Explanation for death: was trying to counter but because of the absurd damage you take during the counter it resulted as the counter failing and it killing me
so, counting every tick of damage on full release, it does 176 damage to rey daus head. compare this to hammer attack, which does over 200, AND allows you to move, AND reposition with the slinger, AND has lower recovery. why does ryozo and the world team hate switchaxe so much? where is the balance? what was actually going through their heads when they were adjusting this weapon and its hsvs? hammer is such a boring weapon imo, idk why capcom, instead of adding unique mechanics and spicing it up, decide to just give it ANOTHER charge attack, shoot all the hsvs through the roof, and call it a day. it feels so lazy and creatively bankrupt. same thing with insect glaive, switchaxe and many of the other weapons. many changes were either sidegrades to previous games, or straight up downgrades. yall wanna talk about monster hunter having an "A" and "B" team? well, this is B team work if ive ever seen it. rant over. good video tho! love watching your positioning and flow, or weave as some put it, with the weapon, even if its in a bad state currently haha.
Tell me you don't play Hammer without telling me you don't play Hammer Wilds' Hammer is the most active the weapon has ever been, it plays incredibly fluidly and incredibly well, to the point where it turned from a hit and run weapon to a straight up brawler weapon. Just a little tip, if you don't play with a certain weapon type, then you don't have any expertise whatsoever to talk about it. You just end up sounding like a complete moron to someone who actually plays the weapon. The only reason no one called you out on your bullshit is this is a Switch Axe focused channel that accumulates a thousand views per video at most. It baffles me that there is a non zero ammount of people that liked your comment. Before putting your greasy little fingers on your keyboard again, think about it twice and then go back to the doomer Reddit circlejerks you came from
Ive main SA and i too am underwhelmed with it. Normal basic combos have low damage, axe mode is basically useless, offset move has shitty window, sword counter takes too much damage, attacks feel slow and sluggish, too much commitment on each attack with low dmg values, hops are useless and i prefer for it to have roll instead, sword meter dont regen when in axe mode passively, full release slash (which is the only reliable damage) have a very long requirement and has too much commitment window and still has lower damage compared to othee weapons moves which has less requirement and commitment, when not in amped state and in down time, its so boring and slow and unreliable, high risk low reward type of sht.
Watching this I realised what felt off about SwAxe in wilds! When you’re hitting in sword mode, there is zero feedback on the hits. It’s like it goes through the monster. Felt really shit to play coz of it tbh.
I see the only thing Swaxe has going for it is its offset attack. Hopefully in the full game there are skills that make it better. I've main Swaxe in Rise, and replayed World with it. Wilds made me switch to Charge Blade.
The opposite happened to me. I mained charge blade in rise yet in wilds it doesn't feel right so i switched to switch axe for a bit. I then settled on longsword because it's just so good
The DPS seem to have been aligned to be closer together but sword mode should still be the powerhouse with amped state. We can't say for sure right now but it looks like both modes will play a role for the highest DPS
Yessirrrrr, can’t wait to do more runs with you on the official release bro!!

love your playstyle with sa, and youre amazing with the offsets!

Imagine trying to sound smart by talking sh*t about a weapon that you clearly do not play
The stench of Reddit is all over you

These sidesteps are NASTYYYYYYY 🫨
Rey Dau got absolutely bullied by everyone in the open beta
I know this is still low rank but I almost wish they made him crazy tough like Magnamalo in the Rise demo.

bad sound design, dps, and feedback all come together to cuck the swax
offset attacks are so satisfying gg

we can hit its head or any part to trigger offset attack when rey dau does the wing swipe attack? 1:46 2:10
@@ryot69420 yes. We don't need to hit the monster's attack, just the monster itself in the correct time frame.
@@BloodyWyverian thanks! this is huge.
The sword attacks kinda felt weak, is it worth staying in sword mode like in World?

8:27 how do you do the mounted charge attack? I saw it but cant do myself
I think you hold triangle circle instead of tap it after the combo
@@RawxstarGaming correct, but you also have to be in amped state.
@ ah yes! Maxed sword gauge right?
@RawxstarGaming exactly!
Nice 👍
