When I was a young adult I never behaved well, had decent (?) clothes and didn’t respected elder people. Now I’m 65 and I despise today’s young adults that do all those things. They are just weirdos and abnormal teenagers. I try to runaway from them.

One of the first songs I remember from childhood in the U.K, strangely enough I walk barefoot now almost every day for 5 to 9 kms living on the coast in South Africa.
1968 the year the song came out was the same year our family went to South Africa from the United States. We landed in Cape Town, spend some time in Port Elizabeth and ended up near Durban in Amanzimtoti. I was around 10 yo so I remember these songs and the simple times. We too lived on the beach with our own path. I don't think I realized how good I had it back then... I return to the US in 1979..

I also had various Stingray and Stingray knock-off bicycles. I also had a Winchester ‘73 bb gun rifle.

Just saw Mary Hopkin singing "Goodbye" on Ed Sullivan which led me to this. Both are great performances and have a unique feature in common that being the camera work in both. In the Mary Hopkin song there are multiple shots of her in one frame, with and without her guitar and each time she says Goodbye one guitar and disappears. Sandie Shaw seems to be revolving as she sings. Both of these effects enhance and underscore the lyrics and I feel they contribute to the artistry of the performances. Those were the days. Beautiful song. Always makes me picture a simple rural village maybe in Eastern Europe… remote, sunny, breezy, with mountains in the background. That’s what I see. it’s so not English despite Mary Hopkin and Sandie Shaw singing it. The Balalaika gives it that eastern feeling.

Just saw Mary Hopkin singing "Goodbye" on Ed Sullivan which led me to this. Both are great performances and have a unique
feature in common that being the camera work in both. In the Mary Hopkin song there are multiple shots of her in one frame,
with and without her guitar and each time she says Goodbye one
guitar and disappears. Sandie Shaw seems to be revolving as she sings. Both of these effects enhance and underscore the lyrics
and I feel they contribute to the artistry of the performances. Those were the days. (My Friend).

Within Russia there was a small area called Little Russia. The Bolsheviks added a huge industrial territory to the agrarian Little Russia, and called the new entity Ukraine. Moreover, they did it against the will of the Russian people who lived on this industrial territory.
