I live in the United States and have never heard of Katie Melu until I was listening to some Cure songs and heard her cover of a Cure song here on You Tube. Here in the US too many people are listening to untalented rap stars and watching people who can't sing on American Idol. If she were on American Idol she would blow everyone away on the show. I have'nt been this enthusiastic about a female singer since hearing Mazzy Star for the first time. Great job Katie!!!
Yesterday Katie Melua performed in the Nuremberg Arena, and I was sitting in the audience. When she began with "Closest Thing To Crazy", I almost cried. It was just sooo beautiful! Katie is such a great talent and I hope she continues going her way.
The ultimate example of this beautiful little lady singing out of her deepest soul can be seen and heard on her DVD "The Katie Melua Collection", especially track number 20! Wow, what a fantastic little lady!!! I'll remain a fan forever!!
Please come to Ohio, Katie. I will drive many miles to hear you. You sooth my soul, my mind, my life. How comforting to hear your beautiful voice. It's been so long since we've had someone who really understands the purpose of music. Thanks from us all!

Katie has a fantastic voice that evokes much emotional strength; I sensed some similarites with Tori Amos, Sarah Brightman, Eva Cassidy and Annie Lennox. Nice to see it performed live and so raw, where all the words count and we see it for ourselves. There is much passion behind the song, and its moving. Thanks alot for sharing. Top-knotch job!

The song captivates from the first to the last note, but two passages particularly touch me: "Feeling twenty-two, acting seventeen". For me, a 58 year old romantic, the difference between 22 and 17 seemed marginal, but for a very young person there is obviously a world in between! And then: "And now I know That there's a link between the two Being close to craziness, and being close to you ". Wow. There is no better way to express it!
