- Day two of voting in Russia's three-day presidential election is underway. The vote is expected to formalize six more years of rule by President Vladimir Putin, who faces no real challengers. Few international observers have been permitted to oversee the election. Some voters don't mind making a great effort to reach polling stations.
For more on this, we talk to our former Moscow bureau chief Juri Rescheto. Ever since Russian authorities shut down our office in Moscow, he has been reporting from Riga.

Let's face it: People are inclined to follow strong leaders who can steer the country decisively, rather than meander aimlessly or pursue vague ideals while other nations progress. At the very least, strong leadership offers consistency and predictability. The most challenging scenarios arise in coalition governments, where various parties harbour differing priorities and conflicting interests.
