That was a fun watch, but all over the place. Tuning is a double edge sword, seems like the only one of the three; would be the RS3. It seemed to be dialed in and delivered consistent results. The 0-100 runs from the 340i is off the charts, the 700+ HP from the Merc shines on the roll and the RS3 just does it all well consistently. Still a hoot to watch these German monsters go.

The trans overheated because 650 is the limit. There are literally 800whp stock motors cars with built trans that go back to back runs with zero issues. RS3’s are awesome as you know, but are more expensive to build. The mods on the 340 are less than stage 2 on the RS3.

In both of the rolling races to be fair the bmw got shat on quite hard. Even the smaller engine inline 5 audi laughed at it. Look at 6:22 the merc and the 2.5 litre audi are gone before the bmw even close to the finish line.

This is exactly why any tuner worth a damn will tell you to improve cooling before modifying . My Q50s is tuned to 400 AWHP on Ecutek and no one would even touch it until I upgraded the Heat exchanger .
The tuner I went with wouldn’t even tune it unless I had a newer than 2018 because of the transmission issues with the early models.
I’m not saying any of these tuners are bad by any means nor do I know any of the mods for the cars in this video but many of the newer engines are smaller displacement with turbo and are already near the limits from factory.
They are nowhere near limits when it comes to power output from factory. Cooling on the other hand, 100% agree with you.

Yo the 340 cooling systems are very different from a q50 made by a luxury brand. After upgrading the cooling in the q50 it is still just a little better than the stock in the 340
You are right he should replace the heat exchanger but the 340 have a water to air intercooler that is very effective so in day to day use he probably wouldn't need it. Only when racing back to back like that or going on the track would he see real benefits.

@@roboticvenom1935 The BMW was beating them both until it became heat soaked after a few races, which indicates insufficient cooling. It needs a bigger intercooler. RS3 is a beast, as well. But the 340i and M340i have been pretty reliable by German car standards. Also keep in mind this is the regular 340i that doesn't have all the updates that went into the B58TU, so it does require a lot more mods for this power. But the B58TU in the M340i is a tune away from serious power.

I have a GLA45 and after a tune the launch control never works as well as stock. Stock, the LC had some delayed reaction , but qas powerful and decent. After tuned, launch good one every 4-5 launch, most of the time just cut the power. Hopefully a custom tune or protune would fix the issue. Now roll race is a complete different animal for a 4cil🔥
Tuned car problems... My FWD with over 100 hp more then stock is slower than it was originally when using LC... It just lights up the tires, while stock it would manage the power way better and get consistent times.
Cool races. I just realized the RS3 is running 93 octane. Lo. It’s basically like a handicap. Run it again with the Unitronic stage 2 ethanol tune or DS1 and it will be a completely different set of races.
I own an ims1000 RS3. E85 is the way. 93 oct for road trips only.

The BMW B58 engine and the 8 speed ZF box is match made in heaven. I drive a lighter 460hp RWD E92 N54 with the 7 speed DCT, and a quaife LSD but I wouldnt stand a chance here.
If you had a 62mm turbo like the b58 does stock you would. I have an e82 135 n55 and an f30 n55 both ewg. Put you a big 60 on that n54 with a fuel system upgrade. You’ll run 9s too. Very rare you see a bigger than stock turbo b58 car on the road, unless it’s a Supra. Most are just stage 2 fbo. B58 is a good engine, (only) because of the block. Late ass post. Lol

I’m impressed with the RS3 it really held its own.
Check the MAF for resistor. Take the resistor out of the MAF sensor in the BMW. I just figured my Audi out today, and it is tuned. Aftermarket MAF came with stupid resistor, and it's not supposed to. Changed back to stock MAF, and voila, no more boost cut, and battery resets with lean codes. It was a bitch to figure out being that I'm not a car mechanic, but I finally got it. Probably would have cost an arm, a nut, and a leg for a mechanic to figure it out
Put hybrid turbos and e40 on the Mercedes and it will be game over.
Put a hybrid turbo on the rs3 on e70……..obviously the more you put in the car the better the results. That BMW was on E and had turbo upgrades. See the difference…..

The AMG needs a Pedal Commander. I have a Weistec tuned ML63 performance. The lag disappears with the Commander installed. I'm getting 0 to 60mph in 3.1 seconds.

Race mode is the launch set up in the E. Must have suspension in sport mode hold brake wait for it to ask you and click right paddle once.

This is not true. A stage 2 FBO RS3 on 93 tune makes that power. Look up unitronic's numbers on the RS3, they advertise 554 hp on the crank
@@hellakray8514 maybe with inflated dyno numbers. I have a FBO 2018 RS3. On pump fuel (98RON in Australia), it made 300kwatw, which is 400hp at the wheels, or around 450hp or so at the crank. On E70, it made 360kwatw, which is 480hp at the wheels, or around 540hp at the crank.

Geolander tires on an E63S is crazy
AMG just tune themselves for the rumble and peaky torque curve not a flat one like the B58 engine that just keeps pulling. Audi also has a very peaky torque curve with their engines. It doesn't matter what HP your car makes but if the torque is too peaky it won't keep pulling on a drag race.

While that RS3 it’s base is $61k and you can’t purchase one at that price they are being marked up and in some cases a 2 yr wait. So, yeah there’s a bit of hyperbole with the 2 for 1 statement but it’s the 340i still far cheaper tested than the tuned RS3. Everyone knows BMW outperforms the EQUIVALENT Audi dollar for dollar. M5 CS > RS6 competition, M5>RS7, M4>RS5, and the G87 M2 with the M4 engine will smash the RS3 too. Apples to apples. As for the B58 engine, it’s already in the 7’s buddy. The S58 is already (only in existence about two years) running 9.5’s with a stock engine (block heads and internals), stock turbos… only downpipe, e mix and tune. Little hard to compare the rs3 and 340i with the turbo upgrade the 340i is more stage 3 than stage 2 put a hybrid turbo in that rs3 and that race would have been drastically different
