I followed your instructions and it worked perfectly. HOWEVER my new iPad Air now thinks it is my iPad 2. Instead of six digit code it asks for my four digit code. Is this fixable?

It should be a serious up grade apart from paying for it 🥴👍. Coming in a few days. Going to get a company to put a new battery in the old one.use it as a spare.

This was just great. I found using the "Cloud" option transfered everything. The other option didn't want to play ball, or perhaps my ineptitude !. I think it stays the same because it transfers all data as well as the way apps look and the backgrounds and wallpapers will all be transferred so I’m guessing that the apps will stay the same

What about transferring from a newer iPad to an older iPad? I have a gen 5 bought renewed and says gen 5 is limited to v 16.4.7 so it won’t allow transfer from a iPad running 17.x

I followed this exact set up. But it would not transfer my chrome book marks. Nor would it transfer my Google passwords, the auto fill passwords. What can I do to make it transfer this information? I have many passwords that have been auto filled for years. I could never remember them all.

The passcode on the new iPad is what you set it to during the setup process, not the passcode on the old iPad.

Sign into chrome with a google account. Then do the same on the new one. It should sync everything
