How do you run a business without electricity 50% of the time? Multiply that across an entire country and you are back to the stone age. Or consider the oil wealth of Nigeria. Where are the Zambians who own this mine and the profit they get from it? Why is there so much poverty in Zambia that this could relieve?
Perhaps unappreciated is just how much permanently contaminated waste tailings are produced by copper mining. We need to come up with a newer method that doesn't cause so much alkaline waste.

-This mine is operated by Vedanta 80% and Zambian investment consortium which owns 20%... at the end of the day, VEDANTA pays taxes plus VAT...
-Which is almost 45% for ZAMBIA, but all those infrastructures were bought and installed by VEDANTA MINES & CO.
