "I never had a friend i didn't want to fuck.." "So you dont hate me?" "I ruin everything! I make people's lives worse!!" All of this coming from blitz was just WOW Blitz of all people finally beong able to express himself and talk about his struggles and about what he truly feels? That's on some HUGE character development, plus it also shows just how close he is to millie and how much he trusts her I'm so glad we finally got to know more about millie and honestly this whole episode was such a slap in the face of everyone who said she was such a one-faced character with no personality because YES. THAT'S THE POINT. Shes trying her best to be posistive towards everything and everyone especially blitz because 1. She doenst need a super traumatic backstory to have a compelling dynamic with the other characters much less to have her own thoughts and opinions 2. She owes what to her is an amazing life with good friends, a great job, and an amazing husband TO BLITZ because HE broight her to all of this. So of course she's gonna be understanding of him and as supportive as she can be! 3. Just because she has a simple mindset of "wholesome murderer" (compared to the others at least) doesn't mean she's not an interesting character who has opinions and dynamics on the world and the people she lives with And also, the horror take they took for this episode while still being able to maintain the jokey side to the show was AMAZING It was the first time i felt that the show truly managed to balance its darker side with its humour and i really hope it keeps going like this ('cause let's be honest, when they tried this with crimson's episode and the house full of dild0's it just... Didnt work.)
Speak for yourself, maybe it was just because it hit close to home but I loved that episode with Crimson. Although this one was also amazing, like Blitz not coming on to Millie was big. Not because of the lack of horny, but because Blitz decided to be vulnerable, even after Millie gave him an out with her joke.
Maybe I'm just too emotional, but watching the back and forth between Blitz and Millie during the big fight in Truth Seekers after seeing their origin is too wholesome 🔫🚰❤
I gotta admit... Blitzø seeing his mom burn away in front of him while crying in despair was totally heart wrenching

I KNEW IT. I knew it was Moxxie he was attracted to all along!
Actually, considering that M&M being happy together made it into his worst memories reel…I wonder if Blitzo was dealing with a broken heart on top of worrying that two people he cared about were going to forget about him.
@RabbidTribble LOL that isn't some hidden secret, he's very obvious about it

And putting on a musical instead of just the normal show.
Implies she has a skill for mathematics, given how quickly and just by glancing she caught the error! Loona, a CPA?!

I don't know how well it was handled, he bought three hundred taxidermized owls for burning, dude has terrible coping skills- oh wait you meant well written, well it definitely was well written and very in character Viz did a great job!
This only boosted my theory that Blitz has PTSD
Blitzø thinks he made everyone's lives worse but instead made them better. He saw his own loneliness in Loona, and offered her a home and a new start in life. He saw Moxxie's blossoming potential when no one else did. He broke Millie's illusion of self-loathing and offered her chance to be the actual demon she wants and deserves to be. He gave Stolas the courage to end a loveless marriage and be his own owl-demon. And he made amends with Fizz and saved his life.
Well said!
In order to build something sometimes you must break it first
And let's be real, the circus burning down wasn't *fully* Blitz' fault anyway. Buckzo must've built that tent out of dry twigs and gasoline, bc that shit went up WAY too fast. If one accidental trip is all it takes to roast a bajillion people alive, the tripper and trippee are absolutely not the main problem.

It added an extra layer that Millie desperately needed, but I have to say that watching her kick such amazing ass against Blitz in the flashback makes her fight scenes in the beginning of the show even more painful 😭

ok, I'm really impressed with Blitz's voice actor in the end of his hallucination.
The 6th Millie is supposed to be a homage to fizz. Her eyes and broken bones are meant to mirror that moment during the circus fire.
reminds me of the book of bill where it shows all the ways the pines twins could've died in each episode but only survived in one dimension
I was literally just about to say something about this too! I’m so glad other people noticed this as well!!!
So true
Yep, his words are literally meaningless. She's happy
>The Infestor Demon is from the Envy ring

@@deuceydee3506 It's background lore from the show. Each ring has a "Theme" that defines its style. The theme of Envy is water/ocean. The Infestor Demon has a very aquatic design and was strongest in the water, so it's almost certainly from Envy.

The "cherry on top" perfect detail of character
I figured it could also have been from his clown experience. I think Clowns in Hell would for sure do knife throwing stunts, so he’d be good at judging where it was going to go.
@@mr.nerd3.142 That's actually a good point, and knowing how his father was, I wouldn't of been surprised if he forced Blitz to do those knife throwing things like how Mammon would make Fizz do them.
@ Yeah, and you just KNOW that it would’ve been Blitz as the target every time.
EXACTLY!
IT SLAPS
They really took their time on the last three episodes from the sound of it. It'll be interesting to see how clean the animation is in the next two.
Agree, watching the Season 1 and then Season 2 latest episodes.. its night and day.
Clearly they used the 3 months as productively as possible
As a Scooby Doo fan, I adored the homage to the classic musical chase sequence in this seedy hotel. As a Millie fan, having context for how she and Blitz met and the subsequent relationship they've developed over time brought tears to my eyes -- and having her be strong enough to know that she's worth more than what she was raised to be thanks to Blitz always uplifting her even when another demon attempted to sabotage everything is fantastic. This episode was 100% worth the wait for me!
These were definitely my favorite highlights from the episode as well. SO worth the wait!!! ❤
Glad I'm not the only one who saw that 😊

and the fact she but the musical episode on too. she knows him
I guess she's already used to it with Blitzø at home.
And she’s willing to do Millie a solid. I’m pretty sure out of the IMP trio, Loona tolerates her the most (at least a close second to Blitzo)
I love the client's design and her voice is so cute for her. The poofy fro and longs nails gives "I spill the tea sis" vibes

Im so sad how Blizø cried and was saying sorry to his mom when he saw her and how his eyes lit up when Millie handed Blizø that red skull… that was actually sweet. ♥️
Didn't think Blitz could get SCARY but possessed Blitz is downright CREEPY. Also seeing Millie and Blitz open up more was nice.

It’s a surprise for sure, but a welcome one

Yep, that’s creepy
Seeing more backstory into Millie's life and her relationship with Blitzø was such a good part in this episode. It's so interesting to see what her appearance looked like back when Blitzø met her, seeing how she looks a lot more like her sister than how she does now. It was also amazing how she handled all the insults thrown at her and how badly she beat him, makes you realize how strong they really were from back then and even now.
Loved this episode, it was no doubt beyond worth the wait.
Part 2: Heluva Boss

GOD, the little moment where Millie took Blitz' hand, they scooted closer and he rested his head on her shoulder... that was so beautiful to behold. Feels like such a big step for Blitz... allowing himself to lean on somebody else, be vulnerable, accept comfort... accept love. This epsiode was really painful for him, but I'm so happy he seems to finally be moving in the right direction.
And I adore the development of his and Millie's relationship. Beautiful platonic chemistry! He really does need a friend who's "just" a friend.
A big first step! I'm sure our dear Blitz will finally healed his past wounds, and be back as better as has never been! :D

Seriously… the people behind this show are so fricking amazing… 🥹
(Also, I know I could totally look the voice actor information up, but I didn’t do that yet so I’m just appreciating the magic of HB rn 🤩🥹)
I'm still shocked they managed to pull Norman Reedus for an episode. Sucks he could only do the one, but damn he has such a smooth voice.
I know he's met Brandon Rogers, who told Waters that his films were a big inspiration for him. To which Waters replied with something along the lines of "im so sorry." 😂
Same way they got Norman reedus in season 1s appearance of striker
@@manband20I believe they said it was because of Covid that he was able to do the show
4:50 Its really interesting how Luna is very triggered by authority figures (we've seen that she has identified both Millie and Moxie as the old dog-lady who ran that pound/orphanage for Hellhounds). However, when Millie is gentle towards her, Luna's hard shell cracks. It seems like what Luna needs is for people around her to be gentle to her after all she's gone through.
Also, how its hinted that Luna actually does her job and that in reality she's just really burnt out from Blitz's crazy demands.
Oh yeah tbh it’s surprisingly consistent how she’s always there when needed. She really does have their backs
Wait when did she identify millie and moxie as the old dog lady at the pound?
@@firefangredmoon5961 they're saying that the old lady at the pound was an authority figure, and she now has negative associations with authority figures, Millie and Moxxie are authority figures in Loona's eyes, and so she sees them negatively

She was definitely in her scene phase, apparently I just found out about this style
That was a 2000s thing?

I entirely agree. I adore what they did with her this episode.
@@purplelily7764 Blitz doesnt infantilizes her? More like Blitz spoils her because he doesn't like getting mad at her but he is overprotective sometimes.

@ChipSorinstein boo!
I prefer the animation style of earlier episodes. It's lost it's smooth flow and crisp forms.

Didn't expect to get more of Millie's backstory, but I am so happy we did! Even with her best friend being the reason they're going to be dead broke, she realizes its a cry for help and shows him why she's still around working for him. beautiful, wacky, heart wrenching, and everything else you would want in an episode.
Millie is the best friend we all would like to have ^^
Seeing Millie get some well deserved character development and also a backstory is so lovely. Plus, I was meant to be handing out candy but also started crying when Blitzø had to see what happened to his mom again. I’m glad Blitzø seems to be on the right path to getting better
Well, if you got to keep the candy….?
Got any leftover candy for meeee 🥹❔
During my first watch I saw a sign for "Succ Inc" and then I thought "Ohh I finally get it!" because at first I thought "inc" was for "incorporated" but then I realized it also works for "incubus"
And as for what I picked up on just now, the sign says that Succ Inc is on floors 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, and 9, with a little piece of paper saying "IMP floor 7" taped on it
And it hit me that this building is primarily used by succubus and incubus because they're the ones who usually get missions traveling to Earth
timestamp?
Glad to see Millie is being the one who is still willing to put up with Blitz after what happened. Her loyalty to her loved ones are indeed admirable!

@@Kelaiah01 it'd be cool to see Stolas and Blitzo fight back-to-back.

Yeah, I really love the depth of the characters and their traits. I think it's what makes them stand out-
The way Blitzo admits so much to everything he's feeling in this episode was incredible like
All this over a breakup? "It wasnt a breakup. For a breakup you need a relationship, and we never had that. And never will..."
The bird got to you that much? "Yup"
Are you still gonna try to be our third? "No. Not anymore"
You're my best friend. "I never had a friend i didn't want to fuck.."
"So you dont hate me?"
"I ruin everything! I make people's lives worse!!"
All of this coming from blitz was just WOW
Blitz of all people finally beong able to express himself and talk about his struggles and about what he truly feels?
That's on some HUGE character development, plus it also shows just how close he is to millie and how much he trusts her
I'm so glad we finally got to know more about millie and honestly this whole episode was such a slap in the face of everyone who said she was such a one-faced character with no personality because YES. THAT'S THE POINT.
Shes trying her best to be posistive towards everything and everyone especially blitz because
1. She doenst need a super traumatic backstory to have a compelling dynamic with the other characters much less to have her own thoughts and opinions
2. She owes what to her is an amazing life with good friends, a great job, and an amazing husband TO BLITZ because HE broight her to all of this. So of course she's gonna be understanding of him and as supportive as she can be!
3. Just because she has a simple mindset of "wholesome murderer" (compared to the others at least) doesn't mean she's not an interesting character who has opinions and dynamics on the world and the people she lives with
And also, the horror take they took for this episode while still being able to maintain the jokey side to the show was AMAZING
It was the first time i felt that the show truly managed to balance its darker side with its humour and i really hope it keeps going like this ('cause let's be honest, when they tried this with crimson's episode and the house full of dild0's it just... Didnt work.)
