- Watch Too Late For Tears (1949) Full Movie on The Film Detective. Lizabeth Scott turned in what many consider her finest role in this shocking noir about a woman who finds herself in possession of stolen money. When a dangerous character named Danny Fuller (Dan Duryea) tracks her down and claims the money is his, she’s determined to hang onto her stash. Director Byron Haskin (I Walk Alone) brings together a fine cast that includes Don Defore and Arthur Kennedy, plus cinematography by two-time Oscar winner William C. Mellor (A Place in the Sun). If you’ve never seen this noir gem, you’re in for a hardboiled treat!
Director: Byron Haskin

love dan duryea pretty cool actor
Lizbeth Scott - divine, I think she and Barbara Stanwyck were just THE BEST Femme fatales - The Very Best.
A warrantless search is not legal. But I guess things were different back then.
This print is so dark, I can't follow it.
Yeah can't see any of the night scenes at all
Did you hear anything?! Stop hearing things and kiss me 😁
Lizabeth Scott keeps this intriguing with the multiple sides of her character. Her motives aren't good, but we can understand why she feels that way. She commits horrible crimes, but she's tormented enough that we still feel, she's someone we can relate to. She's just as doomed as her victims by her own greed, and the feeling of her knowing that hangs over the entire movie
I'm sorry but I don't relate to a cunning murderer
Cunning she was having mild bouts of insanity throughout the whole movie
I am trying to live the dream as laid out in the movie; first thing I need to do is buy a convertible...
Kristine Miller was strikingly beautiful..............
That hair...
@@peterc.7841 Not to mention, that body.
Lizabeth Scott and Scarlett Johansen look like the same person
a truly fabulous film noire , with all the stars at their very best and a great script ...dan duryea went into fims knowing that he was no great looker , and that he would have to rely totally on his acting ability to make it ....and he more than made it !
Great find. And this copy actually has audio. Lizabeth Scott, for whatever reasons, didn't care for this film. Too bad, she's never been better. Duryea is wonderful, as usual. Ty.
Wayne~ Interesting, didn't know Lizabeth Scott didn't care for this movie. I really like it the most.
A good ol classic. Dan were and still is the greatest. RIP Dan.
Roosevelt Davis~ Yes, RIP Dan Duryea. He died pretty young only 61.
Man, he was dynamite.
Duryea was so good at playing the bad guy in quite a few movies.
Second time watching this, big Dan Duryea fan, a real shite in the films he made. A real nice guy in the real world. Lizabeth Scott, wow, nothing else to be said.
Thank You for Posting this splendid Noir Movie.
Fantastic film!
I rarely am surprised by a plot twist, I’ve seen too many movies. But boy, Mrs. Palmer keeps you guessing.
jeepyjb~ I wish she had a little more time in Mexico. hehe
My favorite line in : too late for tears, was when Dan told Scott don’t ever change Tigger, I don’t think I’d like you with a heart ,but she was too narcissistic to see that he was talking about her, and who was the other guy that was trying to date her husband‘s sister Scott sister-in-law I’ve never care for his acting Disney play is Hazel‘s employer? I think that’s why I didn’t watch that though I like Shirley Booth.
I don’t know why Lizabeth Scott wasn’t much bigger. She’s like Lauren Bacall’s slightly off kilter sister.
2020 Too Late for Tears
THANK YOU!!!!
I don't think I've seen Lizbeth Scott before - godamighty she's good! Her performance in this movie might be the best femme fatale I've ever seen in a film noir. She's deeply scary.
Then you missed "The Strange Love of Martha Ivers" with Van Heflin. Younger, less scary, more beautiful. On UA-cam.
@@formica. I watched it but Barbara Stanwyck's performance was so overwhelming I didn't notice who was in the supporting female role. Maybe I should see it again.
@@dontaylor7315 Haha! A smaller part, but Liz was the one who I noticed!
Besides enjoying her films when I was younger I also had a crush on Lisbeth Scott as a young man in the 1970's Now at 62 y.o. I can see why
You spelled her name wrong and the guy that uploaded the movie did also. It's Elizabeth Taylor.
Great movie!, Hubby and I both loved this one!! Thank you for sharing!!
This is SUCH A CORNY delivery of a good storyline
I dont think Scott's good girls gone bad are bad but they make bad choices. That's intriguing to watch of course.
What girl WOULDN'T love to get slapped around by Dan Duryea?
He was boyishly handsome!!!!
???
A Lot. You bet.
@George Makedon What is there for me to learn here? What are you referring to?
In an interview, Lizabeth Scott talked about being slapped in her movies. She said the slap by Mary Astor In Desert Fury was indeed the one with the most venom.
Did anyone else really want her to get away with it? ❤
Excellent film. I still enjoy watching it. Scott really plays the femme fatale deluxe. Mr. Palmer's brother (the actor) is great too.
Billy Halop?
Good Catch I recognized his voice after seeing your comment In his filmography his part is mentioned as boat attendant (uncredited)
A great classic I dig the old classics man
Couldn't agree more! Always glad to encounter another classics fan :)
I watched this b/c I'm a huge fan of Arthur Kennedy. He was in the film such a short time but I still loved the movie. Ms. Scott was evil personified and Dan Duryea was great.
Lizbeth Scott was a reasonably normal wife, but confronted with all that money became totally UNHINGED. Fun to watch.
👍
Good classic movie👍🏽👍🏾
How come when the cars were chasing each other it looked like the car had no headlights on . Should have gone to Midas 😊
Thanks FD a great print of a superbly paced movie.Excellent acting from Lizabeth Scott and Dan Duryea (as always).Kristine Miller didn't have enough to do and found her sub story with the brother of the deceased a bit under cooked - didn't buy the romance. But minor points on an otherwise great movie.
It seems that Kristine Miller didn't have enough to do in any of her films...it was like the studio did not know what to do with her.
How much do you want to tell Arthur Kennedy to grow a pair?!

Ed Brubaker sent me.
🖤🌆
a woman no better than she has to be...lack of money is the root of all evil... no one better than Arthur Kennedy...
great
You mucked up the happy endind.
Dan Durya was a amazing man in my book, superb actor, man, "Terror street" now that's a gem right there right along with this one here and of course many others, some movies you wanted to kill him and in others protect him, now that's acting.
I’m here from cobra Kai
This is the worst movie ever, Scott plays a jaded and crooked woman and is mixed up with a man without a clue and Duryea plays a gangster.
I just adore the 40s noir movies ❤
