That's the problem, dude jams one day and makes an album out of that jamming, like he needs to slow down because you as a listener can't keep up with it, too much crap to take in. Besides, an album needs some inspiration, some story to tell, Buckethead draws doodles everyweek and makes galleries with that, so industrial and shallow I think... Yes, he has some wholesome stuff, but most of it is like an AI making generic, souless music, sorry.

    • @Dot_97

@@karlimo4034 Well, I recommend people to listen to some of his stuff, not all his stuff, and to be honest, you don't need to listen to everything. All of his 500+ albums are not really albums, they are called pikes and it's mostly his experimental stuff. He has a few well produced studio albums and I think his best songs are on these. I don't think it's industrial and shallow, Because he doesn't put out all of this stuff because he wants money. He could have made one studio album every like 10 years and he would've still made a lot of money. He does it because he's just a dude who likes to play guitar, and all he cares about is showing his music to people, and likes to record and publish pretty much everything he comes out with, because there will always be at least one person who likes it, and if he has a chance to release something that someone, no matter who that person is, might enjoy, he will do. Also, he plays mostly his popular stuff on his live shows because he knows that most people won't listen to everything he has put out. That's how I see his work. People might understand him differently than me though.

As a huge GNR fan I never paid much attention to this era of the band. But it seems like Axl had a very unique style at this time and they were definitely still kicking ass... taking the time to go back and see a lot of the material from that time. Such a shame that the original band couldn't get their stuff straight and get back together with enough time to do another album or two.

I think he’s under rated because as a sole full guitar player it’s just not what he does . The man has 30 records ( that’s what the internet says ) but fails to gain real traction . Music is absolutely an individual thing . I’ve read a lot of comments here saying how much feeling he has in this solo . I respectfully disagree . Is it possible because most of his portfolio of music is shredding scales so when he plays something remotely soulful everyone goes bonkers ? In my opinion slashes guitar solo in heavens door is far superior to this one . Appetite for destruction was the first record that G&R released and it still sets the standard in hard rock . BH has 30 records and most people that you would talk to on the street has never heard of him or found his playing something they want to listen to. I respect him as a musician and a guitar player but there is a reason he is where he is on the guitar food chain . He is missing something in his playing . It’s like listening to an instructor at a music school . I honestly believe that joining Axls version of “guns and roses “ ( name only ) that BH has done a great dis service to himself . He has tried to fill the shoes of one of the greatest sole full musicians of all time . That’s hard to do . He should have just stayed with a BH band and I think he would really shine making movie soundtracks or video game soundtracks . But he will forever be known as one of the many guitar players that tried to take slashes spot in G&R and will come up short like the rest .

Velvet revolver , slash and the conspirators , snake pit , orgy of the damned .. my goodness his Portillo is massive and to me is far superior than BH records . BH problem and why all the BH fans have to stick up for him so much and try to convince everyone his music is so good is because his biggest mistake was trying to take the place of a rock and guitar legend and he couldn’t fill the shoes . BH should have stayed solo and went for movie sound tracks or video game soundtracks . I’m thinking that’s why BH tends to have a young fan base anyways is because it’s very close to video game background music and that’s all many young kids want to do is play games .

FrogStomp? Getting this Silverchair vibe. Lead guitar is more than just being technically perfect. Especially for a band like GNR. IMO GNR would never have gotten off the ground with Appetite without Slash. I mean we all wanted to shred to get girls. Chicks dig guys with long hair who shred on the guitar. GNR shows up at a show in Anaheim in 1988 and the limo just gets swarmed with girls. Holding signs saying Slash I love you! and screaming and then fainting. In this business if your act doesn’t get the girls then you should be doing something else. Get the girls and then you get the guys spending money. Ain’t no one have a poster of Bucket Head on their wall or pasted up in their locker and that’s the demographic Geffen was targeting in the mid to late ‘80s.

The thing on Bucket is he has so much you can listen for years and STILL regularly come across something incredible that you’ve never heard. He's a great guitar player but still prefer Slash on all the Guns n Roses songs, cause Slash plays with so much emotion, bucket head is a super technical guitar player which doesn't work well on Guns n.Roses songs, just sounds super stiff
