    As a rule to avoid blood clots obesity and poor health stop for 5 min every 100 to 150 miles to walk around use the bathroom and take a breath. Drinks lots of water stay hydrated and eat something breakfast, lunch and dinner. At the end of the day take a long walk exercise do some push-ups jumping jacks something physical. Most importantly get some rest. 10 hour break means 1 hour of activity 8 hours of quality sleep and 1 hour in the morning of pre-trip coffee and personal hygiene. Brush your teeth morning and evening and shower every other day. Happy healthy lifestyle. Stay focused stay alert and use your daytime for educating yourself listen to podcasts keep up with current events stay in touch with family and friends and most of all number 1 pray. Talk to the Good Lord He wants to hear from you. God Bless all of you 1 day at a time 1 load at a time we all keep this country moving! Without truckers America STOPS! 🇺🇸

    I used to do between 3000 to 3200 miles easily or even more in some cases, within a Week with these tips and Other tips developed for Myself…. and a few of these tips are:
    1. I start Driving between 4am and 4:30am and average 600miles or more in a Day and shutdown before 5pm at rest area… (not more than 2stops, and not more than 20mins and 35mins respectively) by then the will still be space at rest area, but there’s usually no space in most truck stop by 5pm…..that also helps me to always deliver load on time and even pick the next load before shutting down for the day. And with that I can average 2400miles easily within 4days and 3000 within 5days, if it’s longer miles. The only business I have with truck stops are shower, laundry and fuel. I always make sure I have microwave and fridge in the Truck and I do buy enough food for the week at any good store or Walmart during my 34hrs reset….. there are many more tips though….. You are the First Trucker, I have heard saying these. And thank You for sharing with us.
    God Bless and Be Safe Out there

    Fantastic video. Very useful tips. Time management is Paramount important to mention, though that it goes hand-in-hand with discipline. Stay safe out there.

    Hey, I'm with my trainer now, get my truck this week in Cartersville. We've hit 5k miles last week. Definitely going to use these tips when im solo. Is parking on the on or off ramps illegal and safe? what about weight station parking? I hate backing at truck stops, especially late parking. Thanks!

      It depends on which state you’re in as to whether you can park on a on and off ramp, there’s usually a sign up. When it comes to weigh stations a lot of them will let you overnight park there but that also depends on the weigh station. Thanks for watching man!

    How much do you get to handle your day? Like if you wanted to start the drive at 8am every day. Is that possible, or do you just start when you're told to. So sometimes you start at 2am? Seems like the time requiring you to stop equals out to about same daily schedule.

    Hubby and I are planning on going to school the beginning of the year, and running OTR together. I've been watching and learning from your content and Trucker Brown's content. So glad you shouted him out. I've learned a lot from you as well, keep up the great content!
    I have a question for you. With all the craziness going on in the world, inflation and diesel shortages/prices, do you think it's a good idea to jump into the trucking industry? I'll be walking away from a career where I'm self employed and make good money, but just completely burnt out and exhausted from.
    Scares me to think about not having an income while going through CDL school. Hubby and I are currently following the Dave Ramsey baby steps and don't have any debt other than mortgage and truck payment.
    In short, I'm wondering what your opinion is about starting a new career in trucking while all this economic crisis is starting. Should we stay put in our dreadful careers, knowing our income, or jump into the trucking industry with all the uncertainties?
    Thanks for your opinion

      I would suggest having a few months saved up for all of your bills, and also necessities like food, and whatever else you may need while out on the road. When I first started driving it took about 3 months before I was making significant money, and having some cash in the bank made things way less stressful. Listen to this man’s content, as well as trucker browns. Treat it like a job, and not a road trip vacation, because if you stop every hour, that’s time on your clock that is being wasted. As cliche as it sounds, if the wheels ain’t turning, you ain’t earning, is pretty accurate. As far as the state of the economy right now. Myself being a company driver, nothing has changed. I’m busier than ever!

    So im just getting into trucking, I know there is an 11 hour clock you can drive for. So on average, how many hours do you actually spend driving a day? Surely you don't drive the full 11 hours, or do you? Also do you ever hit your 14 hour clock before your 11 hour clock? Thanks for making the video!

    • @TheLivingFreedChannel
      @TheLivingFreedChannel  2 роки тому +1

      It’s not every day that you can drive the full 11 hrs. You typically average about 9 hrs of drive time a day, the reason is because some days you may drop off and pick up in the day which uses up your 14 hr clock. Once you go on duty for the day the 14 hr clock starts and you’re able to drive 11 hrs in the 14 hr period. But once the 14 hr clock runs out you have to take a 10 hr break.
