  • Since the Karoq first arrived on the scene in 2017, Skoda has gradually made various small changes to its midsize family SUV to make it more appealing. What's not changed about the car, however, is that it's one of the finest cars of its type.
The latest raft of subtle tweaks includes slightly slimmer designs for the front- and rear lights, as well as revised trim levels, but what's brilliant about the Karoq remains unchanged. It's still one of the roomiest cars of its type, both for passengers and luggage, and has exceptionally clever seating that makes it even more versatile. It's also impressively comfortable and polished to drive, while the posh-feeling interior also helps make it feel like a high-quality product.
In this CarGurus UK video review, Rebecca Jackson takes a detailed look at the Karoq, and shows why this talented all-rounder also offers exceptional value for money.

We swapped our 4 year old discovery sport for an karoq as a stopgap, planning to order another discovery sport later that same year. Three years later, we still had the karoq and loved it. So impressed were we with the skoda, we recently upgraded to an enyaq and again, we love it!

I recently took delivery of a 1.5 DSG sport line in the moon white and I can’t fault the car.
Loads of room great to drive and a really nice looking car.
The 1.5 engine has plenty of poke and I got 43 mpg on a long motorway run.

We love our Karoq Edition. Bought it in Sept 2020 and we’ve covered 13,000 miles in it. We spec’d it with a host of extras - none of which were particularly expensive. All the car’s advantages far outweigh a couple of gripes. Namely, a skittery rear suspension and too-short holding straps on the VarioFlex rear seats when “tumbled”

I enjoyed watching this very honest review.
I recently took delivery of my new Fabia colour edition, I do like the Karoq very much, however as I don’t have a large family, it’s slightly larger than my needs require.
The lack of hybrid/electric options doesn’t put me off at all, in fact it keeps the price at a realistic level.

I have a 2019 Karoq with 1.5L Auto petrol plus the additional electronic cockpit, brilliant, the fuel economy over 28,000 miles has averaged 37.5 MPG, better on long runs, lower on short about town work. Having come to the brand from many years of BMW company cars, the Karoq is real value for money, does everything you ask of it and the seats are very comfortable, regular 3-4 hour journeys are no issue. The entertainment system is OK and Apple car play works well. The inbuilt mapping is good in terms of quality but not as slick as Goggle maps for flagging jams and roadworks. Overall we are really pleased with the Karoq, cannot recommend too highly.

I have to agree Rebecca , the Skoda Karoq is a great all round car that is well proven. It's well equipped, roomy and super versatile. I think the understated looks add to the charm and not being in your face. Economy might not be class leading but for an SUV that's slightly more aerodynamic than a cathedral it's pretty good even on the 1.5 4x4 auto that was available in the UK for a time in 2019 (mid 30's in mine). it A very well done review! Thank you for sharing.

I'm on my second Superb SE L. But I'm afraid the price of them now is prohibitive for me, as is the Kodiaq. How ever, it's junior stable mate looks like a sure winner for me. I will be going for the 1.5 petrol DSG. It is so fast and smooth, especially in sport mode, even in big car like the Superb estate, you will not need the 2 litre version.

Think I'd go for an Octavia estate, bigger boot, more economical and the infotainment system appears to be a generation newer than the Karoq you've shown here. The only thing the Karoq has got over the Octaiva, in my opinion, is the fancy rear seat setup.

Skoda U.K. will shortly remove these from the British market I read. So if you want one you’ll have to be quick or get an Ateca or Tiguan. I have one as a holiday home runabout and it’s plain but very good. The 1.5 petrol is punchy and people always ask what engine is in it? The auto box is smooth and the digital display is very futuristic. Loads of spec for the price.

The fuel economy surprised me, in a bad way for a 1.5 TSI engine. I'm getting a long term average 36mpg from my 2L petrol mk3 Octavia vRS and that has 230 ps so it must be the relatively poor aerodynamics SUVs have I guess compared to normal hatchback or saloons?

I think, here in the states, we get this as a Taos CUV. Underwhelming at best, built to a price-point but not much more. I do like it, but would never buy one. The VW group treats most of their products like a marketing/demographic science of weights and measures. It might work on paper (and it typically does) but does it incite the wow-factor or illicit more passion for the brands? Maybe, at some level, maybe, but not for me. But attention and the fun-factor leans more towards the new I.D. Buzz since design and mechanical prowess does matter. With that said, I would rather buy a used Golf TDI estate over most of their current offerings.
