I just got my commercial class b license at age 20 couple months ago and now have a job driving a roll-off hoist truck, it's such a cool job in my opinion I really enjoy it! I drive a truck similar to the one in the video, it does the exact same thing with the cable how it picks up the dumpsters, except the one I drive has 4 axles and has a GVWR of 60,000! Really cool video!

I got my class been doing tractor trailer dry van for 5 1/2 years in Vegas I’m waiting to hear back from republic here in town looking for roll back or just get my foot in the door
@@Katmandu2 update! I just bumped into a roll off driver from Republic Services at my local gas station. He said it’s a Union Shop (Teamsters) and it’s a good company. He said their equipment is new and in good shape. I’m starting my training today with a smaller “mom & pop” company and hope to get in with Republic or Waste Management in the next 6 months or so
@@robertsmithjr.5839 Too cool Robert ! I too have been talking with every Rolloff driver I come in contact with. BTW, I drive local for a Waterworks (underground piping) company. We deliver to new housing developments. Same basic areas as rolloffs do. The responses have been mainly positive. I'm very seriously considering quitting me job and going with Republic as well.
Hey I hope y'all got the job. I don't work for them, I drive for someone else, but I have friends that do. They say it's not to bad. Plus you can transfer all over the country.
Buy them a ice tea or something they deserve alot of credit your service is deeply appreciated thanks don't work to hard job well done you should be proud ! Joe
Warning alarms stop becoming warnings when they run continuously! People just ignore them after the first 2 mins so zero point in it sounding like that.

Nice catch on the SWG there. Cool to see the truck running from multiple angles. It's usually hard to get lengthy footage of a roll-off truck

Decent company to work for? Just applied for a roll off position.
Thinking of applying myself. Would love to hear from experienced drivers on what it's like and what to expect.

My truck "had" that boom alarm. Somehow it got broke.
How does one break it? Asking for a friend.
@@darthtrader1027 I "accidentally" hit it with my ratchet bar.
Stick a washer to it, the sensor is a magnet.
Nice
