  • Hey all! Just a quick video comparing the L35AF & MJU ii. Long story short, The L35AF is sharper, but the half press on the shutter isn't defined enough. If it was, I would probably keep this and use it a lot! Hope y'all enjoyed the video!

    So which camera or film do you prefer? And which photo was your favorite? (Or did you not like any and all of them were horrible.... LOL) Comment down below =) I really liked the L35AF...

    Nice review. I own both cameras. I believe the MJU lens is better. Now, is it worth the price tag? I'd say value wise the Nikon is great and will do the job just fine. You should've used the same film stock for a proper comparison.

      Yea it was my first time comparing cameras and I thought it would be nice to see how different film looked side by side.

    I've also worked with both, it's really a matter of what you want your camera to be best at. The Nikon has great image quality and just ok build quality (although I will say these things are not super reliable and a trip to the repair shop is a bit of an inevitably), and the Olympus has great build quality and just ok image quality. Personally I use point and shoots as an everyday carry type camera so the build quality aspect is super important and I prefer the Olympus for that reason. Both are great cameras though, just wish the Nikon was sturdier and less issue-prone.

      I would say they are both sturdy enough for everyday use. But I guess everyone‘s day is different. 🤷

    The Nikon is definitely sharper but for the photos it's difficult to say which ones I like more. Some are better with a film stock, some are better with the other film even if they're slightly less sharp, in my opinion.

      The Olympus mju is sharper by miles. Exhibit A: 2:29 you can see individual holes of the red bench behind the guy's back in the Mju, whereas in the Nikon it's a muddy mess. Exhibit B: 2:09 the yellow strip on the left shows clear outlines of every single brick in the Mju whereas in the Nikon it's more like a solid yellow color strip.

    Well done Chuck. The Nikon looks way sharper although both are good cameras. Would like to see you shoot more with the Nikon maybe a full review on it would be cool. I liked the bridge photos on minute 3 (I think). Keep it up!

    Great comparison and thanks for introducing us to a lesser known point and shoot! The Nikon is sharper, but the Olympus seems to be a bit more brighter/overexposed. It might also because of the difference in film stocks. In any case, great work! I was in HK visiting family a couple of years ago, but that was before I got into film. Would love to visit again. It's definitely a photographer's playground

    • @81springbrook96
      @81springbrook96  4 роки тому +2

      I guess there's a time for manual shooting. I kind of want something simple to ease my way back to film, don't really want to fuss with settings. But maybe in a few weeks, I'll start to look at more manual setups actually, because I find myself slowing down and taking my time for each shot. And kind of tired missing focus some of the times.

    The L35AF has a lens which is shared by several of Nikon's more expensive cameras and is solidly built. The quality of the Oly is basically that of a disposable camera plus autofocus, barely qualifies as a snapshot camera. No comparison at all, notwithstanding the ridiculous hype attaches to the Oly.
