I would LOVE to see videos on:
1.) Falsetto/head voice training - Possibly on how to effectively train & the benefits of training extensively in this register, especially for males. I have heard people mention that training in this encourages flexibility in M1/chest voice and that “bringing down your falsetto” will help you develop your mixed voice.
2.) “breath support” exercise regimes - how long to practice these a day & how to execute them properly. It is still a topic I struggle with but am focusing on as I try to rebuild my voice in silence.
3.) vibrato - I know you prefer not to teach it, but I enjoy your discussions on topics and would love to hear what you have to say about it. Also, what aspects of our voice to train to better encourage its appearance
4.) training frequency & duration - How much is too much or not enough & can we triangular in different registers longer.
5.) voice transformation videos - perhaps some of your students would be willing to be in a video of yours where you show a “then & now” portion of their lessons?
Your content has helped me understand & develop my voice. Love the videos & hope you still find time & enjoyment making them.

I agree with suggestions and wishes below for 1-2 daily exercise routines, and another talk about formants and resonance. The others were so very useful for me, clarifying a few pieces of knowledge I had noticed but wasn't able to assemble into a larger picture. I watch several videos and do the example exercises, but I would be excited to have some that are "led" exercises. I would envision these as complements to the explanatory videos -- when I want to review the theory and mechanics, I would rewatch those explanations. Perhaps that could be a quick(er) workflow for you to create more videos -- some "realtime" warmups. Just a thought, and thanks so much for all you do!

Going from head to chest or mix (and viceversa ) on the same note(and from a low to high/High to low note) without break. Also learn to do all of that in different dynamics (on the same volume, lower to higher volume and vice versa) which would also lead to doing videos about expanding your dynamic range in every register,on every note , safely with different approaches (relying on twang,or not, giving it space,or not, covering the voice would also be a cool topic, developing a bigger voice, developping very quite sound that are still connected or not, using vowel modification when singing soft/loud) etc.
Idk if that could be a serie but it would be cool if it was.

The elements of singing effortlessly! I practice good breathing from the diaphragm, aswell as forward placement & yet it feels like i am almost forcing myself to sing. This gets worse when I sing along to songs, so I believe it may be a psychological in trying to copy the singers voice & not allowing my natural singing voice to flow.
I hope this may give you some ideas, would love to know if you have any resolutions :)

    • @sunsundks3891

Hi, Karyn! I’ve enjoyed many of your videos and appreciate your thorough explanations. I’d love to see your detailed explanation on the anatomical differences between M1 (chest) and M2 (head) voices. I’d specifically like to see examples of sustaining a single pitch and moving it back-and-forth between M1 and M2 ...with the explanation of what should and shouldn’t be moving while doing so. Also, I’m curious about anatomical origin of compression. Is it produced by controlling closure of the AES? Thanks for considering these questions!

Hello! I am very much a beginner when it comes to singing properly. I really until about half a year ago just assumed that either you are born with it or you are not. My request would be for a video that explains what you think is the best to focus on as you progress in skill, starting with what is the best thing to focus on for a beginner. I know at least some issues I have are vocal tension (which I can't seem to get rid of), enunciation, and singing through a phrase with legato instead of sounding somewhat rigid (which may be due to how I am exhaling/breathing in general). So sometimes it can be a little confusing trying to figure out what to pin down first. I know everything essentially works together, but I am just wondering if there is a good order than may be able to fix some of the common problems of inexperienced singers. Thanks!

My suggestion is when I am get tight, if I anticipate tightness on a high note, switch to falsetto, trying to get as much resonance as possible to match the rest of the riff. It immediately puts my voice back in balance and in a little while, I no longer have to make the switch.

It sounds as though you're over compressing at the glottal level (squeezing a bit too firmly at the vocal fold level) in creating your belt. You're choking off/throttling the tone. I'd have to hear you sing for sure, but I suspect that's what's going on. I've started creating a belting course that I hope to launch by the end of February, but in the meantime, maybe I can put out a couple belting videos.
