I don't know what smoothed brain, brain lit thought that this was a good idea to have you in a area that is one of the most dangerous places in the game without a freaking map needs to be tried in court and brought up on charges.
The game is fantastic but this is by far one of the dumbest design choices I have ever seen and it’s where the story works heavily against the game because you can fucking leave the area without the map if you couldn’t find this old POS.
I did that and couldn't remember how to get back in to the depths and triggered a checkpoint really far away. Had to spend the day trying to find my way back 😅

This is a fun game with a lot of not-fun sections. This is one of them.
I dont know but once the latch is pulled down above the wak wak tree its impossible to reset it

You will not be able to progress anywhere through out the story though
